History of Tarot cards and its most beautiful Legends. Fairy tale tarot decks

Childhood memories are the best elixir for curing momentary blues And that's absolutely right! Childhood years are always the best in the life of any person, if only because the burden of everyday affairs lies on the shoulders of adults. But it is in childhood that the formation of personality takes place. Many factors play a role here, which, when added together, create an overall picture. psychological portrait person. It is important to develop the horizons of the child at an early age. And the best source for understanding the world lies through the good old fairy tales that caring parents try to read to their baby as often as possible. Of course, when a person grows up, the good old fairy tales are gone forever. Everything has its time. This stage of life has been passed. But imprints in our subconscious remain forever. Randomly, we may cross paths with the fairy world again. Only the perception will be, of course, different. Various aspects of our being sometimes carry a short-term ticket to the past. And the tarot system is no exception. Some decks of tarot cards combined tradition and the fairy-tale world. Recently I wrote in one of my reviews about Andersen's Tales Tarot deck. Today I will continue to consider this direction and I will take the analysis of the Tarot of Russian Fairy Tales from the Magic-Kniga esoteric hypermarket as the basis for the review. The deck was released in 2013. This tarot belongs to a unique tradition, the category, of course, Russian fairy tales. The heroes themselves, which are depicted on our lasso, are selected as objectively as possible, in accordance with the Waitian tradition. Ivan the Fool became the jester, we have Death the Serpent Gorynych, the Knights became the Knights, etc. The minor arcana are illustrated. The number of arcana is standard 78. The deck has a light, friendly energy, gently and unobtrusively gives advice when considering everyday issues and the psychological aspect of a particular situation. The interpretation of the meanings of the arcana when working with the deck is very easy. Mainly due to the fact that many moments are revealed to us from our own subconscious and the inner voice voices for us the answer to the question posed at the beginning of divination. And it is fairy-tale characters familiar to all of us from childhood, now living deep in our memory, give us clues. I think now it is clear to many where, it would seem, fairy tales from childhood. This is the basis for the development of the perception of the world. We got a little acquainted with this creation .... Now let's give the deck an objective assessment. 1. Workmanship Here we have a set of medium quality box, companion book and cards. The cardboard on which the cards are printed is thin, but quite suitable for work. Cutting is much better. Although, there is something to improve. The print quality is good enough. The cards are colorful, bright and beautiful. The quality of the set is quite decent. 2. Text accompanimentMBK The companion book that comes with the set is written much better than the reference manuals for other decks from the same publisher. There is a brief description of the lasso, interpretation of the meanings in the direct and inverted position, as well as from the standpoint of efforts to weaken the meanings of the lasso. The latter is especially important for the tarot reader, who does not consider the inverted position at all. I myself have not watched it for a very long time and I cannot help but note this plus in this MBC. 3. Simplicity from the point of view of the first acquaintance and further work The deck is universal. He is happy to make friends with both beginners and professional tarot readers. Pretty simple and informative. 4. Originality An original idea, a well-executed synthesis of fairy-tale characters with Waite's tradition, is a real highlight in tarology. It is simply impossible not to appreciate this. The deck catches the eye at first sight. 5. Value for money Objective price, which fully corresponds to the quality of the deck. And in itself, a successfully embodied idea is worth paying this price for a set! 6. Collectible value It is quite possible to take in a collection. An interesting deck that is not a clone of other works. Individuality with strong charisma. Here is her a brief description of. Excess on the shelf will not be for sure. 7. Total score For this set, you can put, though thin, but five. If the publisher takes into account small comments on the quality of the deck and the re-release will be based on this, then the five will be solid! And in general, everything is very good. I am pleased with the very fact that Magic-Kniga is trying for us, implementing more and more new ones in their decks. interesting ideas. Keep up the good work guys!

The stories below are tales about the history of the origin of the meditative tradition of tarot, which roam the vastness of the Internet.

Myths and history of tradition

The closed esoteric tradition of knowing the secrets of the universe through meditation on the images of the Tarot Arcana has existed since ancient times.

According to the legend of Atlanta, those who arrived on Earth from another planet brought universal knowledge and passed it on to the Egyptian priests. Knowledge was transmitted by the god of wisdom and knowledge, Thoth (atlas), who later became widely known under the name of Hermes Trismegistus. The priests of Ancient Egypt preserved the knowledge by encrypting it in the symbols of the Arcana of the Tarot. In the city of Dendera there is a Temple (until now not found), on internal walls which depicts the 22 Great Arcana Tarot. Priests were trained in this Temple. Future priests (neophytes) learned the principles of the world order through meditation on frescoes with Arcana, underwent serious tests and initiations.

During the Middle Ages, thanks to the crusades, the tradition fell into a secret magical order. In the 20th century, the famous freemason and keeper of various secrets, Papus (Gerard Enkos), gave Initiation to one of his students, Grigory Ottonovich Möbes (G.O.M.). In 1912, Möbes conducted a course of study in the occult in St. Petersburg, which included an initiation into the Tradition of the Arcana Tarot. In parallel with the St. Petersburg group, another group worked in Moscow - the group of Vladimir Shmakov. The members of the groups who survived due to emigration abroad during the period of repressions - two people - returned to St. Petersburg at an advanced age. It was they who transmitted the Tradition of walking in the Great Arcana of the Tarot to Grigory Romanovich Reinin in the form in which it is observed at the present time.

Operating procedure

In this Tradition, transmission from person to person is very important. Therefore, beginners are first immersed in each of the 22 Major Arcana under the guidance of an experienced leader who has received Initiation into the Tradition (transmission). The Leader is the Guide of the Great Arcana.

There is no need for beginners to go through the Great Arcana in strict sequence. You can start with any of the Major Arcana.

Meditate usually in groups. At the lesson, 1 out of 22 Arcana is collectively chosen for immersion. Then the presenter reads out the description of the Arcana according to V. Shmakov and everyone plunges into the created space of the Arcana for 30-40 minutes. After the meditation, time is given to write down their experiences, after which the group members, if desired, voice their impressions.

Immersion in the space of the Arcanum attracts the appropriate energies, includes a special state and thematic learning situations in Everyday life, the residence of the Arcana begins.

In the future, a beginner can independently meditate at home according to the description of V. Shmakov on the Arcana, into which they plunged in a group with a guide.

The percentage of people who complete the circle of the 22 Great Arcana is small, as life becomes brighter, richer, the whirlpool of life events swirls a person, and only a few are still willing to devote part of their time to continuing the practice. Than it's not modern version tests of the neophyte?

Those who continue (those who have closed the circle of the Great Arcana) can, under the guidance of the leader, go through the Pair Arcana in sequence - 11 halls of the Temple. This is the 2nd stage of the knowledge of the Arcana in this Tradition, it is considered the most serious. Immersion in the Paired Arcana in a certain sequence is like going through a labyrinth. Arcana are lived on a deeper level.

After successively passing through all 11 halls, you can experiment with states, “play” with the spaces of the Arcana further: combine 4 or more Arcana, dive into the spaces of the Court and Minor Arcana, as well as the Shadow Arcana.

Peculiarities

In this tradition, it is believed that the Tarot Arcana, only 100:

22 Great (Senior) Arcana;

16 Court Arcana;

40 Minor (Junior) Arcana;

22 Shadow Arcana - reflections of the Great Arcana (their shadow side).

Curious addition

Those who practice meditative travel through the Arcana of the Tarot call themselves "Arcanauts".

Most "arcanauts" are dismissive of the use of the Tarot as a mantic (predictive) system. They believe that the predictive Tarot (as a kind of “astral machine”) was created to preserve the tradition of meditative immersion in the Arcana of the Tarot, since the best way to carry real knowledge through the ages is only by exploiting the eternal vices of mankind: the desire to know fate, the future, and the like.

We personally (the authors of the site), without any internal contradictions, combine in our daily life immersing ourselves in the Tarot Arcana in this Tradition and working with a wonderful tool - (you can say in other words: "dialogue" with a reliable friend and assistant) - a deck of Tarot cards.

Literature according to this tradition

After getting YOUR experience of immersion in the Great Arcana of the Tarot, it will be useful to read books based on someone else's experience:

  2. G.O.M. "Encyclopedia of the Occult".

Arcana Tarot - tools for transformation

As a tool, Arkan is a picture or a text description. Through the picture, you can feel the vibration of the Arcana. Or you can “enter” the meditative space that is described. After the passage, there remains a memory of a specific sensation and certain knowledge brought out of the immersion. The knowledge of this vibration and the wisdom of the Arcana makes a person adept at going through a certain range of situations corresponding to the Arcana. So all 22 describe just about any possible situation. Arkan suggests a way out of a difficult situation, and even offers a special internal state, holding which you can emerge victorious (or with minimal losses) in any situation.

Working with the Arcana implies the development of these states and the skill of their application in life.

Mental study of the Arcana
Many who begin to work with the Arcana reduce the whole practice to a mental analysis of the meaning of the elements of the image and the various names of the Arcana. This approach is very superficial. You can make another mistake - limit yourself to a meditative journey through the space that opens up with a specific Arcana. Although such a journey is a deeper level of work than the mental one, it is also not enough. It is necessary to catch the feeling of a special vibration inherent in this particular Arcana. An even more serious work is the perception of the Arcana as a certain point of view on the world, a kind of window into Infinity, an aspect of the Whole. This is how the Arcana was conceived when they were created in the days of ancient Egypt. All one hundred (100 Arcana make up 22 + 22 white and shadow Major Arcana, 56 Minor Arcana - 4 to 14 in each Paw-Suit) were supposed to save all knowledge, all wisdom, a complete picture of the universe. The Tarot Arcana as vibrational spaces are known from the deck Tarot, which has the Senior Twenty-two as Archetypes of situations and roles; there are fifty-six Minor Arcana, separated by suits as the Pillars of the Elements: Chalices - Water, Wands - Fire, Swords - Air and Pentacles - Earth. But there are also twenty-two Dark Arcana, which are complementary pairs to the Great, and make up a whole deck - like a hundred ...

Origin of the Arcana Tarot

The knowledge of the Egyptian priests had an unearthly origin. Its foundations were the secrets of the Atlanteans who lived on the sunken Atlantis. But they also brought their knowledge from the stars, from another Universe, from a civilization that passed through both technogenic and spiritual levels of development, and had the opportunity to scatter the seeds of wisdom among civilizations that had just begun to develop on other planets and in other galaxies. A hundred years ago, it was quite natural for several years to deal first with the understanding of the meaning, then work on the clarity of the visualization of the picture and the revival of its characters, and only after reaching the level of living the Arcana. Today, we immediately begin by incorporating the vibrations of the Arcanum into our lives. Most of those who start working with them already have a wonderful inner vision, and astral travel is a significant part of life. Arcane vibrations are felt and recognized by everyone at the first immersion in one of the Arcane spaces.

How to enter Arkan

You are reading the description of the Arcana. Thinking keywords and values. Then present the image. Make it big and alive. You become a Traveler through a painted scene. You can approach any character, ask him a question, and even feel like in his role. You can bypass temples and caves if you find any. In the process of such immersion, you gradually understand the hidden meaning and wisdom of this Arcana. Then you "come out" of meditation, open your eyes. Remember what you saw and heard. Write down and tell the rest of the participants in the dive. Usually, the facilitator first reads out the text of the description, pauses for the duration of the meditation (from 15 to 40 or even 90 minutes), then offers to leave the deep immersion in meditation and talk about his experience, his feelings. After everyone tells, he says his comments, and gives a task for a week, before diving into the next Arcana.

Working out the Arcana during the week

One of the main components of working with the Arcana is a special inner state that appears during your stay in the Arcana, and the main wisdom of the Arcana. Wisdom is contained in the name of the Arcana itself and in several key meanings that precede the text of the description of the picture. All Arcana differ from each other precisely in this state and the wisdom contained in the Arcana. A picture or image is just a key for tuning, without which it would be difficult to enter a particular Arcana for the first time. After immersion for a week (or more) until the next immersion, it is necessary to understand those life situations that, in a training manner, begin to attract Arcanum vibrations to the “arcanaut”. So in a very short time, many problems that usually surround a person can disappear. The speed of working out such “lessons” depends, of course, on himself, and on accepting the situation from a new point of view, usually the “Arcane”. You can move along the positive side of the Arcana, then situations will bring success. But it is possible, remaining passive and not working with the Arcana, to go through the negative side of the Arcana. Then all week there will be continuous trials and crisis situations, which without Arcane vibrations would be enough for a year. And these tests sometimes fit in a week. So to speak, "through thorns to the stars"... Lessons are still passed, these are the properties of the Arcane spaces. But trials are hard...

Within 22 weeks, a very rapid transformation of a person can take place, of course, through a change in his consciousness. But it is precisely with consciousness that Arkan works. If you use it only as a magical tool for manipulating situations, the transformation may not happen.

However, as a magical tool, Arcana is also acceptable. This is a matter of worldview.

During the seminar, before entering the Arcana, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the canonical description of the Arcana (according to Shmakov and G.O.M. *) and look at the images on several Tarot decks (usually participants bring their own). Then read out the magical correspondences to this Arcana and its traditional names. Only after that close your eyes and begin to create a visual image-entrance to the Arcana. The description of the picture most often does not differ much from the traditional one, and may have additional details that are visible only when immersed in the space of the Arcana, so to speak - “live description”.

From the history of this Tradition

Papus, being a well-known freemason and keeper of various secrets, came to Russia and gave Initiation to one of his most faithful disciples, Möbes. In 1912, Grigory Ottonovich Mebes led a course in occultism in St. Petersburg, which included initiation into the tradition of the Arcana Tarot. Earlier information is lost among the secret magical orders of the Middle Ages. However, the reliability of the transmission from the Egyptian priests was confirmed only recently: in one of the Egyptian pyramids, a gallery with stone panels of 22 scenes from the life of Osiris, Thoth (Hermes) and Isis was found. Based on their plots, the connection with modern images of the Tarot is quite obvious.

One of the students of G.O.M. retained the technique of walking on the Major and Minor Arcana. She gave it to Grigory Romanovich Reinin. And Reinin passed on the Tradition to Victoria Yurievna Rogozova. So the tradition has been preserved and spread today. There are different points of view on the spread of the Tradition. Reinin believes that more people walks and leads the Arcana - the more chances for the Tradition to survive and grow. Victoria Yuryevna believes that the transmission of the Tradition requires a deep transformation, and you can “walk” into the Arcana yourself, but not everyone can lead.

Alexander Voronov generally guides the Arcana based on their description compiled by Crowley (it can also be found in the book of Gerd Ziegler and Aleister Crowley's book "The Book of Thoth"). Among the students of Reinin, Rogozova and Voronov, it has become a “good tradition” to lead the Arcana when the Masters leave somewhere for a while so that people do not get bored ...

Time will tell which one is right. And the Tradition lives its own life and allows changing the fate of an increasing number of those who have passed the full circle of the Major Arcana ...

About the Shadow Arcana

Shadow Arcana Tarot

The idea of supplementing the tarot deck with dark arcana began to periodically arise when the tarot deck was combined with the Sephiroth tree. There are two different ideas for a dark tree. One of them is called the Klipot tree and is built down from the main tree from the Sephira Malkuth. This tree can be called a “false tree”, it is generated by false ideas about the world order, such self-made theories of the world order cannot be counted now.
The idea of another variant of the dark or shadow tree was generated by the presence of the unmanifested sephirah Daath on the tree. This sephirah is called Knowledge and in fact it is she who opens access to the Tree.

Symbolically, it is a mirror, perhaps translucent, in which another world, mountainous or manifest, is seen as a reflection, likeness of the world of the observer. Hence the idea - as above, so below. But the mirror also has a “behind the looking glass” space, in order to get into it you need to see the lasso inside the mirror of Daath. Such an entrance allows you to see the hidden, shadowy side of the lasso. The individual shadow aspect of the arcana can be very different, not always positive, but just as the consciousness manifests only a very small part of the subconscious, so the shadow arcana reveals the space of the arcana in its entirety. Arcana become "alive".

Here is a description of them:

0. A - the heart of IAO - dwelling in ecstasy in the secret abode of thunder,
between Asar and Asi, filled with delight.
1. Lightning blazed more and more often, and Lord Tahuti rebelled. Voice
resounded in the Silence. And then One left and returned.
2. Now Nuit hid behind the veil to open the gates of her
sisters.
3. The Virgin of God reigned on the shell, like a pearl, she is looking for
Seventy for my Four. In her heart is Hadit, the invisible
magnificence.
4. Ra-Hoor-Khuit now rises and his dominion is established
in a blazing star.
5. And also the flaming Star rises, overshadowing the universe with grace.
6. And now, under the wings of Eros, youth admiring that
one, then another. He is Asar between Asi and Nefti. He comes out from behind
veils.
7. He rules the chariot of eternity drawn by white and black.
And therefore he is the reflection of the Fool, and the septenary veil is opened.
8. Now Mother Earth comes out with her lion, fair Sekhet,
Mrs Asi.
9. Now the Priest has hid behind a veil to keep his glory from
filth, so that his word does not sink into chatter.
10. And then the Father of all revealed himself as a mighty wheel; Sphinx,
the dog-headed god and Typhon fell into the sphere of his rotation.
11. And now the lady Maat has come with her pen and sword
judge the righteous, for the die has already been cast.
12. Then the Holy One appeared in the great waters of the North, as if
a golden dawn that brings grace to a fallen universe.
13. And Asar was hidden in Amenti, and the Lords of Time brought over
him a sickle that brings death.
14. And a mighty angel appeared in the form of a woman,
shedding grief on the flame that illuminates the pure
a jet with the imprint of a curse. And evil prevailed.
15. Then the Lord of Hem arose, a saint among the highest,
erecting his crowned scepter for the redemption of the universe.
16. He destroyed the towers of lamentation, shattering them into pieces in flames
his wrath, so that he alone survived the ruins.
17. And renewed, like a flowing fire, the holy virgin appeared,
turning their beauty into lightning strikes.
18. With her spells she summoned the Scarab, Lord
Chef-Ra, so that the waters parted, and the mirage of the towers collapsed.
19. Then the sun appeared in the cloudless sky, and Asya's lips
touched Asar's lips.
20. And now the Pyramid was built, so that initiation
happened.
21. And in the heart of the Sphinx the Lord Adonai danced, crowned
diadem of pearls and roses, admiring all
existence, oh yes, all existence.

The History of Tarot Cards and Its Most Beautiful Legends

Tarot is a realm that will never lose its appeal. The question of the origin of the Tarot is a very beloved and always hotly debated topic by many.

The secret of the origin of the Tarot has kept secrets for many centuries. I'll tell you about the most attractive stories. So:

4 main legends about Tarot:

  1. Origin from Atlantis
  2. Egyptian origin
  3. Gypsy origin
  4. Jewish origin (kabbalistic)

Lost Atlantis

Atlantis is a wealthy state that was located on an island in the Atlantic Ocean. It existed about 12 thousand years ago. Our era, which is counted from the birth of Christ, is only 2 thousand years now.

In this country of antiquity, giants lived, whose height was more than 2 meters, and they were all endowed with superpowers: both spiritual, intuitive, and physical superpower.

This civilization perished because of the flood and the earthquake and completely went under the water of the ocean. Many scientists and researchers are ready to bet that the Bermuda Triangle is the site of the sunken Atlantis.

The Bermuda Triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean where, for some incredible and absolutely fantastic reasons, sometimes planes, ships disappear and people die. There is a lot of controversy about the connection between Atlantis and the Bermuda Triangle.

But not so long ago, scientists made a discovery that shocked everyone. At the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle, a pyramid was found, much larger than even the pyramid of Cheops. But the most shocking thing for many was that there was more than one such find. So the version that Atlantis is in bermuda triangle, begins to receive more and more rights to its existence.

So, the Atlanteans possessed ancient scientific and philosophical knowledge and even before the flood they managed to transfer them to people of other countries. Tarot - this is the knowledge of the Atlanteans. It is believed that the Tarot in the form in which it is now is a deformed, pale copy of the elements of knowledge and writing of the lost civilization of Atlantis.

Egyptian origin

Egypt was one of the first countries that accepted the knowledge of the Atlanteans even before the flood of their civilization.

But since everyone knows about Atlantis, but no one can find it, so many people ask the question: “Was it there?”. Skeptical people believe that this is a beautiful fairy tale about the "ghost island". And they prefer the fact that the Tarot originated in Egypt.

The wisdom of the Tarot was encrypted in ancient Egypt in the frescoes on the walls of the temple and in gold chased sheets. This is how occult truths were depicted in symbols.

There is a legend that in Egypt there was a temple in which there were 22 rooms, on the walls of which symbolic paintings were depicted. From these pictures subsequently came the Great Arcana of the Tarot, that is, the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot.

"Arkan" ( arcane, arcanum) - in translation means "secret", hidden", "mystical", "mysterious".

"Tarot" ( Tar and Rho) - translated as “road” and “royal”, it turns out “Royal Way”.

Another tradition says that the Tarot comes from the Egyptian hieroglyphic "Book of Thoth". This book was created by the priests, based on the sacred knowledge that the God of wisdom and writing Thoth gave them.

A little later, images and numbers began to be stamped on the medals, then there were metal plates, they were replaced by leather plates, and then paper ones. This is how modern maps were born.

Today Tarot is printed on cardboard different quality sometimes laminated.

Gypsy origin

Everyone is used to thinking that only gypsies can guess. And this gypsy craft has always fascinated.

The legend about the gypsy origin of the Tarot says that once a very long time ago, the Higher Powers saw that the Earth was being filled with people who did not feel Love either for the World or for everything that is in it. And the Higher Powers were afraid that the universe would perish if the laws of the Universe became available to all people on Earth. After all, everyone then could have access to colossal opportunities, originally intended for the Highest Good of all.

Then the wise Forces encoded all the knowledge and laws of our Universe into the images of 78 cards. These cards were given to wanderers. Not all of them guessed that great knowledge was encrypted in these cards. The wanderers themselves were called gypsies.

It is known that the gypsies are descended from one of the tribes of Ancient Egypt. For example, the Spaniards called the gypsies "Gitanos" (derived from "Egiptanos" - "Egyptians"), and the British "Gypsies" (derived from "Egyptians" - "Egyptians"). So the gypsies have their roots in ancient Egypt and the legend of the gypsy origin merges with the legend of the Egyptian origin of the Tarot.

In the Middle Ages, the gypsies moved to Europe. It was thanks to them that Tarot became widely known in Europe. Gypsies told wonderful things about cards, fascinated people with them and used them to predict the future. However, as now.

Jewish origin

Has another name - Kabbalistic .

Kabbalah is an esoteric movement in Judaism. Judaism is the religion of the Jews.

Kabbalah is aimed at comprehending the Creator and Creation, at understanding the role and purpose of the Creator, at understanding the very nature of man, and at revealing the meaning of existence.

The basis of Kabbalah is composed of the works "Sefer Yetzirah".

The legend of the Jewish origin of the Tarot says that the Tarot is summary Kabbalistic knowledge.

And the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot contain Kabbalistic wisdom and correlate with the symbolism of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

The Tarot survived the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem because it was smuggled out by initiated Jews. So they saved the Tarot and it has come down to our times.

FAIRYTARO

FAIRY TARO

As a system that helps a person navigate the world, Tarot has now descended from the field of esotericism into the field of psychology. Tarot symbols are much more often interpreted psychoanalytically than cosmogonically. And new versions of both interpretations of the maps and the drawings themselves are being created (however, they rarely deviate from White's model). At the same time, psychology is becoming more and more connected with mythology, which makes it possible to decorate the Tarot not only with everyday, but also with fabulous images. For example, in Western literature there is a variant of such a "fabulous" Tarot, where the cards contain Western fairy tales, partly familiar to the Russian reader.

Such an interpretation includes Tarot in the field of fairy tale therapy and saves those interested in symbolic systems from excessive vague mysticism - showing that any mental and spiritual process, no matter how difficult to understand it, always deals with the reality of our everyday life, extremely simple in its origins. If Western Tarot cards need interpretation, then the essence of a familiar fairy tale is self-evident, and anyone can apply it to their life situation, according to the well-known proverb "A fairy tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it."In addition, a fairy deck can satisfy the psychological needs of the younger generation: after all, modern children are often interested in both symbols and cards, such as Tarot. Children's perception of fairy tales is good because it has not yet lost its integrity - and therefore takes on images as vivid and deep as they were centuries ago. For children, they are initially filled with that emotional, archetypal-integral content, which adults often do not notice. And the metaphysical searches of youth find a good basis in children's direct-figurative perception.

Today, a creative approach to map drawings is developing, modifying tradition - and its main drawback is often only an insufficiently substantiated correspondence between the traditional content of the map and the modern drawing. This usually happens when the variant of the artistic interpretation is selected only by external and superficial similarity with some symbol of the traditional deck, which does not affect the archetypal depth of this symbol in the general system of Tarot cards. Or if the maps are drawn simply arbitrarily, without any model, there is a danger that they will reflect only a subjective psychological process, but not an objective spiritual one.

Behind any fairy tale there is a myth, and its symbolism is always archetypal. Therefore, although fairy tales are a profanation of myths from the point of view of the most ancient universal mythology, they are emotionally close to us, and on the basis of figurative perception, one can recognize in them not only the situational psychological (which psychologists use), but also a deeper spiritual meaning of symbolism.

The most ancient thinking is based on analogies. Tarot, like astrology, is primarily work with analogies, which allows you to reach deeper layers of consciousness. Therefore, it is important to find true analogies to which the soul responds: which would clarify the meaning of the lasso, deepen its content, and reveal its modern philosophical meaning. These analogies, in order to serve as a hint and help to the soul, should be simple and beautiful. Based on the deep meaning of mythological archetypes and the astrological meaning of Tarot symbols, we will try to give a fabulous interpretation of Tarot cards using Russian scripts and well-known plots of foreign fairy tales. The task was to choose as simple and understandable plots as possible, so that the meaning of the card does not change, but opens up - it becomes clearer.

MAJOR ARCANA

Zero lasso.TRAMP (IVAN THE FOOL). The Russian image of the Jester of the Tarot deck is, of course, Ivan the Fool, committing unpredictable acts that put him on the brink of death, but also lead to unexpected luck.

The plot dynamics of the lasso is best revealed by the scenario of fairy tales, where the main character sets off, and more often is sent in search of the unknown: "Go there, I don't know where, find that, I don't know what." This goal of the path symbolizes unpredictability and freedom search, which emphasizes the traditional tarot card. A fairy tale card can depict, for example, uninhabited wild island where it goes Sagittarius Fedot(whom the king sent on a wandering, from a rational point of view, without a visible end, in order to seduce his wife in the meantime) - and dishes on a self-assembly tablecloth, which are served to the wanderer by an invisible hospitable host ( astrologically, Uranus ) fulfilling all his mental wishes. A self-assembled tablecloth or a wonderful sack where fairy-tale helpers hide are the most frequent finds of a wanderer: although there may be others (in a Chinese fairy tale, the hero finds a broom with a blow that can rejuvenate a person - traditional Chinese alchemy of immortality: the theme of Xian Taoism). The bottom line is that although the hero gains it really is not clear what: a miracle - it frees him from the hardships of life, like Fedot - from the oppression of the king.

Archetypally, the image of the Tsar embodies the society and its worldview. And such a fabulous story shows that the very first Tarot card sets the task of freeing the hero (consciousness of the “I”) from traditional attitudes - which at the end of the path can lead to a change in the King (public mind). No wonder Uranus is in charge of revolutions, especially in Russia!

The Russian interpretation of this plot is interesting, where the hero wins over the invisible owner of the island with friendly altruism, inviting him to share a meal. This surprises the one who, like the Lord God, was only used to fulfilling the desires of others and did not need anything himself! - therefore this incomprehensible who decides to keep the hero company, going along with him on the way back. Such non-trivial turns of thought distinguish the planet Uranus, which symbolizes everything unexpected and inexplicable that we clearly encounter in life and that grants us freedom from previous standards of behavior and social prescriptions.

It should be added that the possibility of a person helping God in their joint work is the idea of Kabbalah, which passed into the Tarot and is characteristic of Christian esotericism. As well as the Russian Orthodox philosophy of God-manhood (V.S. Solovyov and N.A. Berdyaev). The creation of the new presupposes the original unpredeterminability of being and belief in a miracle.

And this is more characteristic of the anarchist-free soul of Russia than of the regulated life of the West. Since the Uranian archetype reflects the character of our country, here we have "cards in hand": the plot of finding something is not clear - a very Russian theme, like the image of Ivan the Fool: the main character of most Russian fairy tales. Although the image of a simpleton is also in Western fairy tales, it does not carry such a positive emphasis - and there the prince more often becomes the king, as prescribed, than the fool - but with us, rather, the opposite is true. This map and the nature of Russia indicate that the choice will be made in favor of what is not expected.

I-th lasso. MASTER - "The Adventures of Pinocchio". key Pinocchio, who opens the doors to the magical theater, is an analogue of the magic wand and wand of the Magician on the traditional Tarot card. And in the plot of a fairy tale, like a Magician manipulating objects on a traditional Tarot card, Carlo, with his skill, turns an unhewn block into a doll - a creature similar to a person. Created by the mind and hands of a person comes to life - and helps him achieve his cherished goal: with the help of Pinocchio, Carlo acquires a new puppet theater. While working on the log, the master does not seem to set himself the task of creating an entire theater: but even the first creative act implicitly contains the ultimate goal of creativity. We may not be aware of it and even forget about it - and then, when life helps to complete what we took the first step towards, it seems like magic.

Life teaches to control the entire process of creativity, to consciously manage it - this is the meaning of the image of the Magician. This is a map of learning and development of intelligence - Mercury - the main tool in achieving goals. The image that Carlo sends Pinocchio to school is not archetypal. But, like our intellect, Pinocchio makes many mistakes, instead of studying at the school of life, preferring her theatrical game. He is led by the nose by the deceivers the fox and the cat: this can be compared with the fact that in mythology the beginning of intelligence is natural cunning - and in fairy tales for the smallest, the deceiver fox usually shows the mind. Also, the hero falls into the trap of easily acquiring money (entrepreneurial mind). But in the end, Pinocchio stops buying into external circumstances and, coping with them, finds what he was looking for: the key to the country of his dreams, which his creator put into him. The hero pulls off the cover of illusions: a hearth painted on canvas, and finds a real door to the world where fiction becomes reality.

The features of the first lasso also have a fairy tale " Alice in the Wonderland", which vividly describes operating with another (as they say today, virtual) the reality of our intellect. In order to feel at ease in the world of the Looking-Glass, Alice must understand her separation from it: the independence of her will from the restrictions that tradition imposes on consciousness. She needs to find herself in spite of the absurdity of the mind. Then, like the Magician of the Tarot, she is able to operate with the virtual reality of consciousness: to reduce and increase its size, to find what it is looking for, to enter it and leave it at will. This relatively new tale has gained popularity today, because mind control is a requirement of our time. (Astrologically, the aspect of the conjunctions of Neptune and Pluto, which occurs once every 400 years and is responsible for the potential for emotional and spiritual perception and transformation of reality, took place at the beginning XX centuries under the sign of Gemini - therefore, as they say in fairy tales, the emphasis on the virtual reality of the mind, as an inevitable background of any mental activity, will be relevant for another three hundred years and three years).

II lasso. ENCHANTRESS - " Princess Frog"(there is a similar Western tale - " mouse princess"). Ivan Tsarevich gets a frog as his wife: it seems to be inferior to the human spouses of his brothers. But by participation in the magical world of nature, where people have lost access, the Frog Princess surpasses them and elevates him before people.- Like the Priestess of the traditional deck, the sorceress acts as a guide in fairy tales the will of nature: which at first looks like a requirement of nature (Ivan Tsarevich must marry). But then the hero realizes that there is something more behind her: nature of life conceals in itself all conceivable and unthinkable human wonders.

According to the psychoanalytic interpretation, the bride in fairy tales is an analogue souls(emotional-psychic sphere Moon ), which gradually reveals its inner qualities. As the soul does not immediately reveal its perfection, the frog that caught Ivan's arrow in the swamp does not immediately appear as a princess. First, she bakes a cake, weaves a carpet and demonstrates her abilities as a craftswoman, gradually preparing the situation for her final transformation (which is more important than her professionalism, which does not yet make her human). The soul invisibly prepares for external self-disclosure, like a caterpillar wrapping itself in a cocoon before becoming a butterfly. The forcing of events (by Ivan Tsarevich, who burns the frog skin ahead of time) violates her plans, sending her to the distant realm of subconscious spheres (Koshchei the Immortal). But such a plot connects the will and mind of a person to the natural transformative process: and for consciousness, this process appears as a struggle with Koshchei ( Saturnian the archetype of the conservatism of the past, which does not give way to the free flow of life Moon).

The flow of life changes the world naturally and smoothly, just as smoothly the human soul changes. The mind is ahead of the possibilities of nature and therefore fights with it. What is won by the mind is fixed in nature: the frog remains the princess. But the natural course of things - fundamental for any process - this is the essence of the second lasso.

III lasso. QUEEN - we find this image, for example, in "Tale of Tsar Saltan", where the girl, promising to give birth to a hero, becomes a queen: the future for which she is ready knocks on her door in the form of a king (it can be recalled that the meaning of the letter of this lasso is Dalet - "door"). This image is associated with the fact that and on the traditional map, the queen of love is preparing to give birth, and in many ways this tale is about the ups and downs of the birth of the future, a better world: flourishing new city with the wonders of its culture, which would be worth depicting on this map. The city that has arisen from non-existence is ruled by the queen and her son - while the old world remains with the old king: as long as he does not dare to get acquainted with the new. But for this he must believe his feeling, and not just conflicting information (merchants and relatives) - which puts emphasis on the archetype Venus, mistress of the senses.

Image mistresses creation the Swan Princess also embodies, fulfilling all the whims of her savior - and thereby making the newly arranged kingdom more beautiful and attractive to the inhabitants of the old world. So feeling, bringing to life the masterpieces of cultural creation, gradually changes the world.

IV-th lasso. TSAR (IVAN-TSAREVICH) - " Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf","Ivan Tsarevich and the Serpent Gorynych", etc. Map Emperor most corresponds to the fabulous image of the young king, the strongest and most worthy among the contenders for the crown. In order to rightfully become king, the hero (Ivan Tsarevich) must defeat hostile forces, find or return the bride stolen by them. This heroic plot - one of the most frequent fairy tale plots of many peoples - symbolizes the development of human strength and his will to win. In the language of Jung's psychoanalysis, Ivan Tsarevich is looking for his anime: and it's about understanding yourself and show the true will of his "I". We do not always know what actually drives our actions, and even if we find out the truth, it will be relative: no matter how deeply we understand the situation, you can always understand it even deeper. The force on the action of a man is carried by him ideals often unconscious. Understanding the highest edge of our aspirations makes it possible to better connect to the inner source of strength, take an active position in life and overcome obstacles that hinder self-realization in the struggle.

Astrologically, this is the task of the sign Aries . In the mytho-religious sense, this is a struggle between good and evil. It will undoubtedly end in victory ... no, not good, that would be a simplification: after all, the concept of good changes over time. This fight will end in victory truth revealing the truth of the situation. And even if at the moment there is no opportunity to realize one's truth, the struggle for the ideal is never in vain: a person acquires the truth, which makes him more steadfast and spiritually strong. After all, true strength is the strength of the spirit, and the most difficult victory is over oneself.

V-th lasso. SAGE (EPIC BOGATYR). Map Hierophant(priest) of the traditional deck in fairy tales is projected onto the image sage. In Western tales, the wise old man often helps the young seeker with advice or gives him a drink of a liquid that bestows strength. K.G. Jung identifies this image as a separate archetype, citing a number of fairy tales of this type ( for example, a fairy tale about how an orphan boy lost a cow and in such trouble he met a wise old man who helped him find his way in life) . A sage adviser like sorcerer Merlin from the epic about King Arthur, often appears in computer games based on the plots of Celtic legends. The magician has the same image - Finn from Pushkin's fairy tale Ruslan and Ludmila". He knows the future and expects a hero to encourage him and direct his path, give him reliable support - which is symbolized by the sign corresponding to this card Taurus .

But in Russian children's fairy tales, a wise old man who has secret knowledge and plays the role of a priest for the hero is rare: he usually takes on an unobtrusive appearance like old woodman- but this is too natural a character for such a card (the 5th lasso draws the image of a conductor of the higher will, but, unlike the 2nd, not in the natural, but in the human aspect). And fairy tales about priests in ancient times were unpopular (apparently, because of the reverence for the profession itself).

And therefore the most colorful unity spiritual and material aspects of life, which this card symbolizes, can be identified through the fabulous image of a Russian epic character Ilya Muromets: the heroic strength of which, undoubtedly received in a spiritual way from the elders-kaliks of the passers-by, hints at the power of Taurus and his dedication. Ilya Muromets became the strongest of the heroes for the sake of the good mission of the unity of Russia and for the sake of liberating it from the invaders. Like other epic heroes (Dobrynya Nikitich, Mikula Selyaninovich), he does not just amuse himself with heroism: he puts the higher will into practice, embodying what must happen. The hero did not deserve his gift in any way: he simply received it - and just as simply gives it to people, as fairy-tale sages do.

VIth lasso. BROTHERS - " Seven Simeons". This is a typical fairy tale plot, where several brothers in one person(or friends) with different abilities, combine their efforts into one, which correlates them with the mythological image corresponding to this card Gemini . Together they make an impossible enterprise separately(in a Russian fairy tale, Elena the Beautiful is obtained on a ship from across the sea; and in a similar Chinese fairy tale, five Liu brothers, similar to each other like the five fingers of a hand, overcome the intrigues of an insidious mandarin).

Such an image in a psychological sense symbolizes merging together souls of different people - before the development of the ability substitution. This is practical alliance and contact in a broader sense than in symbolism love two lovers (Adam and Eve) on the popular tarot card (although the moment interchange qualities, as in the deck of A. Roofing). Recall that older pictures emphasize different variants the interaction of not two, but three people, and it is not so much about love itself, but about the dynamics of this interaction.

VIIth lasso. SOLDIER (CROSSROADS) - "Enchanted Kingdom".A brave soldier stands on guard for three nights, steadfastly withstanding the attacks of evil spirits - and his courage defeats her, reviving the kingdom enchanted by them.- Soldier: in fairy tales, a symbol of fearlessness and independence - reminds Charioteer of a traditional card, fearlessly riding across the battlefield, without reins: purely from the inside - driving the chariot of fate. (The plot of the fairy tale "Flint" by Andersen is similar, where a soldier defeats a witch and subjugates huge dogs) .

To animate the world around, to discern the pure and the living in the dead and impure - the task of the sign Cancer The to which this map maps. It symbolizes the inner filters of the soul, holding back what should not exist in order to give way to what should live. The world appears the more beautiful, the more the soul is able to perceive its harmony - to decipher, disenchant it. But for this, she must open herself to its manifestations without fear, not run away from them - which is the problematic of the sign of Cancer and this card.

VIII lasso. MERITS (TRUTH-TRUTH) .- These are tales about the search for truth: truth, goodness and justice, and about victory, the guarantee of which is personal improvement hero, which corresponds to the image of the card of justice, correlated according to the system of the sequence of signs of the Zodiac with the sign lion - the central lasso of human perfection. Unlike the fairy tales about Ivan's struggle with the Serpent / Koshchei ( I V-th lasso), where the hero has in advance all the necessary positive qualities for his feat, this card will correspond to the plot when the character himself acquires the necessary skills and is rewarded according to this.

True, it may seem that stories of this type, bearing a moral connotation (characteristic of Orthodox epics), are not very popular in modern society. Therefore, we will refer to the well-known fairy tale describing a scenario of personal merit that opens up a new vision of the world and its possibilities. This is " The Wizard of Oz". Intelligence who is looking for the Scarecrow, love hearts, which is sought Tin Woodman, and bravery, which the cowardly Leo acquires, are all the virtues of the fiery element, which are symbolized by the sign Leo.

It is characteristic here that when the heroes overcome the obstacles of the path and come to the goal - the magician Goodwin, so that he gives them the desired qualities, the magician says that they already possess them: they developed them along the way. And even the girl Ellie, who was looking for Goodwin to get home, it turns out, from the very beginning she could do it herself: with the help of her magic shoes. The great magician admits that all his magic is to distribute green glasses to the inhabitants of the city: to make life more beautiful. Otherwise, everyone gets from life what he deserves.

IX-th lasso. THE HERMIT - " Cinderella"Archetypically here it is correct to change the image from the male ( Hermit traditional deck) to a female, reflecting the zodiac sign corresponding to this cardVirgin and the mythology of the economic goddesses of the harvest ( Demeter and Persephone whose epithet Bark means Virgo). It matches the letter iodine, symbolizing the divine spirit entering a person - whence the image of the Hermit of the traditional card. But the spirit, according to the original tradition, is feminine, and it affects and transforms the material, bodily, feminine nature - and the knowledge hinted at by the lantern in the Hermit's hand is here of a practical nature.

In a fairy tale philanthropy and modesty, dedication to the end, inherent in the sign of Virgo, crowns the light of love. Thus, inner perfection, born far from human eyes and sometimes unaware of itself, meets with unexpected recognition from people. And internal viability sometimes the more a person in society, the longer he was independent of him and focused on his work: the more he, in his seclusion, managed to develop in himself what others do not have. In the Kabbalah tree, this card connects Tiphereth Sun and Chesed Jupiter, placing individual abilities in all their solar brilliance at the service of Jupiter's social plan.

In the plot of this tale, the control over time, inherent in the goddesses of the Virgo archetype, is also important, as the observance natural order, without which the magic of life is impossible (the transformation of Cinderella into a beautiful princess). A similar plot of a hardworking stepdaughter, rewarded according to merit, is in the fairy tale " Twelve months", the main episode of which: the violation of the natural order (of the seasons) and its restoration - turns us to the central mythological plots of this archetype (the abduction of Persephone by Hades and her return for the flowering of life).

Xth lasso.SPINDLE - " Spin at the hole". The spindle is associated with the image of spinning the thread of fate, as well as with rotation Wheels of Fortune traditional tarot cards. Initially - the wheels of time: after all, Fortune is originally the goddess of the harvest, bearing fruit in her own time, and only then - good luck. Going down into the hole for the lost spindle, the kind girl receives a casket with great wealth for her small services, which she willingly renders; angry and impatient - a chest with coal, tar, etc.

This is how the social planet works Jupiter , corresponding to this card, unexpectedly generously rewarding for work and just as much punishing for omissions. By creating a resonance of the individual's activity, society multiplies both its achievements and its miscalculations many times over. This map shows the relationship between pattern and chance. To be successful, you need both. Opportunities given to the heroines are the same: from the point of view of divine justice, the world is arranged in such a way that everyone has the opportunity to deserve the happiness that he needs - but does he make constant efforts to ensure that sooner or later chance will lift him to heaven?

There are many variations of this plot - for example, our famous fairy tale " Morozko". The image of social success, which the wheel of Fortune map expresses, is also well shown in Western fairy tales, where acquired abilities or wealth, elevating a person, are not good (for example, " Little Tsakhes" Hoffman) - and therefore Fortune throws the hero off the pedestal. We do not have an emphasis on the movement of the wheel of Fortune, not only up, but also down - probably because the top is seen in an Aquarius way in sky-high heights and always seems to be an unattainable goal. And everything that has been achieved so easily turns into dust, in the life changes of the wheel of time, that all the time you have to start moving from the very beginning - that is, all the time moving up. Therefore, we have not developed a culture of downward movement, and fairy tales do not reflect it.

XI-th lasso. tamer - "Puss in Boots". A terrible cannibal lion appears next to him, a small mouse in his paw. Like the Tamer petting the lion in the traditional tarot card, Puss in Boots embodies skill to perfection. cultural interaction Libra . Knowing how best to apply them to achieve success, he, like the helper animals of ancient myths, helps the human owner overcome all obstacles, rising to the heights of social status. He strikes up friendly relations with the king, rendering useful services to him in time, and does not attack the ogre when he becomes a lion, but asks him to turn into a mouse. To master such diplomacy is not an easy task. But it is the cultural methods of activity that give the highest result.

The sign of Libra is a male sign, and if the economic activity of the Virgo is archetypally female, then cultural diplomacy is more of a male affair, so again it is logical to change the gender of the main character of the card plot. Although, you can find fairy tales with a similar female image: for example, Masha from the fairy tale " Masha and the Bear": who thinks out how to make the bear himself inform her to her grandparents.

There are quite a lot of fairy tales where animals become human helpers, often episodic. And it is characteristic that in these tales the animals help the hero out of their own motives - but usually because he wins them over in a humanely humane cultural behavior: first of all, does not go against their first request (does not kill them or save their cubs) . AT fairy tale "Puss in Boots" the hero sews boots for the cat with the last money, and d even Masha the bear agreed to help take the pies to her family for taking care of him. Caring for the younger and lower in position elevates a person, raises his own status and self-image.

The meaning of the archetypal idea XI lasso and the cultural sign of Libra - the more people take care of the surrounding ecology of nature and human relations, the more they will be people. When they do not listen to her quiet, unobtrusive advice and abuse her, at least a little (for example, Ivan Tsarevich, not listening to his assistant wolf, kidnaps the firebird along with the cage, and the horse along with the bridle etc.) - this leads to unexpectedly serious troubles. The hero manages to fix them only at the cost of new exploits, learning to trust the advice of his junior assistant.

XII lasso. WATER (drowned) - "Sadko". Sadko's game on the harp is so liked by the Sea King- Russian analogue Neptune that he washes the merchant off the ship with a wave and takes him to the underwater kingdom. There he asks the harpman to play some more, and the more Sadko plays, the more the waves break out. The sea kingdom begins to dance, and ships sink in the sea - and then the singer, in order to stop fratricide, breaks the strings.

Sadko turns out a victim situations, temporarily falling outside the bounds of normal life. But, according to the mild influence of the planet Neptune, it cannot be said that it was unpleasant: he is hospitably received by the underwater kingdom - a psychological analogue unconscious spheres. (You may recall that on the traditional map the Victim is suspended in a free position on a flowering hedge). It is no coincidence that Sadko ends up in the sea palace, where there were few people: Vodyany used to like his skill, and he helped the poor gusler become a merchant by giving golden-finned fish. Although this change of reality occurs spontaneously: King Neptune, who interrupts the merchant when he is carrying goods to Novgorod, sometimes makes us relax at the most unforeseen moment (recall that he is also in charge of diseases).

Psychologically, the central dramatic turn of the plot may also turn out to be relevant: despite the wonders and beauties of the underwater world, Sadko is forced to interrupt the euphoria of the holiday: to silence his song in order to calm the resonance of the wildly rampant elements, fraught with the destruction of external life. Let's pay attention to Sadko's cultural skills and ethical attitudes, which were emphasized by the previous map and which only made it possible for him to contact another reality and return to his homeland without loss. The unconscious spheres of Neptune make one doubt the mindsets, turning them over - and the music of Chaos sometimes attracts more than ordinary life. But Sadko remains faithful to his love and his native land - and therefore does not remain in the magical kingdom of eternity.

The inversion that the planet Neptune causes in the mind can be compared to another legend: " The legend of the invisible city of Kitezh", disappeared under water so as not to get to the enemy, and appearing to people only as a reflection of an earthly city. Similarly, the spiritual reality that the Neptune archetype symbolizes often does not have an obvious earthly incarnation. But it undoubtedly overturns the usual social ideas, forcing us to look at the world from another position: the impersonal position of universal connection and love. Kitezh reflected in the lake - and above the lake the nature of the Russian forest sways, makes noise and sings.

XIII lasso. BABA YAGA (WITCH), KOSHCHEY THE IMMORTAL - personifications Of death. The meaning of the Tarot card is that there is no death: it is only a transition between two states of life. But such a positive idea still needs to be reached, and the essence of the fairy tale plot is in the victory over death, which seeks to take away the most precious thing from life, prompting the hero to fight for it. So in a fairy tale Swan geese"Death appears as Baba Yagakidnapping a little brother from a girl,- but she manages to find him and hide him from the persecution of evil forces.

AT " The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs"death turns around witchplunging the princess into eternal sleep with a poisoned apple, who is rescued by her fiancé. Like this in " sleeping beauty"evil witchportends a born baby death from a spindle prick, until Prince Charming wakes her up.

Whatever the cause of death: the natural course of events or the poison of envy or resentment - love conquers it: in love (and not in death, which is only an incentive for the manifestation of love) - the potential for rebirth. But death itself is dramatic, and all the more inevitable the more natural it is. From old fairy tales, this drama describes " Snow Maiden": where spring awakening of nature (fire of feeling- in the version of Rimsky-Korsakov ) destroys the possibility of the former, frozen in winter existence. Here nnot only death serves the rebirth of nature, but the rebirth itself turns into death.

Regeneration - sign problem scorpio corresponding to this arcana. And here is the most vivid fabulous image - Koshchei the immortal: where death and immortality closed, forming a dilemma: is immortality necessary if it does not contain the rebirth of life anew? On the traditional map, the positive of death is that it carries the possibility of renewing life, destroying the obsolete and acting as a stimulus for the transformation of the life process. In fairy tales, folk wisdom does not color images of death positively - although in the Tarot picture, the beauty of the wise Vasilisa, who waits until Ivan Tsarevich takes her out of Koshchei's dungeon into the world, can give such a color to the picture; the charm of a sleeping beauty or a dead princess in a crystal (invisible to the eye) coffin.

XIV lasso.JIN - " Aladdin and the magic lamp". Jin is most consistent with the Alchemy card, which is in charge of the creative transformation of the visible, surrounding life on the basis of a hidden internal transformation process. Jin is a fabulous image of the Kabbalistic " world being", fulfilling the desires of those who create and compose it.- But only Aladdin, a character with a pure childlike soul, who does not use his realization power for the selfish purposes of domination, can get a wonderful item that gives power to its owner and become the master of a genie that can bring any project to life. Aladdin needs wealth in order to marry the daughter of the Sultan, whom he loves, but not at all in order to rise above others and become sovereign himself.

In modern children's literature, the image of a genie is associated with a fairy tale " Old Man Hottabych". And in it all witchcraft, aimed at fulfilling subjective desires, suffers a frank failure (for example, Hottabych seeks Volka wealth, from which he turns out). Hottabych's prospect is to become magician in the circus, where his abilities cannot harm anyone: but only in a visible way bring miracles into the world. The image of an ordinary worker who brings his ideas to the final, everyday realization, when he does not have to redo what he has done again, is the pinnacle Sagittarius , the sign of this card. After all, the purpose of this sign is to translate the idea into the matter of life, and to do it well: best of all!

XVth lasso. LORD OF DARKNESS (DEVIL). Traditionally, this is the image of the prince of this world: the ruler of the world of matter, and therefore darkness - which symbolizes the sign Capricorn , the darkest time of the year.- The rulers of material wealth often appear in fairy tales devils, in Western fairy tales, they are vitally interested in taking the soul from people in exchange for it, which they often succeed. But in the tales of the Russian people, who are not particularly focused on acquiring wealth (which therefore has accumulated in only five percent of the population), the devils are not as terrible as in the West. Can be remembered" Baldu Pushkin, where the hero fools the devils, as in many Russian fairy tales. The stinginess of the priest here emphasizes the zodiac characteristic of Capricorn. Fool Jester).

Having come to terms with the idea that the image of the terrible Devil, promising people mountains of gold, has not taken root in the Russian mentality (although this can be a tragic image, like in Vrubel or Lermontov, when it emphasizes loneliness and the creative and creative principle inherent in Capricorn), you can return to the image Koshcheya , in Pushkin's way, depicting him on forged chest with gold lurking in his underworld, - and leaving the scorpion image of the death of Baba Yaga.

Other characters from famous fairy tales can be found for the role of the cruel lord of countless treasures. This is, for example, a one-eyed ataman from a fairy tale Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" (remember that the name of the letter XV arcana - "eye"). Cave- the area of darkness (hidden), and not without reason its owner - the ataman of robbers, who in an unholy way took away his treasures from a clear, bright life. And even honest Ali Baba is forced to hide them: which provokes further drama of the plot. As in cases of falling into the underground halls of death, it is important for the hero to find not so much wealth as output from the cave where it was hidden. A secret treasure does not bring joy: for a rich man or a poor man, an honest person or a robber, it is fraught with danger and causes problems. It must be revealed to the world or lost.

In children's literature, we can find another interesting image of the almighty ruler, in Capricorn's winter way - this The Snow Queen. She rules the closed realm of cold and ice, where Kai falls, relying only on her pragmatic interest and neglecting love and joy of life, as is often characteristic of the representatives of the Capricorn sign. The hero, who has attached his little sleigh to the Snow Queen's flying sleigh, is carried away by a distant goal, worthy of forgetting the familiar and close for her sake: it’s not for nothing that Kai in the ice kingdom puts together the word " eternity". But life in its natural manifestations perishes: as roses wither, which were touched by the breath of the Snow Queen.

The lost warmth and fullness of life is returned to the hero by the caring love of his sister. So, in Western fairy tales, relatives often save the heroes who fell for him on the bait from the devil: say, older brothers younger brother deprived of their self-interest. The theme of kindred mutual assistance is also the sphere of Capricorn, symbolizing the "karma" of the family.

XVIth lasso.DESTRUCTION (LIGHTNING). This arcanum reflects destruction achievements of the past and its fetters, due to release the internal forces on new life- symbolized by the planet Mars . Such a process serves as the finale of the tales of Koshchei the Immortal: when the hero breaks the needle - the death of Koshchei hidden in the egg- and along with this, Koshchei's castle collapses and the spell of his kingdom crumbles to dust.

The destruction of the world, ordinary and even more magical, built by previous arcana, very much reflects the image old women at the broken trough in " Tale of the fisherman and the fish"- where a moral emphasis is placed on the internal causes of such destruction, as is usually interpreted in Tarot cards. After all, although the magic of the fish helps the old woman to find everything she wants, external changes of fate do not change her inner being in any way. Similarly, humanity (technocratic society) today strives for unlimited expansion, which is limited only at the very source of existence.

The old woman from the fairy tale cannot subjugate eternity, which she lives and breathes, and this puts a limit to her material capture. Wanting to give human orders to the magic fish, she rejects her invisible, incomprehensible help and is left alone with her human poverty.

It is interesting that in Pushkin's fairy tale the image of integrity and single life world, and his animated character is not only Rybka, but also the sea. With each next request of the old woman, it changes its color and becomes more and more formidable.- visibly showing a reaction higher powers(Nature, God) to its expansion.

When we return to the origin, history and destiny begins anew. This is the positive of this lasso, the theme of which is not just to destroy the past, but to point the way to the future.

If we lived in the last century, the recommendation of this card would be simple: if you feel the will of God that exceeds your own understanding (the fiery element of the planet Mars), trust it, and it will lead you where you need to go. But modern man is not inclined to trust something that he does not understand: and where is the guarantee that the will of God subconsciously leads us, and not society (mythologically, this is a single archetype), which, as before, dominates the personality, while how today, according to the demand of the time, should the individual rise above it? And the task of cognition destroys the impulse of inner movement: a person needs to meaningfully achieve what he has touched with the help of invisible forces.

XVII lasso.WATER LIVING AND DEAD.- After the destruction to the foundations of the previous lasso, the renewal of life on a new foundation follows. Living and dead water- a frequent attribute of fairy tales (here, for example, the image of the elder Finn, reviving Ruslan, treacherously killed by Farlaf in the poem " Ruslan and Ludmila").- and the traditional sign symbol Aquarius that this card symbolizes. Dead water (Saturn, fixation of awareness) heals the wounds of matter, living water (Uranus, movement of energy) blows spirit into it. Eternal free relationship, interpenetration of matter and spirit, inorganic Cosmos and living nature - the theme of this lasso, where a girl animates a desert planet with the living water of cosmic spheres. The heavenly is reflected in the earthly, and the earthly influences the heavenly - so the infinity of the cosmos serves as a guarantee of the eternity of life, nourishing the dream of the resurrection and immortality of the hero of a fairy tale, despite the drama of earthly events.

Dream come true - the task of Aquarius: it becomes possible when the thought and soul as a mirror reflects the world (and not their own claims and problems). So on a traditional map, the star of an idea reflects itself in clear waters earth. And if you catch a modern image, in Aquarius, a wonderful fulfillment of a dream is described by a Soviet fairy tale "Flower-seven-flower", where best project the use of magic flower petals turns out to be selfless desire of a girl to help a sick boy(the rest of her requests to the flower do not leave a noticeable trace in the world). This tale teaches that the power of incarnation must be used wisely: is the idea worthy of its realization? It may be recalled that the star of the Tarot card is also seven-pointed: it is a symbol of seven different planets, the mixture of influences of which forms the matter of life.

XVIIIth lasso. MIRACLES (FULL MOON). The image of the full moon in our subconscious, films and cartoons is associated with emotional depths, immersion in which reveals the magic of what is happening. This strange lasso corresponding to the sign Pisces , describes the course of history and evolution and the invisible participation in this process of forces rationally inaccessible to us - which brings to life all forms and imperceptibly helps their existence. The twilight background of the endless change of forms on the traditional map can carry a sense of the futility of what is happening: this world is just a dream.

However, in fairy tales, the theme of the miraculous help of invisible forces is usually revealed positively - drawing, for example, image of Emelya with a pike in his hand in a fairy tale By pike command, by my will". AT edra going home by themselves, and sleighs going without a cart describe the natural desires of a person. The pike here performs in the usual manner conductor the will of nature(nature, Moon), which directly helps the realization of human intentions when they are environmentally friendly and do not harm it. Emelya's task is to release the stream of life (pike), not to impede the course of things: the rest will be done by the will of this stream itself. Here the proverb is appropriate: laziness is the engine of progress. Emotionally reflects the moon and image weeping princess-Nesmeyana: nothing in reality pleases her, but Emelya manages to cheer her up - again, by the will of higher powers.

XIX lasso.FIREBIRD - " The Little Humpbacked Horse". The horse and the firebird are characteristic symbols of a person flying across the sky sun associated with this map. Drawing the luminary of a new day, she symbolizes the call to the creativity of a new life.

Life is renewed through creative realization human: revealing it individual abilities. This process is fully described by Ershov's fairy tale, where Ivanushka, before becoming a king and a written handsome man: that is, changing his social status and even his nature, like mythological heroes, performs a number of feats: overtakes the solar mare, catches the firebird, brings the king-maiden to his native city, takes out her ring from the bottom of the sea and frees the whale. The pinnacle of his exploits is bathing in boiling water - which speaks of the energy inherent in legendary heroes in battles (in the German epic, the hero warms up so much that the water in the barrel where he wants to cool down boils). And this hot energy is also a feature of the solar archetype.

In world mythology, the solar gods patronize the heroes, and the horse inherits omniscience from the luminary surveying the whole world, which the humpbacked horse, helping Ivanushka, also possesses. The constancy of energy and omniscience are the archetypal features of the luminary, and it is not for nothing that in astrology it correlates with the heart - which acts as the best adviser of a person and, while he is alive, never stops his movement.

XX lasso.JUDGMENT (RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD). This map shows a radical, revolutionary transition to a new way of life. So the first thing that comes to mind is Cipollino" or" three fat men": modern fairy tales here are about revolution. If we all get together, the inner merge in a single impulse, the power of the planet Pluto responsible for collective energies, mobilized by the interaction of people, will make it possible to carry out the overdue transformations.

But in order for such a close interaction to arise, and the energy to "go", an idea is needed that could unite everyone, affecting deep emotions of people. And we need a leader-provocateur who would be able to awaken the perception of this idea, awakening the dormant layers of the collective consciousness to movement. This role is played tear-inducing bitter onion-Cipollino or sowing turmoil gunsmith Prospero. The situation of the card causes irritation and discomfort until the harmony of deep unity is achieved.

A more calm and familiar fairy-tale image of awakening from death - the groom (prince, prince) wakes up his beloved from the sleep of death with a kiss ("The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs", "sleeping Beauty" or " Sister Alyonushka and brother Ivanushka", where the witch, having drowned Alyonushka in the river, illegally takes her place and orders her brother-goat to be killed: but the truth comes to light, and Alyonushka is resurrected by her fiancé, and the villagers, having united, kill the witch).

The plots of these tales are that the overtaking danger of imminent death is followed by a rebirth to life and happiness. One day you can escape fate by flight: like a princess who, because of the persecution of her stepmother, leaves her father's house and finds refuge in the forest. But twice this fails: the situation must escalate to the limit, cause the most serious conflict - only then will it be resolved. Only the deep drama of life (the poison of a poisoned apple, the needle of a spinning wheel) awakens strength in radical change surrounding circumstances - which correlates these tales with the plot Arcana XXI.

XXI-th lasso. HOUSE (EARTH, UNIVERSE) - the image of their home, the Earth and the Universe are archetypally close - as M. Eliade shows, for the ancients, the world axis often passes through their home, and native places are thought of as the center of the world. In astrology, this idea is symbolized by the new ruler of this card - Saturn , but in connection with the image of the native home, one can also recall the former ruler - moon . And the simplest fabulous reflection of the card will be " Teremok" (or " Mitten", from which the animals made themselves a hut). Lunar dynamics XXI the th lasso and our earthly home reflects the idea of a fairy tale: no matter how much is built, you can always complete it; and how many people did not fit in the house, you can fit more there.

Although there is something that puts a limit to this: Saturn is the principle of the finiteness of everything. Both time and space are limitless (as the dancer-universe shows on the traditional map), and yet the laws of the universe limit us. What happened can no longer be corrected: but the past serves as the foundation for the future, and all events are steps in the formation of life. It is this progress that forms the infinity of perspective (the lunar continuity of the transmission of life along the chain of births and traditions), along with the finiteness of real Saturnian achievements at the moment (as this card is usually interpreted).

From modern fairy tales, he draws a picture of the universe " The little Prince"Saint Exupery: his long journey through the universe must end on his home planet. There are a billion flowers on earth, but the Little Prince must return to his home and live for his Rose, for him the only one in the world.. This is the basis of its existence - the foundation of life, which is built by the planet of limitation Saturn.

MINOR ARCANA

For description minor arcana: dynamic deployment of the elements - the movement of the plots of well-known fairy tales, where traditional representatives of these elements participate, can be used. According to medieval beliefs, the water is inhabited by undines (mermaids), live in the ground gnomes, in the air elves and in fire salamanders. The story of salamanders did not fall into the use of children's fairy tales: apparently, due to the danger of the elements of fire. The rest of the characters are popular. Andersen's tale Little Mermaid fully describes the problem one elements of feelings. Adventures Thumbelina paint the search inherent in signs air . Story snow whites, who came to visit the gnomes, reflects the drama of the elements land (in particular, at the end we find a typical scenario of the death-rebirth of the Virgo sign). A description of the transformation, which is ruled by the elements fire , can be found in a fairy tale "The Scarlet Flower", the very name of which is associated with a flame (this is a typical scerarium of the transformation of a monster, and the Russian image of a red flower reveals the essence of the element of transformation).

Representatives of the elements can be depicted on the cards themselves: gnomes, elves and mermaids (2 mermaids, 3 mermaids, etc., as is partly done in the mentioned deck), then red flowers (or blossoming branches that depict the traditional version) will correspond to the fire elements of fire, although initially wands are torches). But you can limit yourself to pictures of the plot deployment.

Since these tales largely reflect the Western logic of perceiving the elements, the sequence of the elements retains the same logic. The basis is matter (the element of earth), a feeling blossoms on it (water flows). Feeling is nourished by thought (the element of air). Thought gives rise to energy for action (the element of fire), which changes matter, closing the circle of elements. In the northern latitudes there is always a lack of natural energy, therefore the element of fire appears to be the most inaccessible. We often use the same logic: earth-water-air-fire. But archetypally the highest is still air (spirit, which by nature is closer to thought than energy).

In conclusion, it should be noted that today the set of fairy tales that children know and watch on TV is changing. However, modern Western cartoons are often devoid of archetypal depth (emotionally quite primitive), and there is still no stable set known to everyone. In the future, perhaps, someone will want to form such a deck. But we must hope cultural heritage, reflected in the fairy tales mentioned here, will not disappear - and will delight our children and their parents for a long time to come.

APPENDIX

"BALETTARO"

The dynamics of internal development, which is hidden in the Tarot cards, can be expressed not only in words and images, but also directly in motion. First of all, of course, in the alternation of life events - as well as in the psychological phases of self-understanding ("individuation" according to Jung.)

As an example of a dynamic symbolic series, one can briefly outline ballet performance of 22 small scenes, which could be built on the symbolism of the major arcana of the Tarot. It could be called " Creation" or " Comprehension"- on the basic idea of tarot cards.

Judging by the fact that Tarot is becoming more and more popular with us, maybe someone wants to stage such a ballet?

The rest of our description will help to see the Tarot cards as a process. As you know, if the images are in charge of the right hemisphere, then the movement is in charge of the left, as well as speech and logic. Thus, a dynamic representation will facilitate the understanding of the Tarot symbolic system for people of a logical type: whose perception is not based on a static image (as in people of an emotional warehouse), but on a causal chain of phenomena.

I part.

0 lasso ( Jester) . A man with a bundle in white clothes moves in different directions: without taking a step forward, but all the time turning to the sides. Finally, he approaches the cube standing in the middle and leans against it.

I lasso ( Mage) . He takes a golden cloak from the cube, throws it over himself, revealing the attributes of the elements lying there: a bowl, a sword, a disk and a rod. He takes them in turn, summoning the elements. The elements appear in turn, showing their characteristic movements. Smooth - water woman in green; lung - man-air in blue; confident - earth woman in brown, sharp - fire man in red.

II lasso ( Priestess) . A woman in emerald white with the disc of the Moon appears, takes the wand from the Magician: one end up, the other down, and draws a line from top to bottom. She is in a band of light moving from top to bottom, like a conductor of a stream. Round dances of people-stars dressed in white (shiny) appear, rotate and close into a single circle surrounding her.

III lasso ( empress) . The light falling on the woman turns yellow. The stars are moving away, and the elements are approaching her. Having received her blessing, they form an interweaving of a common dance. Then they leave and bring the gate.

IV lasso ( Emperor) . The elements enter the gates and bring out of them the Emperor, previously hidden in the darkness, in a red and gold robe, forming a structure of five components (life) in the dance. Then the Emperor sits on the throne to the side, with the heads of rams (wears a helmet with ram's horns). He raises the ankh (Egyptian key of life). The backlight turns green.

V lasso ( Hierophant) . Dance of life in the foreground. Flowers, bright light, green and multi-colored clothes replace the cosmic cold of snow-white stars. Fight of two figures: in black and white. To resolve their dispute, they approach the throne of the Hierophant - he blesses both with his finger - and stop at the throne, which plunges into darkness.

VI lasso ( Two ways) . A man and a woman appear among the flowers in the foreground (a close image is Adam and Eve). A woman draws a man to her. But from the mountains in the background, an angel descends solemnly, resembling a man (the idea of twins). He tells the woman-life to move away and takes the man to the mountains.

VII lasso ( Chariot) . Background image of a chariot. A man appears holding the reins of two sphinxes: dark (black, brown, purple) and light (white, beige, light lemon). One pulls him in one direction, the other in the other: the complexity of management is emphasized. The illumination on the floor (their path) may depict black and white stripes (in fate). Finally, he manages to control the controls, and the sphinxes give him a lift to the cube in the middle (or just to the center of the stage).

Arcana VIII ( Justice) . They put a blindfold on him. twilight lighting. He guides their movement with his hands, like scales. Either one figure is active (raises), the other is passive (falls), then vice versa. They change places. The man extends his hand to the light figure and pushes the dark one aside.

IX lasso ( Hermit) . He removes the bandage and turns to a patch of light that appears on the floor. The spot moves, and the person rushes after it. It runs away in unpredictable zigzags, the person reorients, catching it with a look and movement. Finally, he manages to catch up with the spot and stops inside. (He can also move along with a stick on which a lantern is mounted, which, as it were, forms a spot of light that a person is chasing. At the last moment, he confidently puts the lantern next to him and finds himself in a circle of light).

X lasso ( Wheel of Fortune) . Round dance of spots of light (or people-stars, divided into threes). Anubis (who is carried up by the Wheel of Fortune), the Sphinx (who sits on top of it) and the Dragon (who is thrown down) appear in turn. The will of Anubis sets the rotation of spots of light (triads). The Sphinx stops them and summons four animals: Taurus, Lion, Eagle and Angel, which reveal the secret of his mysterious nature, created from the four elements. Their dance is a reversal of the dance of the elements in turn (Taurus - earth: plowing, Leo - fire: the energy of the sun, Eagle - water: that is, thunderclouds and rain, Angel - air: flight of thought). After their dance, they stop in a regular quadrangle. The Dragon frightens them away: they leave on four sides. And the spots of light begin to rotate faster until they close into a single circle, in which the person remains. Everything is covered in darkness.

II part.

XI lasso ( tamer) . A woman and a lion (maybe even a dragon from the previous scene) appear in a bright spot. A woman pacifies a lion with caress. At the end of the scene, he lifts her leg (the other is crossed at the knee and swings like a pendulum several times).

XII lasso ( Victim) . Background of a swinging pendulum. Or a double cube, on which a woman stands on one leg, with her hands turned up - so that the cast shadow forms an inverted reflection with her hands down.

A man sits in a narrow circle of light. Figures in dark (devils) are approaching him. He makes a movement towards - his circle expands, the dark forces recoil and leave. Then there are figures in gray, scary, shaggy (illusions of the collective unconscious). They, too, cannot cross the line. The man takes a few steps towards them, the circle expands even more, the chimeras run away in fright. The pendulum swings.

Then 10-12 angels in red appear and surround the circle. The man takes a step towards them, and the circle disappears. They have swords that they cross over his head. The man remains defeated. The angels cover it in red.

XIII lasso ( Death) . A long line of people (in green). Along it passes Death with a scythe. People duck when she is near, then rise again. At the end, along with the people, the lying person begins to rise. He crawls to the cube standing in the middle, gets up and lifts it above his head.

XIV lasso ( Creation) . People also take out a cube each and begin to build a tower. From two sides moving helping them, the Sun and the Moon. Finally, the tower is built. The jubilation of people who raised their hands. Again, from the side, the illuminated figure of a woman standing on a double cube with her arms raised.

XV lasso ( Devil) . The Devil appears with horns and a tail. The light moves on it, then falls on the pyramid: illuminating the fact that people are chained to the fruits of their labor: to the brick cubes from which they built the universe. The devil mockingly points them to the chains. People pose as slaves who are not able to move away from the pyramid they built.

XVI lasso ( Lightning) . The light flickers on and off a couple of times. The background is a triangle with a shining eye of God. The pyramid is falling apart. People run away. Each on their own with their own cube. They try to say something to each other with gestures, but they do not understand each other, they turn to the neighbors either to the left or to the right - they turn away from them. Everyone gesticulates at the same time, then everyone stands on their cube and freezes like a statue.

XVII lasso ( Star) . Round dances of brilliant stars appear again, surround people as a connection between the disparate points of the cubes. The stars give water to people from the bowl - they come to life, then they cover them with a veil. People fall asleep lying down and sitting in resting positions.

XVIII lasso ( Moon) . The stars are leaving. The moon is dancing in emerald white, approaching each of the people and carefully checking whether he is sleeping. Purple light. Gray chimeras also roam among humans.

XIX lasso ( The sun) . The light turns yellow. People are waking up. They lay out their bricks in a semicircle in the background close to each other, leaving one gap between the cubes. The Sun dances in the center - people greet him.

XX lasso ( Court) . Through the gap appears Death with a scythe. (Open coffin in the background). On the sides of the Sun and the Moon. Death again swings the scythe along a row of people, but people hold hands and do not let the one who bends down from her swings fall. They surround death in a semicircle. As they approach, Death drops the scythe and runs away.

XXI lasso ( Universe) . A wreath of people with flowers in their hands. It is spinning, in the middle a woman in white (who was standing on a cube) is dancing, with a snake in her hands she performs a Bacchic dance of ecstasy. A man (who was in red) joins her. The Jester appears from the side, again not knowing where to take a step. The ring of people shifts in the opposite direction, then crumbles, instead of them appear starry circles of figures in white. The man and woman dance for a while, then they also leave. The jester wanders between crouched and hushed circles of stars. Then they go in different directions, and he remains in the center alone, in an unstable form of a question, leaning on his staff in a patch of light. The light goes out.

Chapter 0

Once upon a time there was a Jester - a pure, naive soul. One day, looking up at the sky, among the dark clouds, he saw a rainbow for the first time. The rainbow beckoned to itself with its divine beauty and resembled a road connecting the earth with the sky and leading to the abode of the Gods. It seemed to the jester that the rainbow smelled of stars, the sun, rain, meadow grasses, and something else, exciting and unusual. She was very close, and it was only necessary to walk a little to be convinced of this. The jester decided to check his guesses, and without thinking twice, got ready to go.

Chapter 1

But before setting off on a journey, the Jester decided to visit the Magician, who lived on the border of two worlds, possessed of a strong will, incredible energy, and was able to control objects, people, and events. He heard that the Magician did it with the help of a staff, a goblet, a sword and a pentacle, and he decided to ask the Magician for them, and suddenly they are needed - anything can happen on the road. The magician stood at the altar and performed some kind of ritual in which those very objects were involved. "Interesting? Do you want to learn? - having finished, the Magician asked the Jester. The jester nodded silently. The magician gave him the same items as his, and said: "To learn how to use them correctly, you need a teacher ...". But the Jester was already outside the threshold, muttering something like: “There is someone, and there are at least a dime a dozen teachers around” - however, passing by the temple, just in case, I decided to look at the High Priestess, you see, something yes teach.

Chapter 2

The priestess was alone, she sat with her eyes closed, and it was not clear whether she was listening to herself, or to the sound of the waterfall behind her. After standing silently for some time, timid from the halo of mystery that surrounded the High Priestess, the Jester was just about to cough to indicate his presence, when the High Priestess opened her eyes and spoke. “I know what you want to ask me,” she said. But what you want to know, you already know. Listen to yourself. He who has ears, let him hear. He who has eyes, let him see." And the High Priestess, lowering her eyelashes, fell silent again. “And he speaks in some riddles,” thought the Jester. But he did not dare to ask again. Thinking about the words of the Great Priestess, he left the Temple, deciding to visit his mother, the Empress.

Chapter 3

The Empress sat in her garden, under a tall old oak, among fruit-bearing and flowering shrubs, and admired a golden apple from her garden. She was, as always, gorgeous. And, it seems, she was going to become a mother again. The energy of love, kindness and generosity emanated from her. To his question: “How to use magic items correctly?” The Empress replied: “With love. When you do this with love, then even a stick planted in the ground in spring will sprout and bloom in summer if you take care of it and water it. In autumn, you will cut the flowers that will grow on it and put them in a vase or give them to your beloved. Or maybe it will not be flowers, but fruits. Then you will collect them and take them to the pantry, and in winter you can use them for food, or sell them for money. But without love for what you do, do not expect a harvest. The jester thanked the Empress for the science, but the Empress's answer did not entirely satisfy him, and he decided to look to his father, the Emperor, for an answer, and at the same time get his father's approval for the upcoming trip.

Chapter 4

The emperor sat by the fire and, analyzing past deeds, thought about the present. Energetic by nature, he was, as always, internally collected and ready for action. But now he was in no hurry and, it seems, he was thinking about another law, and maybe he was solving other issues of a national scale. Household worries were the least of his worries. Pointing his wand somewhere in front of him, he sharply answered the Jester's question: “You should join the army! There you would understand what the sword is for, and where the money goes! And the cup would be useful there for you to raise it for the victory! The jester realized that the Emperor was dissatisfied with something. It seems that the idea of the Jester to go on a trip did not suit the Emperor. “And if you want to get my approval, do important things! - the Emperor waved his baton in anger, - Deeds! Don't go for the rainbow!" “What heartlessness! Of course, he is an authoritative person, but as a father he could be softer, ”the Jester thought offendedly, retreating slowly. He wanted to regain his lost peace of mind, and for this purpose he again turned into the temple.

Chapter 5

However, the High Priestess was no longer there. But the Great Priest sat majestically on his throne. A powerful stream of calmness, spirituality and faith emanated from him. He lived according to other, Higher Divine Laws, and was above worldly fuss. He didn't need a sword to subdue people. He instilled faith in people with love for his neighbor. At least that's what the Jester thought. In response to the Jester's question on how to use magic items, the High Priest spoke the Ten Commandments. It seemed interesting to the jester, but he did not understand how to use magic items. In addition, he had a new question: “If the High Priest can do without a sword, then you can sometimes do without other magic items? I wonder which of these four items is more important? With this thought, the Jester left the walls of the Temple.

Chapter 6

Once at the crossroads, the Fool stopped in thought. Which of the four roads to take? And then he saw the Empress who came to see him off. No, he was wrong though. beautiful girl was not the Empress at all, as it seemed to the Fool at first. "I think I've fallen in love," thought the Jester. But then on the other path he saw another, no less beautiful person. It seems that she, too, became interested in the Jester. But, oh, pity - she was not alone! “What if I win her? Shut fired up. - After all, for some reason, the Magician gave me a sword. Or maybe her love can be bought? No, I'd rather invite her on a secret date, treat her with wine and drag her to bed. We will divide the bed into three,” thought the Jester, in turn feeling the sword, pentacle, goblet and wand lying in the knapsack. - "And what? There is something in this. A triple bed is even interesting. But what about that first girl? Whom to choose anyway? Yes ... Managed to get me to this intersection. O! How did I not think of this right away? Everyone comes here from time to time! This is the crossroads of Choice! Choice of roads, Choice of decisions, Choice of loved ones! .. - the Jester understood. - And without it it is impossible. And no matter what decision I make, no matter what choice I make, it will be the right one. Because it will be my choice." And the Jester stepped onto one of the roads.

Chapter 7

It was evening. There was a premonition of a thunderstorm in the air. The jester walked along a dusty, winding, bumpy road. And then he saw a wagon rushing towards him, with two rams harnessed to it. “Interesting,” thought the Jester, “I have never seen sheep harnessed to a wagon. Two leaders in one harness? Yes, they will be carried in different directions, and you can’t hold them with any reins. By the way, where are the reins? And then the Fool realized that the driver, sitting in the wagon, controls the sheep with the power of his thought. He belligerently brandished a double-bladed axe, one on each side. This led the Jester to think that one of them was clearly intended to fight the enemy and defend himself if necessary. But the second in the long term can be dangerous for the owner himself, since, apparently, the driver, like everyone else, sometimes walks on the blade, although the owner of the ax himself did not seem to think so. The driver was determined - he was waiting for the upcoming battle, and, judging by his mood, victory! Suddenly the Jester was afraid for him, because due to the pride that flashed across his face, the rams rushed in different directions, and the wagon almost turned over. But the driver regained his composure in time. The cart, without stopping, rushed past, and the Jester, who did not have time to ask the driver about anything, went on, having made some conclusions for himself.

Chapter 8

The storm has passed. The sun was about to set. And the Jester was in a hurry to find at least some kind of shelter, so as not to stay overnight in the open. Suddenly he heard a beastly growl behind him. Frightened, jumping aside, the Jester stared with curiosity at the fragile girl sitting on a lion. From the young person emanated some kind of, previously unknown to the Jester, a great inner Power of love, wisdom, confidence, calmness. And, just roaring, the lion suddenly licked her hand and purred like an obedient kitten. The surprised Jester made a new discovery for himself: “It turns out that victory over one’s own and another’s beast can be won in another way. And it is not at all necessary to resort to the help of a stick. This must be learned, because it is simply impossible to buy such a skill. This discovery pleased him, and inspired, he hurried on.

Chapter 9

Night caught the Jester high in the mountains. Nearby there was no housing in sight where one could stay for the night. The jester was uneasy, but he continued to walk along the dark road. Suddenly, a light flashed ahead. Coming closer, he saw the Hermit holding a staff in one hand and a lighted lantern in the other. The jester told him about the purpose of his journey, about the questions that tormented him, about the answers to these questions different people and what conclusions he himself drew. The hermit replied: “People did not lie to you. They spoke the truth. But everyone has their own. The truth is somewhere in the middle, and it is one. And when there is a need for it, listen to what people say, but seek the answer in solitude. For, only having secluded yourself from worldly fuss, you will come out to the light of truth from the darkness that has surrounded you. Now taste what God has sent and go to bed. Dreams often provide answers to our questions.

Chapter 10

The jester had a strange dream: three girls were amused by riding on a huge Wheel. The wheel was spinning so fast that the flickering faces of the girls became one thing, a common one. “Jump here!” one of them shouted. And the Jester, without even having time to think about anything, jumped. Different parts of the world flashed before his eyes… spring, summer, autumn, winter… Some events were rapidly changing… But the Jester was worried about one thing - how to stay at the top and not fly down! The wind whistled in my ears. "Like?!" one of the girls called out to him. And all three of them laughed merrily. "What is it?" - clutching the wheel with all his might, the Jester shouted in response. "This is? This is the Wheel of your Destiny!” one of the girls answered him. And then the Fool realized that he was in the abode of the Gods. And these girls are none other than the Goddesses of fate: Urd (past), Verdandi (present) and Skuld (future). In surprise, the Jester unclenched his hands and flew down. Hitting the ground painfully, he thought: “Where is justice?”

Chapter 11

And then he noticed another girl standing in front of him. “Looks like Themis. Only there is no bandage on the eyes, ”the Jester noted to himself. In one hand, raised up, the girl held a scale, the bowls of which constantly vibrated. The other hand was lowered down and held the sword. "Who are you?" - asked Shut. "Justice. Are you looking for me?" she replied. “Well, how can I say…” - Jester mumbled. Complaining about the Goddesses of Fate was scary. “You are not for me, you answer yourself. I already know what you're thinking. Be honest with yourself, because you will have to answer for everything. Did you want to know the truth? Now you understand that you need to accept the world as it is and be ready to maintain balance in any situation? Or maybe you want to sue? I'm ready to take your case. But keep in mind that justice will be on your side only if you pursued good goals, your thoughts were pure, and your actions were honest. Only then will the cup of good deeds outweigh the other cup. Otherwise, a punishing sword will rise above your head, ”Justice said sternly. "I got it. The fact that I flew down, no one is to blame but me. Everything is fair. I went?" And the Fool, smiling fearfully, stepped back, looking at the lowered sword and the oscillating scales. Who knows what will outweigh there?

Chapter 12

So, continuing to back away, he suddenly bumped into someone. Startled with surprise, the Jester looked around sharply and saw someone's knees in front of his face. Looking up, he discovered that the knees belonged to a man tied by one foot to the top of a tree, hanging upside down. The hanged man smiled. And it seems that this situation did not bother him at all. “Be careful, young man,” said the Hanged Man, “you prevented me from rethinking life and learning spiritual values.” “Excuse me,” replied the Jester, “why are you doing it upside down?” “Because there comes a time, young man, when it is necessary to look at life from a different point of view. And maybe even sacrifice yourself, material goods, freedom, time. Is there anything else? Just do not forget that it is still necessary to return to the usual position. However, such sacrifice is sometimes unnecessary and turns out to be false. Although, it is quite possible that this is not the case. Perhaps, in this way, we are simply working off our karmic debt. And yet, once in this position, you can find answers to many questions. “And I, too, can find the answers to my questions?” - Shut asked incredulously. "Certainly. Hey somebody! Help hang the young man upside down, ”the Hanged Man shouted. "No thanks, I'll do it some other time!" - exclaimed the Jester, jumping to the side, and immediately flew down somewhere. He woke up from fear. “That's really, truly, with the Gods do not joke. What if I couldn't hang upside down and died right in my sleep? Shut thought. From such a prospect, a disgusting pain arose in the pit of the stomach, perspiration appeared on the forehead, and the blood rushed to the head. The jester became afraid, he closed his eyes.

Chapter 13

For some reason, his eyelids shone with red light. Maybe a ray of the rising sun, peering into the cave, fell on your eyes? But the Jester had already had another dream. He dreamed of a crimson sunset that dyed the entire sky bloody. And against this eerie background, cawing crows were circling. “Brrrr! - Jester shivered and, hearing the approaching clatter of horse hooves, looked away from the setting sun. What he saw shocked him even more. This time he stood in the middle of a field littered with dead bodies. And a white horse was approaching him, carrying a black rider holding a sharply sharpened scythe thrown over his shoulder. The rider had no eyes. In their place was a frightening void. But the Jester did not leave the strange feeling that the rider was looking around the field, deciding where to start harvesting his "terrible harvest." “This is Death,” the Jester guessed, “it seems she is looking at me, do I really have to die? So what? Will I die without getting an answer to my questions? Death extended its bony hand to the Fool's head and pressed its sharp finger on the temple. The jester screamed in fear and pain, and suddenly feeling that pleasantly cool water was pouring on his face in a thin stream, he woke up. It was morning. A branch from a driftwood lying nearby rested against the temple. The hermit was no longer around.

Chapter 14

But the Fool managed to notice a girl slipping out of the cave, holding a goblet in both hands, one of which was silver and the other gold. Rising from the makeshift bed, the Jester hurried after the girl, fearing that she would disappear. But the girl did not think to run away anywhere. She stood with one foot in the stream, babbling not far from the cave, putting the other on the bank, and poured water from a silver goblet into a golden one in a thin stream. “You were screaming in your sleep,” she told the Jester, “and I decided to wake you up, especially since it was time to get up.” “I had a terrible dream,” replied the Jester and told his dream to a stranger. “Your dream does not mean at all that you have to die, just another stage of your life has come to an end. And change, whatever it may be, is always painful. Whether you like it or not, that's life. You can't step into the same water twice. Everything flows, everything changes. Time flows measuredly and imperceptibly, but it flows away. Therefore, do not waste time in vain, and do not rush it, because everything has its time. Do not forget also that sometimes delay is like Death. “You are Time,” the Jester guessed. “I am Moderation,” the stranger answered and went downstream, walking with one foot on the water, the other on the ground. “In that case,” thought the Fool, looking after her, “somewhere nearby there must be immoderation. I wonder what she looks like?

Chapter 15

“Not she, he. And my name is the Devil,” the Jester heard the answer to his mentally asked question. And then the disgusting smell of burning sulfur, wine, tobacco, and some other unfamiliar smells reached the Jester. On the other side of the cave where the Fool had just spent the night, a young man and a girl were sitting in the shade. Rope nooses were thrown around their necks. The free ends of the ropes were caught in one of the Devil's paws. In the second paw, the Devil held a raised burning torch, illuminating the faces of people. The jester could not understand how he could understand the expression on people's faces, but it was obvious that it was replaced either by a thirst for power, then a thirst for sex, then a thirst for money, then a thirst for entertainment and pleasure, then a thirst for alcohol, tobacco, drugs ... And all this was replaced looking very unpleasant grimaces of fear, animal pleasure, unbridled, malicious joy, and others. One thing was incomprehensible to the Fool, why people do not throw off the nooses thrown around their necks by the Devil and leave. After all, the loops are not even tightened. “Because,” the Jester heard the Devil’s answer to his mental question again, “because at first this captivity is sweet, and people are weak, and immoderation is one of their weakest points. It's through immoderation that people keep pushing their heads deeper into my nooses. And when they begin to understand what it threatens, then not everyone, blinded by a vicious passion, can pull his head back before the noose is tightened around his neck. The power of temptation is great." "Nonsense" - thought the Jester. “Do you think so? Do you want to try? - answered the silent protest of the Jester the Devil. - What tempts you the most? Do you want you to take the throne of your father-Emperor, and the most beautiful beauties of the world will please you? Do you want the best wines from your mother's pantry to be on your table? Do you want to build a tower of pure gold for yourself? .. ”The Devil’s voice became enveloping, alluring, and the Jester, mentally seeing himself sitting in a high golden tower, chose for himself a noose in the hands of the Devil.

Chapter 16

The devil did not deceive. He created all the conditions necessary for the Jester to build the Tower. And the Jester, without putting things off indefinitely, proceeded to its construction. On this Tower he pinned some of his own, known only to him, hopes. With each brick laid, the Jester built his ambitious plans. He fell into some strange addiction, reminiscent of his obsession with a patient with feverishly shining eyes. Not at all noticing at the same time that he builds the Tower not from gold, but from his ambitions, vanity and pride. And one day, when the Tower was already ready, the Jester, putting on a crown that had come from nowhere, climbed to the very top, and favorably looked around the surroundings. The earth was beautiful - and perhaps because of this, something painfully dear and long forgotten suddenly stirred in the Jester's soul, and it became difficult for him to breathe. Unbuttoning the collar of his shirt, which had suddenly become tight, he found a noose worn around his neck; it had not yet been pulled too tight, but he no longer wanted to take it off. “God bless her,” the Jester thought in vain, but, as it turned out later, on time. At that very moment, the noose around his neck disappeared, the sky darkened, thunder roared, and lightning struck the Tower, splitting it in half. His illusory crown flew off the Jester, and he, along with his closest associates, flew from the Devil's Tower upside down, cleansed of his sins. The impact was palpable. The jester, sitting on the ruins, was in despair. After all, along with the Tower, all his ambitious plans collapsed. However, after thinking a little about the situation, he realized that he almost got into trouble, and that there was no other way to free himself from the Devil's Tower and regain freedom. The jester got to his feet, looked around and, picking up his forgotten knapsack, limped away from the pile of lying debris. He went on, having lost all hope of reaching the rainbow, the only thing that pleased him was that, while stuffing bumps, he gained experience.

Chapter 17

The night has come. She was warm and bright. Huge stars shone in the sky. One of them was especially large and shone brighter than the others. The jester went forward, focusing on this Star. So he walked until he came to the river. And then he saw another beautiful stranger. Naked, with one foot in the water, she sat on the river bank, holding two jugs in her hands, from which water flowed in an endless stream. At the same time, she poured the contents of one jug into the river, and the contents of the second - onto the shore. And it seemed that both the shore and the river came to life from this and began to talk merrily about something among themselves, murmuring water and rustling herbs and leaves, although there was no wind. And because the hopelessness of the Fool began to disappear somewhere, he, like the river and the earth, wanted to talk to someone. He understood that the girl sitting in front of him was unusual, and the water flowing endlessly from her vessels was alive. But he approached her anyway. "Who are you?" - Asked the Jester girl, coming closer. “I am hope. If you came to me, then you need me. Do not be afraid of anything. Finding the fruits of hope - you will collect the fruits of faith. The night is darkest just before dawn. you found your guiding star. It illuminates all your deeds, deeds and thoughts. Go straight to her. You'll be all right". And the Fool, believing her, went on.

Chapter 18

He walked and walked. The star did not get closer at all, but it became light on the earth, almost like daylight. Only this light was somehow deadening. The jester raised his head and saw the full shining moon above his head. Huge and bright so that in its light all the stars faded. There was a vague uneasiness in my heart. And not in vain. While the Jester was looking at the sky, he seemed to have lost his way. Instead of a lively, sonorous river, he found himself near a musty, smelly swamp. From which cancer tried unsuccessfully to get out. Anxiety intensified, a feeling of danger, illusoryness, vainness and meaninglessness appeared, the Jester felt like an unfortunate, small, deceived little man, standing on the edge of a huge abyss, full of doubts and fears. He sincerely suffered from this, although there was no abyss ahead, but there was still a road, or rather, a path, but it was somehow not calling. And then the Fool heard a voice: "You can stay here and continue to live in a world of anxiety, deceit and illusions, or you can go further and learn the truth." The jester raised his lowered head and saw another girl. He no longer even asked who she was, maybe even Fate herself came to support him and get him out of here. He simply went forward, along the path that began immediately after the two arches, to where the guide pointed him. Moreover, the first, timid rays of the rising Sun appeared on the horizon.

Chapter 19

Seeing the first rays of the sun, the Jester hurried, the path, which at first seemed so inhospitable, quickly led him to a merrily murmuring river. Maybe even to the very one on the shore of which yesterday he met hope. The jester thought of her with gratitude, because if not for her, who knows, perhaps he would be sitting now near the musty swamp. And in the sky the huge sun was already shining with might and main. Near the water, children were playing carelessly - a boy and a girl, Yang and Yin. Nearby, like small suns, 4 sunflowers grew, for some reason suggesting to the Jester about the four magic items given to him on the road by the Magician. The jester was happy. In the light of recent events, the warm and friendly Sun in a cloudless sky gave him joy. On the other side, the Jester saw a huge arch, very reminiscent of the one he saw behind the Magus. But that arch, as it is now, the Fool suddenly thought, separated the Earth and Slim worlds, and this one seems to separate the visible Solar Light from the invisible Spiritual Light. “And they are all interpenetrating,” thought the Jester, realizing one simple truth: the Sun truly shines brightly only for those who are truly bright and pure in soul. When a person is pure in soul, then the invisible Spiritual and visible Sunlight, illuminating all his deeds and deeds, help him fulfill all his desires, win, achieve success, live in happiness and joy. If the thoughts of a Human are not pure and conscience is stained, if he is a sinner, then the Darkness does not allow the Spiritual Light to break through to a person, therefore the Sunlight will never seem to him as joyful as to other people. And this is natural, everything in the world is interconnected. “So, by suffering, I atoned for the sin of the devilish temptation and deserved the happiness of bathing in the rays of Spiritual and Sunlight?” Shut thought.

Chapter 20

Then he heard a trumpet voice coming from the sky. And the first thing the Jester saw, raising his head up, was a rainbow. He realized that he had finally reached her. The rainbow filled half the sky and was even brighter than when he saw it for the first time. The heavenly canopy was thrown back, and the rainbow went somewhere behind it, far up. There, above, emerging from the rainbow radiance, an Angel trumpeted over the earth. And in spite of the sword that the angel held in right hand The jester breathed a sigh of relief - he realized that the Lord forgave him and gave him a chance to correct his sin. Suddenly, the earth opened up, and people began to rise from its depths. Some of them, like the Jester, raised their hands to the sky with gratitude. Others were afraid even to look up, so, apparently, the sins that they once committed were great. “That's why the Angel needs a sword,” thought the Jester, “for others, it's time not only to rethink the past and learn from it, but also the time to hold account for their past thoughts and actions. And the Jester realized that the rainbow is not just a road connecting earth and sky, it is a message from the Lord to people as a sign of new life.

Chapter 21

It was evening again. And the Fool, even reaching the rainbow, did not receive an answer to his question: “Which of the four magical objects given to him on the road by the Magician is more important?” Tired after a long journey, he sat down to rest, and did not notice how an image of a naked woman dancing in the astral plane suddenly appeared in his mind. The woman was confidently spinning on one leg, and there was a feeling that under the toe of her foot there was precisely that very fulcrum that could turn the world upside down. Having wrapped around the woman along the entire height of her growth with the sign of infinity, at the same time, a huge snake moved, holding its tail in its mouth, symbolizing wisdom, destructive and creative energies, immortality and rebirth. The woman's arms were open to the sides, and, curving over her head in a rainbow-like arc, powerful Divine energy flowed from her palms. She received this energy from the Angel standing next to the goblet in her hands, and from the Eagle holding a sword in its paws, and from the Lion offering her his staff and from the Bull ringing a golden pentacle hanging around his neck. Everything around was permeated with amazing harmony. And the Fool finally got an answer to his question about which of the magical items is more important. "Each of them," thought the Jester, "is indispensable in one situation or another, but when their energy is brought together in equal proportions, this means universal harmony." The jangled bells on the Jester's hat brought him out of his unusual contemplation. The jester, satisfied with the answer that had just come to him in such an unusual form, having once again comprehended what he had just dreamed of, finally realized that now everything in his life had finally acquired its final form. Now he clearly knew what he had to do, and was confident in his abilities, understanding somewhere at the subconscious level that he had moved to the next cosmic level. Everything ended and started again.

Raising his head to the sky, the Fool again saw a rainbow. But now he was no longer that naive child. Now he was wiser and smarter at the same time. Now he knew how to use magic items, and he knew that under a simple-minded disguise, various masks could be hidden. And the Jester suddenly sang a song from his favorite cartoon:

Tirlim-pom-pom, tirlim-pom-pom,
I swear on my stupid forehead
That the jester is like a king,
Tirlim-pom-pom, tirlim-la-la!

Did he remember that sometimes, in the light of a radiant rainbow, a trumpeting Angel appears with a sword in his hand? Time will tell.
