Equipment for pvc boats with hands. What the soul lies to, and hands will be attached to, pvc boat tuning. boat motor insurance

The very word "tuning" means the refinement of the product, in our case, the improvement of the PVC boat. Full tuning of PVC boats includes many things and it is quite expensive.

There are various reasons for tuning your boat.

Someone bought a PVC boat a long time ago, when there were no modern accessories in production, and someone has now bought a budget option no frills, assuming everything necessary fixtures will do it by hand.

By the way, the number of tuning things is not always justified. Excesses may not help, but hinder when moving in a boat, so you need to know the measure in everything.

What should or should not be added to the boat is up to everyone to decide for themselves. Perhaps, having familiarized yourself with the tuning of other boats, you will choose your ideal option.

It is not necessary to do everything with your own hands, the necessary accessories can be purchased ready-made and glued or installed yourself.

Here is my version full list PVC boat tuning:

  • Bottom reinforcement.
  • Installing redans.
  • Installation of a soft or movable seat.
  • Anchor making
  • Transom manufacturing.
  • Transom wheels.
  • Boat motor insurance.
  • Seam sealing.
  • Additional fastenings for a gas tank, an anchor, things.
  • Installation of additional handles.
  • Bag installation.
  • Solder floor made of moisture-resistant plywood or plastic.
  • Installation of holders for spinning rods and landing net, crossbars for trolling.
  • Installation of tables for the echo sounder and navigator.
  • Boat trolley.

As you can see, this topic is quite extensive, I have already described how to make some things in my articles, so I will dwell in more detail only on those that I did not pay due attention to.

bottom reinforcement

Although the PVC fabric that is used in the manufacture of boats is durable, it is still a fabric. It is subject to abrasion on a rocky or shell bottom and is not immune from rushes against snags, branches and other troubles.
Reinforcing or booking the bottom is initially what needs to be done as part of tuning a PVC boat.

Strengthening as abrasion can be replaced, and this is better than repairing the “native” fabric.

Expect that by strengthening the bottom of the boat, 8-9 kg of weight will be added and its dimensions will increase if you place it in bags.

You can strengthen individual places that are most prone to scuffs, or completely glue. Often, when talking about the full or partial strengthening of the bottom, the term "booking" is used.

Strengthening the vessel is carried out by gluing an additional PVC tape, it is also called a "profile", a fender. PVC tape (fender) comes in various thicknesses from 1.2 mm to 3 mm. The tape is glued to a two-component adhesive.

The fender width range ranges from 60 to 235 mm. The fender softens the blows of the waves. It happens ordinary and with a chipper. Some boats are already equipped with such a beam as standard.

Keel reinforcement- consists in gluing an additional layer of tape (fender) over the factory tape. This reinforcement, in addition to the keel, also covers the kilsons.

Reinforcement of cylinders- it is not necessary to make it along the entire length of the cylinder, usually the tape (bar) is partially glued, as far as necessary.

- since the transom protects only a layer of PVC fabric, it will really need reinforcement. The transom is reinforced with a fender.
You can roll up the bottom completely with a fender.

All reinforcement can be done independently. The main thing is to be careful and choose the right glue.

Installing stringers- profiles made of duralumin alloy, installed in the presence of a hard floor, these are additional stiffening ribs, their size corresponds to the thickness of the payol (hard floor).

An inflatable boat experiences deformation during movement, hard payolas rub against the inflatable parts of the vessel, stringers protect the fabric from abrasion.

In the bow of an inflatable boat, where it has a curved profile, stringers are not attached, they are not needed there.

How to glue the fender yourself

In order to do the reinforcing with a beam with your own hands, you will have to do the following:

  1. Rinse the bottom of the boat, remove grains of sand or other foreign objects from it and dry it.
  2. You can degrease the surfaces to be glued with gasoline, vodka, alcohol, acetone, but when using acetone, do not rub hard, the PVC fabric will be damaged.
  3. Apply a thin layer of glue with a brush to the surface of the boat and timber, leave it for 15 minutes, then apply a second layer and wait for it to dry so that it does not stick to the palms.
  4. Accurately lay the beam on the surface, press.
  5. For better bonding, the surface must be heated, this can be done with an ordinary household hair dryer. Warm up so that the beam does not melt, and the fabric does not begin to bubble, without fanaticism.
  6. Attach the area to be glued again and roll a rounded object, such as a bottle, over it for final adhesion.

Redans to the boat

These elements help the PVC boat to plan, increase its stability. Redans are, in fact, PVC profiles of various shapes.

Anchor

Anchor eye

An anchor eye is installed on the stern, it serves for convenient dropping and lifting of the anchor. A roller is placed a little lower to protect the fender from abrasion.

Transom wheels

At present, no one needs to be convinced of the benefits. But it happens that near the reservoir where you constantly fish, there are no normal gatherings in order to lower the boat on wheels, only on your hands, so they are not always needed.

If you have a simple PVC boat, and not ndnd (have a keel), then it is possible to install an inflatable keel, which will give greater stability on the waves and help you stay on course.

It is advisable to install an inflatable keel on boats whose size is more than 3 meters, since on small vessels, when using the keel, the bow will rise.

The length of the keel will depend on the length of the boat. The keel is glued with special ribbons, pointwise. These ribbons come with a keel.

seat

Most boat models come with hard seats, which are not very comfortable if you sit in one place for a long time.

For greater comfort, you can independently install soft seats, upholstered in leatherette or inflatable. Modifications of inflatable seats are varied from ottomans to armchairs.

Often soft seats combined with a bag for accessories, which is located under it. The dimensions of such a bag are comparable to the dimensions of the seat.

You can install a movable seat, which is convenient to move to a convenient place for you.

Installing the bag

The bag can be fixed not only under the can (seat), but also in the bow.

boat motor insurance

All the cases that can happen to you on a fishing trip cannot be predicted. In some emergency situations, when hitting an obstacle, when the clamps are poorly tightened, the outboard motor breaks out of place, it can simply be drowned.

The easiest way to mount the motor is to run a synthetic or steel cable on the transom through the two eye rings mounted on the transom, to put it simply, tie down the motor.

Gas tank mount

Often with a sharp change in course or a decent wave, it becomes necessary to strengthen an additional can of gasoline and other things.

Here, too, there are no special secrets, the gas tank and other things must be tied. Pass the rope through the half rings. Fasten the half rings as follows:

fasteners

All fittings on the PVC boat are glued to a two-component adhesive. There are several options for universal systems. Put one and you can fit any elements on it.

Fasteners "Pyatak"

Universal fasteners "Pyatak" is used for any fastener: spinning, awnings, tables, etc. This fastener is made of PVC, diameter is about 90 mm, height is 35 mm.

Alternatively, FASTen™ fast fasteners are used. With this lock, you can attach any additional attachments, including echo sounders, navigators, belt holders, etc. This is a transformer system, it allows you to quickly change one element to another.

Not many do full tuning, according to fishermen, a lot of additional details interfere with the fishing process itself. And yet, if you hang a lot of additional elements, the weight of the boat can increase significantly, think about whether you need it.

folk omen: Go on a long journey in the rain, which went unexpectedly - to a good path!

Such a concept as "tuning" means the improvement, refinement or modernization of a product. AT this case, finalization of PVC boats. Large-scale "tuning" of such boats costs a lot of money, especially since it involves improving the design or individual elements. PVC structures boats.

The reason for the modernization of a floating facility may be various factors. The first factor includes her imperfect appearance associated with the purchase back in the "ancient" time, when few people thought about the perfection of the product. The second factor is very serious and is related to the financial side of the matter. People buy inexpensive things with the hope that they will improve them without spending a lot of money. In addition, modernization can be carried out gradually, which will not lead to instant costs. At the same time, it should be remembered that in the process of refinement it is better to install only the necessary and useful elements that improve the characteristics of the product. Although, everyone has the right to decide which innovations are suitable for a floating vehicle.

Many elements can be purchased and installed on the boat. It is not necessary to make them yourself, especially since this process can be delayed in time.

bottom reinforcement

PVC fabric, which serves as the bottom of the boat, is quite durable, but it is inconvenient to move around on it. Since the bottom is not hard, every angler experiences a number of inconveniences. Therefore, strengthening the bottom is the first task. In the future, the reinforcement will have to be repaired, but not the bottom of the boat. It will cost less, and it will be easier to replace the gain with a new one or repair it. It is possible to produce both full and partial strengthening of the bottom of the boat.

The bottom is reinforced by gluing a special PVC tape, which is called a "fender". The fender can have a thickness of 1.2-3 mm with a width of 60-235 mm. It is attached with 2-component adhesive. This will make the bottom more rigid and more protected from various underwater surprises.

Keel reinforcement

The operation boils down to the fact that a PVC tape (fender bar) is glued over the factory tape. A similar strengthening applies to kilsons.

Reinforcement of cylinders

Reinforcement is done as needed. Cylinders are also subject to constant wear and tear.

Transom reinforcement

For this element of the boat, reinforcement is simply necessary, since the transom is protected by only one layer of PVC fabric.

In order not to suffer with individual elements, the bottom of the boat can be sealed completely using a fender. If you are careful and accurate, as well as choose the right glue, then the operation can be done independently. This approach will solve many problems associated with the deterioration of the performance of the boat.

Installing stringers

If a hard floor is installed on the boat, then you will have to install duralumin profiles. Since the boat is deformed during movement, the rigid floorboards touch the inflatable parts of the boat and a friction process occurs. This can lead to abrasion of the fabric, which is undesirable and can lead to a violation of the strength of the boat. In the bow, where the profile of the boat has a curvilinear shape, stringers are not installed.

Independent fastening of the fender

Self-reinforcing PVC boat consists of the following operations:

  1. The boat is washed, after which all contaminants are removed. After that, the boat is dried as thoroughly as possible. It should be remembered that the slightest amount of moisture will not allow the elements of the boat to be glued together with high quality.
  2. The surfaces to be glued are degreased with gasoline or acetone. Degreasing is carried out carefully so as not to disturb the fabric.
  3. Using a brush, a layer of glue is applied to the surface. Usually glue is applied to the boat and the fender. After 15 minutes, a second layer of glue is applied. The layers dry up until the glue stops sticking to the hands.
  4. The beam is superimposed on the surface and pressed.
  5. In order for the surfaces to adhere securely, it is better to heat them with a hair dryer. Heating is carried out very carefully so that the plastic does not begin to melt.
  6. After that, the surfaces to be glued are again pressed with maximum effort.

Redans to the boat

Such elements make the boat more stable. Redans are PVC elements with different shape.

Anchor

An anchor for a PVC boat is an indispensable element that allows installation at any point in the water area. It is especially effective in the presence of a current, when the boat can leave the intended place.

Spinning holders

A very useful accessory. Special mounts can be purchased at the store. The best option for one - 2 mounts, for two - 3 mounts. Extra fasteners can be a hindrance. Being ready a large number spinning is not desirable. If necessary, they can be pulled out of the tube at any time.

Alternatively, you can make your own rod holders from PVC tubes. They can be easily purchased at hardware stores.

Transom

A transom is required under the motor. When buying a boat, a transom may or may not be included. It is desirable to install an echo sounder on the transom.

Anchor eye

It is installed at the stern of the boat and facilitates the process of lowering and raising the anchor. The roller is placed slightly lower so that there is no abrasion of the fender.

Transom wheels

Install them or not, depends on the nature of the reservoir. Most reservoirs, especially wild ones, do not have the conditions for a normal boat launch. In such conditions, you have to lower the boat on your hands. So, there can be no talk of any transom wheels.

inflatable keel

As a rule, simple boats are not equipped with a keel, which does not allow her to stay on course. If you install an inflatable keel on it, this will help solve the problem of boat stability, especially in the presence of waves.

The size of the keel depends on the length of the boat. If you install a keel on a boat that is less than 3 meters long, this will cause the bow of the boat to rise. This element is attached using special ribbons, which are included in the package.

seats

Almost all models of such boats are equipped with hard seats, which is not very convenient, since you have to sit in one place a lot. To make fishing fun better seat replace with soft ones or modify old ones. Most boat owners make ice fishing-style seats with a storage box under the seat.

Alternatively, you can design a movable seat that is installed at any point.

Installing the bag

The bag can be equipped under the seat or in the bow of the boat.

boat motor insurance

Fishing is an interesting but also dangerous activity. Sometimes it is difficult to predict what can happen on a fishing trip. Quite often, when emergency situations intervene in the process of fishing, a motor stall occurs. As a result, the motor simply goes under water. To prevent this from happening, the motor is insured with a steel or artificial cable. It is attached to the transom through 2 eye rings. In other words, the motor is simply tied.

Gas tank mount

Elements such as an additional canister for gasoline require mandatory fastening. This is necessary so that when moving or making sharp turns, the canister cannot change its location. Fastening is carried out by means of a rope and half rings attached to the boat. They are attached to the boat as follows:

  • half rings are glued to the bottom if it is made of PVC fabric;
  • screwed to the floorboards with screws if the floor is hard.

fasteners

All additional elements are attached to the PVC boat with a two-component adhesive. There are several models of universal fastening systems. If you install it, then you can adapt any elements to it.

Fasteners "pyatak"

Universal fastener designed for fastening fishing rods, awnings, tables, etc. Its main material is PVC. Dimensions fasteners "pyatak" - height 35 mm, diameter 20 mm.

Fastener FASTentm

This is a versatile but quick fastener. Able to transform under any attachments, such as echo sounders, navigators, belt holders, etc. It allows you to quickly switch from one type of fastening to another.

If you install all of the above elements on the boat, then their weight can significantly supplement the weight of the boat, and then you definitely won’t be able to launch it on your hands. Therefore, before embarking on such tuning, you should think carefully.

It's said and done. Here is the boat and a sheet of plywood 12mm thick cut into 4 identical parts, already in the garage.

It was decided that the width of the slant would be 3 cm narrower than the bottom of the boat, so that the sheets would not damage the sides and could be easily removed from the lowered boat. I cut and filed the edges of the sheets to get rid of nicks that could damage the boat. In order for the slant to fulfill its role, it is quite enough to cover the place from the front seat to the rear with plywood.

Here the main part is done, it remains to protect the plywood from moisture, because it will definitely get into the boat, went through two layers of stain and varnished.

There was enough plywood for 8 pieces, and I only used 3 so I decided to cut another sheet and make a floor for the back of the boat. Maybe someday I will decide to make a transom for the boat, then I will have a place to install the battery.

After the varnish has dried, it's time to test. On the next weekend, a boat with a do-it-yourself floor was launched, the impressions were very positive, although a flaw also came to light - it was possible to stand in the boat and very stable, despite the strong wind, although you could make sure that all four parts were motionless among themselves also would not hurt.

It took me exactly half a sheet of plywood to make such a floor in a boat, and for the difference in cost I could buy at least five sheets of plywood, and only half was enough for me.

In conclusion, I would like to add! If someone decides to do all the above with their boat, be careful on the water and remember that under your feet is only an inflatable boat, not solid ground!

The very popular concept of “tuning” fascinates many only with its name. It immediately gives the impression that after tuning the watercraft will become more convenient, more expensive, more presentable - in general, it will definitely become “cooler”. In fact, tuning is the modernization or refinement of the production equipment or the properties of the unit to suit your own needs and wishes. Before starting work, it is worth deciding which improvements are needed and which are not. Such restrictions are dictated exclusively by practice. The watercraft has weight, and all tuning details add it. This affects the speed, engine power, carrying capacity, landing depth and other ease of use of the craft.

An indisputable plus of modern tuning for PVC boats is that many parts, attachments, fasteners and such necessary little things are bought in special or just hardware stores. They do not need to be invented and made from improvised means.

Boat packages from manufacturers often do not meet the expectations of buyers in terms of comfort, functionality and safety. But this is quite excusable, since everyone has their own goals, objectives and concepts of comfort. After all, almost every thing, from your favorite chair to a car, needs to be adapted exactly “for yourself”.

Popular Upgrade Targets:

  • Wear resistance. This option is very clear. When enough is bought expensive thing, for leisure, work or a hobby, I want it to serve for a long time and not cause inconvenience with frequent repairs and complex maintenance.
  • Comfort and appearance.
  • Safety of equipment and passengers.

The last two points include manipulations to strengthen the structure, insurance, installation additional equipment and concern for passenger comfort.

PVC boat tuning to increase wear resistance

An increase in reliability, wear resistance and stability is achieved through strengthening the design of the bottom and sides of the vessel. There are two approaches to reinforcing the bottom of a PVC boat. You can strengthen the parts separately or use a fender for the bottom as a whole. That is, take a wide tape and seal it completely. Moreover, this will not affect the running characteristics of the craft. True, you will have to remove the installed redans, and put them on top of the gain. The only negative is that it is more difficult to stick a wide tape than a few narrow ones. But with care, accuracy and the correct selection of glue, this can be perfectly done on your own.

bottom reinforcement

If you start upgrading from the bottom, then it is worth considering a few useful work: strengthening the keel, cylinders, transom, etc. Strength is added to the bottom itself with the help of a special PVC tape (fender). This is a very relevant procedure for a soft bottom. After all, when throwing spinning rods, hooking and moving around the boat on the water, you often have to make sudden movements, which does not help maintain balance and can end in spoiled fishing due to falling into the water. And after strengthening, the bottom becomes harder, but does not lose elasticity.

The second reason to strengthen the bottom will be the danger of running into a snag. Sharp and thick branches or stones may not be noticed when the boat is moving, especially in still, muddy water. When hitting an obstacle with a reinforced bottom, there is a chance to damage only an additional layer and repair only it too. This will save time for repairs, save the contents of your wallet and allow you to continue fishing even after an accident.

Keel reinforcement

Keel reinforcement refers to the application of PVC tape over the factory keel tape. Also strengthen kilsons. This adds strength and rigidity.

Reinforcement of cylinders

The integrity of the property, and sometimes the life of the fisherman, directly depends on the strength of the cylinders. The strengthened cylinders are an opportunity to reach the coast on the boat dry with preservation of all its contents. Cylinders are constantly under load from the air pressure inside and compensatory water pressure from below, which leads to increased wear of this part of the ship's structure. Reinforcing balloons with the same PVC tape will add not only strength, but also rigidity to the shape of the balloon. The tape is glued on the bottom (sometimes additionally on the side) side of the cylinder.

Transom reinforcement

The transom needs to be reinforced because it is protected by only one layer of PVC fabric. When moving at high speed, this part is most deeply immersed in water and has every chance of hooking on an obstacle. And when strengthening other elements, it is necessary to give it additional rigidity to maintain the frame of the bottom.

Installing stringers

Stringers are installed in the presence of hard while in the boat. In fact, the stringer is a piece of duralumin profile, straight and rigid, therefore it is not installed on the nose curves. The purpose of this procedure is to save the PVC fabric from abrasion and the formation of holes due to friction during the deformation of the vessel during navigation. Rigid floor edges touch the inflatables and can compromise strength.

Seam sealing

This is often necessary when buying fairly cheap and low-strength boat models. The PVC fabric itself is a very reliable and sealed material, but the seams during assembly should be additionally sealed with sealant if there are concerns about reliability or heavy loads are expected, such as transporting several people with luggage.

Tuning PVC boats to improve the safety of people and equipment

Independent fastening of the fender

The fender is a PVC tape, with a width of 60-235 mm and a thickness of 1.2-3 mm. It is attached to the bottom and other parts with a two-component adhesive. Its independent use to strengthen the boat can be divided into several stages:

  • Freeing the surface from dirt, moisture, all liquid and solid deposits. Be especially careful to remove all oily stains.
  • Drying the treated surface.
  • Degreasing. It is necessary to carefully treat with gasoline or acetone not only the boat surface, but also the tape. This is necessary for high-quality gluing of materials.
  • Applying glue. With a brush, the glue is applied to the PVC fabric and timber.
  • Drying. It takes about 15 minutes to dry the first layer, until the moment when it ceases to remain on the hands when touched.
  • Applying a second layer of glue. Both surfaces are also smeared a second time.
  • Drying. Again, a layer of glue dries to thicken. But it is important to dry the glue both times not until it dries completely, but only until the viscosity increases.
  • Bonding surfaces. A beam tape is superimposed on the boat and pressed with force. For a stronger connection or when working in cool weather, it is recommended to use a hair dryer to heat the materials to be bonded. It is only necessary to heat the surfaces with care and under constant control so that the plastic does not melt. If you are working in a very warm room with a temperature above 35 degrees Celsius or outdoors under the sun, then heating may not be necessary. It is quite simple to determine this, if the surface of the vessel and the beam are heated so much that they seem hot to the touch, then a hair dryer is not needed, it is enough to press the parts to be glued together and hold the time indicated in the instructions for the glue.

Redans to the boat

Redans - elements made of PVC, which have a different shape and are glued to the bottom of the boat. With their help, the stability of the craft is achieved when cornering and in motion with a standing passenger. Redans change the direction of the water flow under the bottom, break it into dense streams, which help to keep the course better, and partially prevent skidding when turning.

Anchor

Anchor for boats is not always necessary, but if you plan to stop, both in still water and in current, then you can’t do without it. Invaluable if you want to sit quietly with a fishing rod without splashing oars or turning on the motor, which will scare away the fish. Although it is good and easy to sunbathe on the water surface with an anchor, without fear that the boat will be blown away by the wind or current.

Transom

A transom is required for boats with a motor. There are models where it is included in the basic package. Although the design is simple, you can do it yourself. It is attached to a seat or hard floor. In fact, the transom is a support for the motor, so it must withstand good loads and be durable. The height of the transom is determined by the model of the motor, so you should deal with it after purchasing the motor or take this into account when buying.

On PVC boats, it is almost necessary to strengthen the transom to prevent fabric abrasion. An echo sounder is also installed on it as additional equipment.

boat motor insurance

Motor insurance in this context does not mean filling out paperwork at the insurance company, but fixing it through the eye rings with a strong rubber or steel cable to the transom. This was invented in order not to lose the motor in the event of a collision with an obstacle, a rise in the bottom or a strong hook on algae. In such cases, it is likely that the motor will simply jump off and end up on the bottom - an unpleasant situation.

Gas tank mount

Additional cans of gasoline, like other heavy luggage, must be firmly lashed to the bottom so that they do not change position when cornering or driving. Changing the position of a heavy load leads to unfortunate consequences in the form of fallen passengers, lost cargo and an overturned boat.

If the floor is solid, then the semi-circular fasteners are screwed to the floor, and you need to make sure that the sharp end does not stick out on the reverse side. If this happens, then the screw is cut into a hole, and the hole is filled with glue or sealant to ensure the safety of the bottom of the craft. On a soft floor made of PVC fabric, half rings are glued.

PVC boat tuning to improve comfort and appearance

There are special coatings for PVC fabric, which allow you to get rid of all scuffs, creases, scratches and other unpleasant moments of use, that is, they give the vessel the look of a new product. They are applied with a brush on a clean, dried and degreased surface of the entire boat.

Otherwise, the concept of "appearance" applicable to PVC boats has a purely practical content, it does not contain exclusively decorative elements designed to please the eye, any improvement entails a change specifications and ease of use. Each new equipment not only changes its appearance, but also serves a specific purpose.

Spinning holders

Spinning rods hold special ring mounts, they are especially useful when fishing with several at once. One person simply can not cope with the correct holding of several rods.

Instead of store special fasteners, PVC pipes from a plumbing store are suitable, the main thing is to choose the right pipe diameter and firmly fix them in the boat.

Anchor eye

The anchor eye is attached to the glue at the stern to facilitate lowering and raising the anchor. The spinning roller is placed lower so that the cable does not damage the fender.

Transom wheels

Difficult device. In fact, they are needed only on those reservoirs where there is a hard, even descent into the water, and there are not so many of them. If you plan to rest or fish on a forest lake in the wild without equipped slopes, and you have to carry the boat on your hands, then the wheels are completely unnecessary. Moreover, they will only interfere. But on the reservoirs equipped with descents, they will allow you not to spend a lot of effort and will be very useful.

inflatable keel

An inflatable keel is useful in boat models that are not able to stay on their own. Simple models, which are popularly called "punts" in motion, often scour the sides and have to constantly taxi to maintain direction. It takes a lot of attention and sometimes gets in the way.

The only negative is the bulging of the bow of the boat with its length less than three meters. Therefore, this type of tuning for models is more authentic.

seats

For lovers of comfortable sitting, excellent options have been developed in which you can comfortably sit for hours. A soft, waterproof seat with a back will allow you to relax and hold the rod, and sometimes even spin in place, unlike simple hard boards on spacers.

Installing the bag

The luggage bag is equipped under the seats or in the bow of the boat as a counterbalance to the motor. There are several options with stainless zippers and even fully sealed bags with strong fasteners.

fasteners

Fasteners are glued to PVC boats. The very specificity of the material will not allow the use of something other than glue. Several universal fastening systems are produced that stand on PVC fabric, and additional elements are already attached to them.

Fasteners "pyatak"

So named because of its shape and size. This is a plate with a diameter of 20 mm, which has a flat place for gluing on one side, and “ears” 35 mm high on the other. In them, with the help of bolts and nuts, all equipment is attached. It really is somewhat reminiscent of an old five-kopeck coin.

FASTen fasteners

This type of fastener compares favorably with the previous one, as it can be easily transformed into any type of fastener and is equipped with a plug that protects it from dirt when not in use. The flat shape also adds convenience, since it is impossible to catch or scratch on it when closed.

Awning

Awnings are installed only on boats with a reinforced hard floor, as the weight of the awning and mounts rests on the floor. There are options for a folding awning, stretched with stationary mounts and mounted on special "paws" and struts. The first option is constantly with you and takes up space, but stretches quickly enough on the pond. The second is taken with you folded, again taking up space or left on the shore. The third one is installed and fastened only on the berth, as it is mounted on the shore and placed under the cylinders due to the hooks of the platforms.

Awnings have a minus - boats with awnings do not go fast.

Table setting

This device is not very popular, as it is only suitable for standing boats. That is - to swim out to the middle of the lake, spread out the table, set the bait, fall apart in the chair and calmly cast the bait. It is for such fishing that tables in boats are intended, since in motion they will drop the contents from it.

Video: PVC boat tuning options

Such a concept as "tuning" means the improvement, refinement or modernization of a product. In this case, the refinement of PVC boats. A large-scale "tuning" of such boats costs a lot of money, especially since it involves the improvement of the design or individual elements of the PVC structure of the boat.

Redans are PVC elements that have a different shape.

Being in the ready state of a large number of spinning rods is not desirable.

To make fishing a joy, it is better to replace the seats with soft ones or modify the old ones.

  • half rings are glued to the bottom if it is made of PVC fabric;
  • screwed to the floorboards with screws if the floor is hard.

fasteners

All additional elements are attached to the PVC boat with a two-component adhesive. There are several models of universal fastening systems. If you install it, then you can adapt any elements to it.

If you look at the available reviews of fishermen about PVC boats, then the general conclusion is that it is an excellent swimming facility, but in terms of functionality, convenience and safety it leaves much to be desired. Experienced fishermen will certainly modify the boat, taking into account the peculiarities of its further operation. Moreover, PVC boat tuning is done mainly with their own hands, thereby maximally adapting the purchased model for fishing, “for themselves”.

Further - only options for tuning PVC boats, which are most often implemented. But this does not mean a priori that there are no others. If you understand the meaning of all technological operations and the feasibility of their implementation in one case or another, then it will not be difficult to transform a swimming facility with your own hands. Moreover, according to their own requests, taking into account all the specifics of fishing and priorities.

It should be correctly understood that “with your own hands” does not mean literally everything, by yourself and from scratch. Separate elements (parts) for tuning, if the price is acceptable, you can buy ready-made. In any case, it will be much cheaper than responding to the suggestions of specialists (and stores do them) and paying for something that you can do yourself.

Improved wear resistance

It is believed that the strengthening of the structure of a PVC boat, which implies an increase in the reliability of its bottom and lower part of the sidewalls (cylinder), is carried out only if it is operated in extreme conditions. However, experienced fishermen always do such tuning, regardless of the fishing conditions - on rapids or in still water. Even on a seemingly familiar pond, you can run into the same snag, previously unnoticed. That is, the risk of damage to the boat while fishing is always quite high.

In addition, it is advisable to reinforce the lower part and sides of the PVC boat to increase the bearing capacity. structural elements(more reliable engine mounting and for other purposes).

bottom reinforcement

Procedure:

  • The PVC boat is inflated and turned upside down.
  • The surface is cleaned (in the event that the watercraft has already been operated). As a rule, fishermen limit themselves to washing it, after which the additionally treated area is wiped with a rag.
  • Measurements are being made. Here one should be guided by the principle of sufficiency, based on the dimensions of the boat and the specifics of its use. Some fishermen stick to its bottom parallel strips from commercially available PVC profiles(or rubberized fabric), others fix a membrane (patch) or individual pieces of waterproof materials over its entire surface. In any case, the wear resistance and strength of the bottom of the boat (at break) are significantly increased.

  • The necessary fragments are made according to the measurements taken.
  • The air from the boat descends, and it unfolds in a specially selected place. Since in the process of gluing the cut-out PVC strips (or membranes) they will have to be smoothed out, fixing them on the base, the surface must be even and rigid.
  • Boat degreasing. At this stage, first (if necessary) the removal of microscopic solid fractions from its bottom is performed, and then it is treated with an appropriate agent. It must not react with the materials (PVC of the boat and selected for gluing). As a rule, fishermen use white spirit or gasoline for degreasing. If there is nothing at hand, except for acetone, then you can use them. Only carefully, in small doses.
  • Laying cut-out fragments, their alignment on the bottom. This is just an example. It will immediately become clear whether everything has been done in the preparation process correctly. Perhaps the cut will have to be adjusted.
  • Applying glue in the right places, and again - on top of the patch or strip.
  • Next - heating the place of application of the strips (membrane) with a building hair dryer, followed by their rolling with a hard and at the same time sufficiently elastic roller. Whether to heat treat or not depends on the type of adhesive. But it is necessary to press down (you can use a home-made "skating rink", which is easy to make, or take a glass bottle for this purpose). Particular attention is paid to the removal of air from under the bands. Otherwise, in places where bubbles form, the material will gradually peel off. So, at the slightest hook, it will easily break off.

It should be noted that such tuning significantly increases the mass of the PVC boat. If you stick the membrane all over the bottom, then at least 7-8 kilograms. Experienced fishermen advise paying attention only to those areas that are most susceptible to abrasion. In this case, one speaks of "partial booking". That is, tuning (refinement, improvement) is done only on individual segments of the PVC boat.

The adhesive is applied in at least 2 layers. The first, after 10-15 minutes the second. This improves the quality of fixation of the used part on the base (PVC).

Strengthening the bottom and other structural parts of the PVC boat is convenient to do with a special tape, which is called a fender or profile. Sold in thicknesses from 0.1 to 0.3 and widths from 6 to 24 (cm). Such parts are fixed with a two-component adhesive. They are available in two versions - halts with a chipper and regular ones. There is a choice.

Balloon reinforcement

The technology is basically identical to the method described above. The only difference is that the boat does not need to be blown off. The same PVC halts are used. As already noted, they have different linear parameters and are usually sold according to the dimensions of a specific PVC boat model, but this is not important. If their size is slightly larger, then trimming is easy. The main thing is that the values \u200b\u200bare not less than required. But if the meaning of all the work is clear, they can be made with your own hands, from the same material that was used to strengthen the bottom.

In addition, the keel and transom of the PVC boat are subject to reinforcement.

Installation of the anchor eye

The place is food. A little lower (seen in the photo) is a roller that prevents abrasion of the PVC material of the boat with a cable.

Seam sealing

Not many people buy branded PVC boats for fishing. Most focus on cheaper models. Do-it-yourself additional sealing can also be turned into a kind of tuning and literally “decorate” the watercraft with decorative stripes, segments, giving it a unique look.

Installing stringers

It is done if the fisherman has equipped a hard floor in the boat. The duralumin profiles used for such tuning (or corners, depending on the thickness of the floorboard) prevent increased abrasion of the PVC material. Stringers are mounted only on straight sections. So, where the geometry of the boat changes (in places of curvature) they are not needed.

Installing redans

Such tuning is done only for PVC boats with an engine. Special profiles made of the same material (the cross-section is selected individually) increase the stability of the craft, and also facilitate its entry into planing.

Installing rod holders

Extremely useful tuning, especially when fishing is carried out simultaneously by several means. For example, spinning and wire rod. For this, segments are used. pvc pipes suitable diameter.

What other boat tuning ideas are there

If you look through all the information on this topic (on sites, forums), then there are enough options for tuning a PVC boat. The fantasies of fishermen are so diverse that, as they say, the advice is "innumerable." Much depends on whether the boat is new or used, what was its original configuration (model), the size of the boat, fishing conditions, the specifics of use (single fishing or group fishing), and so on.

  • Sensor. This is for separate (stationary) echo sounders. The place is on the transom. If it is not provided in the basic configuration, you will have to do it yourself.
  • Transom wheels. With them, it is convenient to launch a PVC boat in some places. For example, if the coast is steep, but there are no assistants to carry it in their arms.
  • Inflatable keel. Increases the stability of the boat. It is advisable if you have to fish far from the coast. After such tuning, the watercraft keeps well even on a big wave.

The list can be continued indefinitely. How many fishermen in the world, so many options for tuning a PVC boat.

  • Awning.
  • Seats (movable, soft, raised, and so on).
  • Engine insurance.
  • Table.
  • Crossbar (for trolling).
  • Hard floor (plastic, multilayer plywood).
  • Additional elements of fasteners (things, anchors, gas tank).
  • Hiking bags.
  • Trolley (to move the PVC boat over a distance).

Everything needs a measure. Various excesses, even if something seems to be “cool” tuning to someone, fishing often becomes a serious hindrance. If you overdo it in your zeal, then it is possible that the mobility of the PVC boat, its stability on the water, will sharply decrease. And this is only part of the troubles that may arise when going out into nature. Yes and excess weight Boats are definitely not a plus.

Therefore, no matter how attractive it may look in a photo, in TV shows, with another fisherman, you should think carefully - but do I really need it?

Good ideas and success in transforming your PVC boat. But most importantly - do not forget about the reasonable limits of tuning!
