Making a circular table. How to make a reliable circular table with your own hands? Manufacturing technology of a table for a circular saw

Most people who work professionally with wood would like to have all the necessary machines at their disposal. But unfortunately, this is not always possible. One does not allow the space of the workshop, others, and I think the majority - money. Any, even the most primitive machine is quite expensive.

But what's stopping him from just doing it himself? Nothing is impossible for a person with intellect. For every carpenter, a circular saw is the main tool. But it happens that only a hand saw is available, and this is not always convenient for large amounts of work. In order not to purchase a separate tool, you can make the mini saw stationary for the convenience of work - make a sawing table (stand) for it.

Circular saw table

When choosing a circular saw, you need to be guided by the following characteristics:

  • Saw power. If the amount of work is quite large, it is advisable to take a tool with a power of at least 1.2 kW.
  • Cutting depth. The thickness of the material to be processed depends on this parameter. For hand saws, this is 40–70 mm. But when it is installed in the table, there will be a decrease in the region of 10 mm.
  • Button placement. The design of the sawing table must provide free and safe access to all control buttons, otherwise it will be necessary to modify the control system yourself.
  • Rotational speed. For cutting wood, a high rotation speed is a priority. This affects the quality of the cut. For plastic, for example, this is not very good. From the high speed of the circle, the plastic heats up. It is necessary to choose average characteristics. 3-4 thousand revolutions per minute will be enough.

Do-it-yourself table for a circular saw, installation, fastening

For the manufacture of saw table you will need to acquire materials that are sold in any hardware store.

We will need:

  • plywood 15–20 mm thick;
  • timber 50 * 50 mm;
  • boards, approximately 50 * 100 mm;
  • switch;
  • socket;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • PVA glue;
  • videos;
  • metal corners.

Making a workbench

  1. Mark and cut out the plywood countertop of the desired size. Clean the surface with sandpaper.
  2. In the lower part on the tabletop we mark the places for the holes for attaching the saw. To do this, you need to remove the disk and set the saw in the right place, making notes. On the surface of the hole for the bolts, we countersink, and the bolt hats need to be ground.
  3. If the material will be cut at different angles, the disc hole must be made in the shape of an inverted trapezoid.
  4. Apply on the countertop the places where the stiffeners are attached (from below, at a distance of about 8 cm from the edge). The legs must be attached to the ribs. The ribs are screwed with self-tapping screws at intervals of 25 cm and glued with PVA.
  5. The legs are made from a bar 100 cm long. Then a screed is made from a bar for extra strength.
  6. To be able to adjust the height of the table legs, nuts with M14 bolts are attached from below.
  7. We fix the saw from below.
  8. We fix the socket on the inside of the table. From it we pull the wire to the switch.
  9. We make a parallel emphasis. We cut off two strips of plywood, the same length as the width of the table. The width of the strips is 10 cm. We make the corners round. We grind both strips and fasten them with self-tapping screws. Then we cut two strips of the same length, but three times wider. We fasten them. This will be the guide. We fasten the stop and the guide. We set a right angle relative to the disk. We fix the rollers.

Table drawings for a circular saw

There are other ways to make a hand-held circular saw frame with your own hands. Here are two more examples.

Table for hand-held circular saw with lifting mechanism

To change the depth of the cut, you can additionally install a lifting mechanism (elevator).

Myself lifting mechanism we mount from a metal sheet that is attached to the frame on the machine. The rise will take place along the guides by tightening the bolts.

One way is to install the adjusting rod with fixation nuts. Instead of rods, we use studs. We make the adjustment handle from a plate welded to the end of the stud. At a distance of 4–5 mm from the center, we make holes for self-tapping screws. We weld a rod to the edge of the plate, with which we will rotate the structure.

Conclusion

From the experience of many people, we can say that although such machines do not look very attractive, but with the right and diligent approach, they are no worse than factory ones, such as Interskol, and have no less service life. The big advantage is that the cost of such a machine will be three times lower. In addition, you can make the machine "for yourself", which will greatly increase labor productivity.

It is not difficult to make a circular table with your own hands, having a hand-held power tool from Bosch or another leading manufacturer. But the presence of a table will significantly expand the capabilities of the tool. Manual models of Bosch circulars, like their counterparts, demonstrate high performance. But maneuverability, as the main plus of a hand-held circular saw, can turn into a minus if you need to process a large amount of workpieces. This is where a homemade table comes to the rescue.

  • The design of the table required for a manual circular is quite simple, which allows you to do it yourself. A homemade platform requires a bit of skill and time to make;
  • Drawings and diagrams are not mandatory components for the successful assembly of the table with your own hands;
  • The optimal material in order to make a table for a Bosch manual circular is metal;
  • When choosing a metal table for a circular, do not forget about the massiveness of the structure and the need to be able to work with welding machine with your own hands;
  • Often the table is made by hand on the basis of wood. They are easier to assemble, which allows them to be made by a beginner;
  • Under the tabletop, the Bosch circular itself or its analogues is installed;
  • The disc should protrude above the tabletop. For this, a special slot is provided on the surface of the table;
  • Lumber moves along the surface of the table and is sawn by the cutting tool of a circular saw;
  • To increase the accuracy of processing, the table can be additionally equipped with a longitudinal and angular stop;
  • The tabletop will take away part of the working disk, therefore the sawing depth of the manual circular will become less by exactly as much as the thickness of the working table. This indicates the need to choose a hand-held power tool that allows you to install large diameter saw blades;
  • The desktop is recommended to be done with an emphasis on strength and subtlety. For these purposes, metal or durable wood species are suitable.

In many cases, it is better to start making a table with your own hands before you buy the circular saw itself. This will allow you to optimally select the characteristics of the equipment. For a manual circular that you want to make a machine on your desktop, the optimal power will be at least 1.2 kW. This will allow you to cut efficiently and without overloads. a large number materials.

Tools and materials

If you are unlikely to need drawings, it will not be superfluous to reinforce the knowledge gained in this material with video lessons on assembling tables for circulars.

To make a countertop, thanks to which a manual circular will become a desktop, you will need certain materials and tools. This list includes:

  • Sheet of laminated plywood. Estimated thickness dimensions - 15-20 mm;
  • Wooden bar. Its dimensions are 50 by 50 mm;
  • Quality board;
  • Switch;
  • Socket;
  • Electrical cable;
  • Glue;
  • Paints and varnishes;
  • Self-tapping fasteners;
  • Electric jigsaw;
  • Screwdriver or electric screwdriver;
  • Ruler;
  • Household drill.

Determine the dimensions at your discretion. But if the desktop circular is too compact, you will not be able to cut long workpieces on it with the required comfort.

When choosing dimensions, be guided by the parameters of the most frequently processed workpieces. The dimensions of the table must be such that the product fits completely on the table top. This will allow you to cut lumber with your own hands using a Bosch tool.

Table top assembly

When everything is ready, you can start working with your own hands. Suppose that you have already chosen the Bosch power tool itself, or prefer an analogue of a trusted manufacturer represented by Bosch.

The approximate dimensions of the countertop, taking into account the selected materials, is 50 by 50 by 25 centimeters. You can make your table larger or smaller, depending on personal preference, the size of your workshop, or the specifications of the Bosch circular saw you are using.

  1. Taking a laminated plywood sheet as a basis, cut out a countertop of the size corresponding to the selected parameters. Plywood may not be laminated, but in this case it will need to be coated with a layer of varnish. Apply markings from below so as not to spoil appearance future table. Via electric jigsaw cut off the excess, clean the edges.
  2. Turn the sheet upside down, apply marks for mounting a hand-held circular saw. To do this, remove the saw blade from your circular saw, place the device with the sole against the surface of the sheet. Make marks on the sheet itself and the sole for future fastenings.
  3. Use a drill to drill the holes needed for the bolted connections. Screw the bolts from above through the table, and from below the structure will be held on by nuts. Here it is recommended to countersink the holes on the working side of the sheet, grind the bolt heads. So they won't show up.
  4. If you are going to cut the material on the machine with a Bosch circular at different angles, the hole for the saw blade should be made in a certain shape - an inverted trapezoid. If only smooth cutting is planned, it is enough to cut out a standard type of groove.
  5. Do not rush to immediately cut a hole according to the markup. Once again, take the circular, attach it to the sheet, check that the dimensions match, after which you can continue to work.
  6. Use a pencil to mark where the stiffeners will be installed. To make them use wooden board. The ribs are located below, stepping back from the edge of the tabletop about 8-10 centimeters.
  7. Tabletop legs are recommended to be mounted to the stiffeners. To fix the ribs, use self-tapping screws, screwing them with a screwdriver in increments of 15-20 mm. It will not be superfluous to additionally glue everything with PVA glue. Self-tapping screws must be screwed through the top of the desktop, while sinking the heads of the fasteners. Using long screws, do not forget to connect the stiffeners together.
  8. Using timber or boards, cut out blanks to create the legs of your design from them. The length can be 100-120 centimeters. Here you should focus on your own height, since it will be inconvenient for a high master to work on a low table. If the legs diverge slightly towards the bottom, this will give them more stability. Fixation is carried out according to the bolt-nut principle. Between them it is not superfluous to use washers. Having completed the screed from a bar, the frame of the desktop will turn out to be more durable.
  9. You can adjust the height of the table with nuts that are screwed to the legs from below. M14 bolts are suitable for these purposes.
  10. Now go directly to fixing the circular saw. Drive the disc into the slot made, and secure with appropriate fasteners.
  11. From the inside of the table, it is recommended to screw the socket, connect the wiring to it and place the switch in a convenient but safe area. Drown the on-off button on the circular body and fix it.
  12. Using a square tube and screws with wing nuts, a longitudinal stop is made. Cut the pipe according to the length of the table for the circular, drill holes for the screws 30 mm from the edge of the tabletop. Using pieces of plywood, a pair of clamps is made.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in assembling a countertop for a circular. A little time and the design is ready.

A circular saw is used to cut wood along an array. Its cutting base is a disk-shaped plane with a serrated outer edge. Such saws are not only manual, but fixed on the table. How to make a universal table for a circular saw so that this cutting tool can be installed on it? Below are several ways to make a table for a circular saw with your own hands.

DIY circular saw table

How to make a circular table from chipboard? To make such a table for a circular, you need:

  • a sheet of laminated plywood 9-11 mm thick (800x800 mm);
  • 4 sheets of chipboard 16 mm thick (400x784 mm);
  • several bars 40x40 mm;
  • several bolts and screws;
  • aluminum cornice.

On such a table, you can fix any hand-held circular saw with a large disk. Table drawings for this type of circular table can be easily found on the Internet.

Such a saw is made in several stages:

Guides for circular saws are made of timber or aluminum cornice.

A do-it-yourself saw table is made from boards, as the most available material, often. To make this table you will need:

  • plywood sheet (thickness 20 mm and above);
  • boards 50 by 100 mm;
  • bars 50 by 50 mm;
  • several screws;
  • wood glue;
  • one of the types of wood varnish.

A blank with a hole is cut out of a plywood sheet with a jigsaw - a tabletop in which the saw will be placed. When marking the holes, they are guided by the dimensions of the sole of the saw. Stiffeners are made from the boards, which will be attached to the countertop with self-tapping screws. In the process of fastening, the boards are pulled together with clamps. A start button is later installed on the front stiffener. For the manufacture of legs, boards about a meter long are used. They are attached from the outside to the stiffeners with bolts.

Examples of finished tables for a circular saw

Do-it-yourself circular table is not always advisable. It can be too bulky and clumsy, and difficult to adapt to precise wood cutting. Therefore, if it is not a pity to spend a certain amount of financial resources, it is better to purchase factory-made tables. They are made of durable and comfortable materials, safe when turned on. electric current and also have a factory warranty against breakage.

The Jet JBTS-10 circular saw has a retractable table on each side, which increases the area suitable for work. Thanks to the belt wire, the cut is noiseless, and the service life of the electric motor is also increased. The presence of an eccentric clamp eliminates the displacement of the machine during operation, which makes it convenient to use in any conditions.

When using a table saw Caliber EPN-1100, it is possible to cut wooden materials in the longitudinal and transverse directions, as well as at different angles. The tilt level of the saw can be selected and fixed.

The sawing machine Enkor Corvette-10M 90101 uses side and parallel stops, which greatly facilitates the work. The saw blade can be tilted up to 45 degrees when cutting. An industrial vacuum cleaner can be connected to the machine to remove wood dust. At the same time, the device is characterized by lightness and small dimensions.

The use of a stationary circular saw Einhell TC(TH)-TS 820 allows you to work with lumber in mass production. It is a suitable tool for processing not only wood, but also fiberboard blanks. The design of this model provides a hole into which devices are connected that produce wet and dry cleaning of the machine. At the same time, the equipment is so compact that it can be installed on any workbench.

A circular saw is an excellent maneuverable tool with high performance. However, like all tools, the saw has some disadvantages. For example, you may have problems if you want to cut large parts of a tree. In such a situation, a special table made by yourself will help you. This design will allow you to easily and quickly cut large parts without any problems.

Selection of tools and materials

At the beginning of work, you need to make sure that all the necessary raw materials are always at hand, as well as a set of tools that would be useful throughout all the steps. To create a table, you need the following materials:

  • plywood about 2-3 centimeters thick or an identical piece of chipboard;
  • wooden bars measuring 40x40 millimeters;
  • construction corners made of metal - 12-15 pieces;
  • self-tapping screws of different lengths and bolts of different classifications;
  • glue used in carpentry;
  • means of processing the product from moisture and rust;
  • outdoor socket;
  • cable;
  • switch.

This set of materials is necessary for a standard construction of ordinary dimensions with an area of \u200b\u200bjust over one square meter. You can work on such a table with almost any hand-held circular saw, except for tools with small discs, since the cutting depth sags during attachment to the tabletop, on average by 1-2 centimeters.

For work, you will need the following tools:

  • marker or thick pencil;
  • tape measure, metal ruler, angle;
  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • Grinder;
  • drill;
  • sandpaper.

Manufacturing process

Creating a multifunctional design for an electric circular saw with your own hands is quite simple, however, it is necessary that the manufacturing process proceed strictly according to certain stages. Strict adherence to the advice is necessary so that there are no problems or difficulties.

  • First of all, each master must create a drawing and plan for the future product. According to the drawings, work is much easier to perform, the risks of making something incorrectly or of poor quality are reduced. At the planning stage, it is necessary to take into account the dimensions of the future structure as clearly as possible.
  • After creating a plan and a rough sketch of the product, as well as preparing all the necessary materials and a set of tools, we begin to manufacture the table body. Planer align all the edges of the bar. Then, from sheet material and aligned bars, we assemble the base, the dimensions of which were determined at the planning stage. The working surface area is usually about 1-1.5 square meters. All parts are attached to each other with bolts and screws. At the end of the work, we get a box without top and bottom parts.

  • Next comes the manufacture of countertops for sawing machine, it is cut out of plywood or chipboard sheet based on the size of the frame. The tabletop should be the same area or slightly larger. The main thing is that it does not outweigh the body to one side. If the table top is made of non-laminated material, then it should be sanded and trimmed. Further, with the help of a ruler and a pencil on the tabletop, the marking of the points of attachment of the electric saw to it, as well as the upper part of the table to the main body, is carried out.
  • The next step is to cut the hole for the saw itself. To do this, measurements are taken of the support shoe of the sawing machine, which will later be used on this structure. On the reverse side of the tabletop, appropriate markings are made, which will accurately determine the place of attachment and the area along which it is necessary to make a cutout for the circular disk. For accurate marking, it is better to draw axes that connect exactly in the center of the plywood sheet. After determining the axes and making accurate markings, you need to cut out a hole for the disk, as well as drill holes for attaching the saw shoe.

  • The circular saw is attached to the plywood worktop from the back (inside). To do this, you need to make 4 holes in the shoe of the saw itself, their diameter should be approximately 1 centimeter. Then you should completely align the saw and match all the markings so that the tool is level, all the marks and holes correspond to each other, the disk freely enters the central hole in the tabletop. In order for the saw to be securely fastened to the table, it is necessary to use special countersunk head plowshare bolts, the head of such bolts should be deeply immersed in the sole of the tool and not stick out.
  • Then the saw is put aside and the assembly of the table continues. In order for the design to be stable. special attention must be paid to her legs. The best stability of the structure will be provided by legs diverging downwards. They are fixed with large bolts and nuts.

The length of the legs is determined individually, in accordance with the height of the person who will work at the table. Ideally, the countertop, and, accordingly, the saw itself, should be located just above the master's belt.

  • The next step is to attach the countertop to the body. At a distance of about 3 centimeters from the edge, you need to make holes in the corners of the plywood, then holes are drilled in the corner bars for further fastening bolts in them. Further, the parts are connected using M8 steel fittings.
  • After the structure is assembled, it is necessary to fix a special switch on the table that will control the on and off of the saw with an electric motor. To do this, cut a hole for the switch in the case and fix it with bolts, special glue or construction screed. The switch must provide electrical power to the saw itself, which means it must be connected to any electrical source in your workshop using a cable. It is attached from the bottom of the countertop with construction fasteners.
  • Then you can make special stops. First, a transverse beam is made, it greatly simplifies the work with the structure. It is carried out mainly from plywood or chipboard. First you need to cut out 2 strips, equal in length to the width of the table, the second side should be about 100 millimeters, the corners of the strips must be rounded.

  • Then the workpieces are ground and fastened with self-tapping screws at a slight angle, a metal corner is screwed inside. After that, the strips are attached to the table on movable furniture rails, which will allow you to move these stops along the entire table.
  • If desired, you can make a variety of additions to this design, it all depends on your skills. Some craftsmen remove the guard and all adjustments for adjusting the blade inclination, this allows you to get an extra few millimeters of cut. Some replace the factory platform with a turntable own production, with a professional approach, this also gives a number of advantages in work.
  • The fabrication of the structure is completed by the stage of processing and preparation for operation. The entire table should once again be sanded, wiped and varnished or with special means to ensure durability of use and repel moisture and rust.

Installing a circular saw in a homemade table

After the manufacture of the main body, an electric saw is installed in a homemade table.

  1. At the stages of manufacturing the table structure, all the necessary holes were cut in the tabletop.
  2. During the installation of a stationary saw, it is necessary to perfectly adjust the tilt of the tool, otherwise the sawing of wooden parts will be of poor quality. The first step is to install the tool on the finished tabletop in all the grooves and determine whether it is necessary to change the slope. If the angle does not match the desired, then you will have to adjust it with the help of special bolts, this is the easiest option. Or you can cut out special blocks that will be attached to the countertop, and already on top of them, at the right angle, an electric saw will be attached.
  3. If the tool is in place correctly, all the holes converge, you need to put and attach the sole to the table with bolts and tighten them from the inside with nuts with spring washers.
  4. Once the hand saw is in place, take a piece of wood a little larger than the one used to adjust the angle of inclination and fix it to the tabletop at the place where the saw platform was marked.

This bar is needed so that after dismantling the circular saw from the table, you can embed it exactly in the same place without using any additional markings.

  • Before using the electric saw on the table, you should check the saw blade itself with a square, as some unscrupulous manufacturers do not set the blade exactly at an angle of 90 degrees, as a result, the saw cuts turn out to be beveled.
  • If during work you plan to use the table also for storing tools on it, then the dimensions of the countertop should be larger than a square meter in area.
  • For manufacturing, it is better to use high-quality and durable materials, otherwise the table will not last long.
  • The table can be supplemented with anything, for example, some manage to attach a special vacuum cleaner or a riving knife with disc protection to it so that chips and residues from cutting wood do not fly around.
  • Decide in advance where the table will be placed, and make sure that the floor where the table will be placed is level.
  • If you have the desire and certain skills, you can make a folding tabletop or lifting table, but this will take more time and materials.
  • If the table wobbles or vibrates during operation, adjust the height of the legs using suitable pieces of rubber.

How to make homemade table for manual circular saw?

  • table making
  • Table front assembly
  • Installing the control unit

Owners of manual circular saws often think about improving this tool, because for all its advantages, it cannot 100% replace a full-fledged circular saw. It is quite possible to convert a hand saw to a stationary one by making table for circular saw.

Disk saw necessary for precise longitudinal and transverse cutting in wood and metal.

There are many ways to correct hand tool deficiencies. One is buying a new one. circular saw. But since you have become the owner manual circular saw, then surely your plans include its direct use. Then why don't you make your own table specially for circular saw, with which you can turn a circular saw into a stationary machine. Well, as a result, in addition to satisfaction from a job well done, you will have the planned result and experience in this industry. In the event that you already have an unusable, but still strong table(any purpose) you can use it as a bed. But if there is nothing like this on the farm, then use the tips to create a support table for your circular saw.

Selection of the necessary material and technology table making

To make table for circular saw from plywood, it must be processed with special means.

As a work surface the best option, we recommend choosing Finnish plywood. There are a number of significant reasons for this. The material is laminated, which will ensure good sliding of the workpieces on the working surface of the table. In addition, the thickness of the material can withstand enough big weight. These plates are moisture resistant and at the same time have all the properties of wood and are quite easy to process, which is very important.

To make a table, you can even use simple plywood 20 mm thick, but then it must be further processed with special compounds or later covered with a sheet of textolite or steel.

Simple boards with a thickness of at least 40 mm are suitable for the manufacture of all drawers. And for the legs, you can use not only wooden bars or boards, but also profile pipes.

It must be clarified before starting work that the use of a circular table will significantly reduce the cutting depth of the disc plate, just by the thickness of the table top. Only if the saw has a larger disc, this will not affect the work in any way.

Scheme of a homemade table for circular saw.

Before making a table for circular saw on your own, even at the stage of choosing its size, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the dimensions of the table must correspond to the dimensions of the workpieces with which you will work. That is, when working, they must be completely placed on the countertop, since the accuracy with which you can then process them depends very much on this. You can make one more improvement. Attach a jigsaw and a planer to the lid of the same table from below, if you use these tools, you will provide yourself with a convenient multifunctional machine.

Table front assembly

From the prepared plywood sheet, following the preliminary calculations of the final dimensions of the table, cut out a rectangle and process its edges. And from below you can immediately apply markings for fastening. Lean the circular to the inside of the lid, outline its contour, and then make a cutout corresponding to the contour with a file. In the case when it is expected to work with workpieces at different angles, this slot should be wider from above than from the back.

If you really do not have enough depth of cut, then a few millimeters will immediately need to be removed from the thickness of the countertop.

Next, we manufacture the side cleavage boards, which serve to improve its support. In addition, you can conveniently place accessories on them that turn the saw on and off. They should be fixed at a distance of 5-10 cm from the edge of the countertop. With this in mind, measure and saw off 4 of these boards. And fasten them with self-tapping screws in the form of a board. On those edges that are adjacent to the top cover of the table, and on the table top itself, apply wood glue. Next, attach the sides to the lid and fix them well until the glue dries completely.

Carefully approach the choice of the height of the table legs. After all, it will depend on the height of the table how convenient it will be to use for you. The legs are attached to the side rails, you can use screws or screws for this. Be sure to separate screws, nut heads or screws from the wood with special washers.

When planning a table, no detail should be left out, so a bounding box must be set.

After you have carefully fixed the legs of the table, they still need to be further strengthened, because the pressure that will necessarily appear in the process of work is incomparable with the load on an ordinary table. That is why there is an urgent need to install additional spacers at the table legs.

When planning a table, you should not miss a single detail, they are all important, so there is a need to set a bounding box. It is available on some models, but it is clearly not enough to work with large workpieces.

Pick the length of the bar the same as the length of the countertop. If you feel comfortable, you can let it move along the countertop, or firmly bolt it. Such a limiter can be made both from a bar and from a metal corner.
