Fourth, knot is a symbol of protection. In Islam, there is a belief that the knot symbol helps protect against the evil eye or damage. This property makes it related to the symbolism of the labyrinth in Ancient China.
Fifth, a knot is the personification of an oath, a vow. It is also a symbol of promise.. In medieval France, three knots were tied on the mantle of a monk, which were supposed to remind him of three obligations: to live in poverty, to be chaste and obedient. Knots can also serve as an obstacle in many areas of human activity, for example, at councils and conferences.

If the audience cannot agree in any way, the chairman should ask if any of those present have an object tied in a knot.
If there is one, it should be untied. Most often, all disputes after this cease and the parties come to an agreement.

A malicious person can create problems in the family and at work by hiding knots in the house or in the office, knitted from any available means, including threads, ropes and strips of fabric.
The nodes will interfere with the free communication of family members, colleagues, business partners and customers, as well as anyone who enters this house, office or store.
There are, however, circumstances when knots are very helpful.

A husband who suspects his wife of infidelity should tie a piece of twine in a knot and hide it under the mattress on her side of the marital bed. The strength of the knot won't let her look to the side. In the same way, children, servants, aged parents, and any potential vagabonds can be kept from leaving the house.
In the era of sailing navigation, there were special sorcerers who specialized in the manufacture of "wind knots". Before sailing, the captain of the ship bought such a rope with several knots. If the ship fell into a calm, the first knot was untied so that a moderate wind would begin to blow. The second knot caused a strong wind, and the third a real storm, such assistance was resorted to only in extreme cases.
On the islands of Northern Scotland, witches traded in knotted handkerchiefs with wind. The fishermen who bought them slowly loosened the knots until they achieved the desired wind strength. The knot can no longer be tied or used again, so before each fishing trip, new scarves had to be bought.
Perhaps the most famous was the knot of Gordius, a Phrygian landowner. After the death of the king of Phrygia, the oracle announced to the people that the new king would be the one who first drove up to the temple of Zeus in an ox cart.
Gordius was the first to drive up to the temple, and he was proclaimed king. Gordius dedicated his wagon to the gods and built a separate temple for it. As it turned out later, the drawbar was attached to the yoke with a special knot that no one could untie.
The oracle predicted that whoever could untie this knot would become the ruler of all of Asia. Many unsuccessfully tried to loosen the Gordian knot, and only Alexander the Great solved the problem in the simplest way - he cut the knot with a sword.
