An even more simplified version of waffles is on kefir. All you need is:

  • Wheat flour - 340 grams
  • Kefir (or curdled milk) - 200 milliliters

  • Butter or margarine for baking - 100 grams
  • Salt to taste
  • Dry fresh yeast - 7 grams

How to cook: slightly warm the kefir in a saucepan. Boil water to 60 degrees. In a bowl, mix yeast with warm water and sugar. Let rise for about fifteen minutes.

You can add a spoonful of flour for dough. As the yeast began to act, enter warm kefir, oil (you can also warm it up) and salt into them. Gradually sift the flour there, kneading the dough medium density.

Leave to rise again, but for 40 minutes already. Bake in an electric waffle iron for about 5 minutes.

For softer waffles, use the Brussels Waffle option. The dough should be fluffy, airy and of medium density. Do not keep them too long in the waffle iron and preferably serve hot. Use the same ingredients as before.

I confess that I did not come to Brussels for the sake of the carpet, although it is insanely beautiful, my gluttony always comes to the fore. And I just could not resist the Belgian waffles and Brussels chocolate.

Chocolate here is very different, with incredible fillings, with saffron, cardamom, pistachios, mango and violet. In the form of sweets, tiles and even in liquid form. And the shops themselves look like a museum and are so appetizing.

There is simply a cult of chocolate here, on one street alone there are 10 chocolate shops with their own mini-factories. Usually such establishments here are called not a store, but a chocolate atelier, since a specially trained couturier masterfully creates a delicacy. Everyone here knows the name Pierre Marcolini. This is the God of chocolate, the best of the best. So he became after he won the competition in France, so now his chocolate is supplied to the most noble houses throughout Europe and beyond.

Brussels is a slightly strange city, even though it is the capital of capitals. It was noticed that, as in any metropolitan city of Western Europe, taste is a bad thing. They don’t need to decorate themselves with diamonds and expensive haute couture clothes, everyone already knows that they can do this, but they don’t want to.

Favorite cartoons that came out of comics occupied a good half of the houses of the Old City. Comics are a whole art, which is just as appreciated here as painting and music. It sells comics everywhere, magazines, for every subject, taste, color and budget.

But the most famous attraction is not comics, not waffles, not chocolate, and not even a carpet - but a pissing boy, the main disappointment of the city. Around him, at least during the day, at least at night, a bunch of tourists are always gathered. In Brussels, you will find both types of waffles, but most likely you will notice Liege waffles decorated with fruits, cream and chocolate on the windows, even in the Belgian capital, gaufre de Liège is now more popular than gaufre de Bruxelles.
