  3. jaundice;
  4. diabetes mellitus;
  5. malnutrition;
  6. Weakened immunity;
  7. , trace elements zinc, calcium or iron;

Consider in practice how to whiten nails at home

A change in the color shades of the nail plates on the hands or feet due to fungal infections, as well as diseases emanating from within the human body, should be the subject of adequate treatment by dermatologists and highly specialized specialists.

Therefore, the solution of these issues, of course, should be in combination with the use of special drug therapy and properly organized nutrition, which will saturate the body with the necessary vitamin and mineral complex.

Smoking, from which not only the nails turn yellow, but also the tips of the fingers, is bad habit. It does not bring a person anything good, except for health problems.

Therefore, you should simply refuse it, take up a healthy lifestyle and reconsider your diet in the direction of cottage cheese, fish and other products from this series, which contribute to the nails to acquire a healthy look.

At the same time, the problems of dull and yellowish nails after taking certain medications, using low-quality varnishes, smoking, or working in the garden can be quickly solved on your own, but do not think that this can be done at once.

This requires patience and perseverance. Therefore, let's take a look at several ways to whiten your nails at home with you.

Toothpaste

It turns out that in order to return the old healthy look to the fingernails or toenails, you can use traditional whitening toothpaste, or as an alternative to it:

  • Traditional tooth powder;
  • Tablets for dentures;
  • Means for bleaching linen.

There are two ways to use these tools that we use every day.

  • a teaspoon of tooth powder;
  • 5 cm of whitening toothpaste;
  • One tablet for dentures;
  • Tablespoon of bleach for washing.

After the working solution is ready, you will need to place your fingertips there for ten minutes. For achievement quick results two such procedures per month will be enough.

Lemon juice

A wonderful effective and quick way to whiten your nails yourself is to use freshly squeezed lemon juice. It can be:

  1. Simply rub into each fingernail or toenail for 30 seconds and then rinse with warm water.
  2. Mix with olive oil, and distribute the resulting mixture with a brush, like varnish on the nail plate and remove with a cotton swab after half an hour.
  3. Do ten-minute baths with the juice of one lemon, the addition of sea salt and a glass of boiled cold water.

However, despite the fact that lemon juice quickly whitens and strengthens the nail plate well, it must be handled with care. After all, if a person has wounds or cracks at the fingertips or near the nail plate, this method of whitening nails is not acceptable.

Hydrogen peroxide

This well-known drug is familiar to every girl, as it is the main component in the composition of hair dyes or some cleaning products. To whiten nails you need to take 3% hydrogen peroxide with soda in a ratio of one to two and stir.

The resulting slurry should cover the nails on the hands or feet for about twenty minutes. Then, after this time, wash off everything with warm water, and grease with a hygienic nourishing cream. The procedure should be performed twice a week to achieve an effective result.

You can see this recipe in more detail in the next video.

What else?

In addition to the above methods of whitening nails on the hands or feet at home, they help well:

  • Baths of chamomile or rosemary decoctions;
  • Salt baths with essential oils of bergamot, tea tree, eucalyptus or simple baking soda;
  • Fresh berries that contain vitamin complexes, pectins and organic acids with a bleaching function, such as cranberries, black or red currants;
  • Use of special whitening serums;
  • Masks with lemon juice and natural jojoba or ylang-ylang oils.
  • Special pencil for whitening nail tips.

Finishing my story, I want to advise something. If you are working in the garden or in the garden, do not forget to wear gloves. Otherwise, direct hand contact with tomato bushes can stain them with an unpleasant yellow color. But from beet juices or fresh red berries, hands can acquire a persistent, hard-to-remove pink color.

To eliminate all doubts about various pathologies internal organs, which can cause a discoloration of the nail plates, try to consult an endocrinologist, do a general blood test and fluorography.

Enrich your diet with natural dairy products, cabbage, calcium-rich cheeses, liver, green vegetables and egg yolks. Following these recommendations, I am sure that your nails will always shine with health.

Good luck to all! See you!

How to whiten nails at home? A similar question must have been asked by many representatives of the weaker sex. It turns out that solving the problem is quite simple, since the usual means available in every home will help to cope with the yellowness of the nails. However, before starting the whitening procedure, it is necessary to understand what caused the change in the color of the nail plate.

As a rule, the darkening of the nail indicates any negative changes in the body. The most common culprits for this are:

  • chronic or fungal diseases;
  • lack of vitamins and minerals in the body;
  • smoking;
  • frequent use of red or any other dark varnish without a base coat.

Folk remedies for whitening nail plates

You can whiten your nails with ordinary hydrogen peroxide.

However, using this method, you should be careful: the concentration of the agent should not exceed 3%.

Otherwise, you can damage the nail. Cleaning nails with hydrogen peroxide can be done in two ways. Peroxide is mixed with baking soda (1: 2) until smooth. The resulting slurry is applied to the nail plates for 3 minutes, and then washed off. Such whitening of nails at home should be carried out no more than once every 10 days. The effect will be noticeable after the first two sessions, however, it will be possible to return the original color to the nail only after 4-5 procedures.

For the next method, hydrogen peroxide is mixed with glycerin (1:2). Thus, a nail whitening lotion can be obtained. The liquid is applied to the problem area for several minutes with a cotton pad, and then washed off with warm water. Such whitening can be done every 3 days. In addition to changing color, nails, thanks to glycerin, will receive additional nutrition.

A good result can be obtained by cleaning the nail plate with citric acid. However, before using it, be sure to test for the absence of allergies. To strengthen and brighten the nail plate, it is enough to take baths with lemon juice several times a week or wipe the problem area with a weak solution of citric acid.

Every woman wants her nails to look beautiful and well-groomed, both with and without varnish. But sometimes there are situations when, after removing the varnish, it becomes obvious that the nail plate has turned yellow or even acquired a grayish tint. This signals that it is better to refuse to use varnish for a while, and another problem comes to the fore: how to whiten nails at home?

Lacquer is not the only reason why the nail plates turn yellow. They are negatively affected by smoking, alcohol, unhealthy diet, deficiency of minerals, vitamins, work in the garden. Sometimes the color of the plates acquires an unpleasant hue due to diseases of the liver, lungs, and kidneys. Affects the condition of the nail plates diabetes, nail fungus.

Although there are many methods on how to make nails white, in order to permanently rid them of yellowness, it is necessary to determine the cause that provoked the discoloration, and, if possible, eliminate it. For example, if the problem is in the lacquer coating, you need to buy high-quality products and do not forget to apply a base coat before the lacquer layer. From time to time, nails need to be given a break.

If yellowness is provoked by smoking, it is necessary to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked per day, ideally to quit a bad habit. With a lack of vitamins, a vitamin-mineral complex will help. If the condition of the nails has been affected by liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, you need to carefully monitor your health: these are very serious ailments that can lead to death.

Whatever provokes the yellow color of the nail plates, they look ugly, so they need to be put in order, that is, whitened. To do this, it is not at all necessary to buy expensive cosmetic preparations: whitening nails at home can be done with tools, many of which are always at hand at home.

Using lemon

It is not difficult to whiten nails with the help of lemon: already after the first procedure, under the influence of lemon juice, the yellowed plates noticeably turn white. True, it is rare to completely remove yellowness at a time, so the session should be carried out every three days.

Since the acid of lemon juice has the ability to greatly dry the skin and nails, immediately after the procedure, a moisturizing nourishing cream should be applied to the hands. It should also be borne in mind that in the presence of cuts and wounds near the nails, it is better to refuse the use of lemon juice.

Before you whiten your nails with a lemon, you need to make juice from it, if you wish, you can pour in a little sunflower or other vegetable oil: in addition to the fact that such a mixture will whiten the nails, it will also strengthen the nail plates. After that, soak a cotton swab in the liquid and wipe the nails. You can repeat the procedure several times a day until the nail plates acquire a natural color.

To make the lemon juice work faster, you can pour it into a bowl in an amount sufficient to completely cover the nail plates. Hold for about two minutes, then wash your hands and apply moisturizer.

A good effect can be achieved if you mix baking soda (1: 1) with lemon juice, which has whitening and abrasive characteristics. Apply the resulting slurry to yellowed nails, and gently rub the product for about five minutes with a nail brush or toothbrush. Wash your hands well afterwards.

You can prepare a less acidic remedy: add lemon juice to a glass of boiled cold water and dip your nails into the liquid for ten minutes. If there is no way to make juice, you can proceed even easier: dip your fingertips into the lemon pulp and hold them there for two to three minutes.

Baths for nail plates

You can whiten your nails with salt baths. The product is less acidic, so the skin does not dry out much. But since the procedure involves the need to keep your fingers in water for a long time, wash your hands after the session and apply a regenerating cream.

To prepare a bath for whitening nails, you need to dilute two teaspoons of sea salt in two hundred grams of warm water, dip your fingertips into the liquid and do not remove it for about fifteen minutes. Salt baths should be done every three days, how quickly you can put your nails in order, largely depends on their condition.

Chamomile works well. To do this, pour a tablespoon of dry grass with a glass of boiling water and leave for thirty to forty minutes. When the broth is infused, dip your fingers into the infusion and hold for about fifteen minutes. Herbal baths should be done every two days for about a month.

Other means

Hydrogen peroxide has long been used by people as a bleach, and it does a good job of whitening nails. To do this, mix peroxide with baking soda in proportions of one to two, and then apply the gruel on the nail plates. After three minutes, wash off the mass, gently rubbing it into the nails. Instead of soda, you can use glycerin: mix it with peroxide in proportions of one to five, apply on yellowed nails, rinse with warm water after four minutes.

A whitening toothpaste works well. To do this, you need to apply the product on a specially dedicated toothbrush twice a day and clean your nails for about a minute. In two or three weeks, progress will be evident.

If there is no desire or time to whiten nails with home remedies, you can purchase varnishes, gels, pencils designed specifically for whitening nail plates. To quickly achieve results, it is enough to apply them on the nails several times a day according to the instructions.

If it so happened that it is not possible to whiten the nails, as the nail plate grows, it remains yellow, this indicates health problems. If it is a fungus, you need to purchase antifungal ointments, varnishes and apply them according to the instructions.

If the reason is not clear, you need to consult a doctor so that he can prescribe examinations: this will make it possible to find out if pathological processes develop in the body in the form of diabetes mellitus, problems with digestive system and other diseases.

Content

Any girl wants to have beautiful healthy nails, but the constant use of varnishes and careless care of them lead to the fact that the surface turns yellow and loses its natural pleasant shade. To eliminate it and return the plates to natural appearance, you must, first of all, eliminate the cause of the color change, but methods that are aimed at relieving the consequences will also come in handy. The following describes how to whiten nails at home with improvised and store-bought products.

Why nails change color

The external state of the nail plate reflects the internal health and habits of a person. The surface may turn yellow for the following reasons:

  • Bad habits, including smoking. Tobacco not only negatively affects the state of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, but also worsens the appearance of the skin, hair and nail plates. Quit smoking and see general improvement conditions, not only the elimination of a yellowish or brownish tint.
  • Constant use of varnish (normal, the gel does not cause such an effect), artificial nail prostheses. The coating, especially in several layers, blocks access to oxygen. Poor-quality varnishes with acetone in the composition also have a negative impact. Bright colors especially spoil the nail surface. Use proven products, do not allow them to dry out and do not dilute if this has already happened. Let's rest our nails.
  • Onychomycosis (fungus). Because of this disease, not only the color changes, but also the structure of the nail - it thickens and exfoliates from the bed. In addition, it may appear bad smell, fade the natural luster. Although pharmacies sell ointments and sprays for the fungus without a prescription, it is better not to self-medicate, but to consult a dermatologist. So you get rid of the disease faster and completely.
  • Chemicals, fertilizers. The habit of washing dishes, laundry or gardening without rubber or other gloves affects the shade of the nail surface. Some products also change color, so cooking can also affect the appearance of the plates - for example, beet leaves stains that are difficult to wash with soap (instead of disappearing, they turn purple).
  • Deficiency of vitamins, zinc, iron, calcium. Adjust your diet to include healthy natural food and a complete set of useful substances. In order to avoid shortages, diversity is also important.
  • Taking medications, especially antibiotics. As soon as the course of tablets is over, the nails will return to their natural color by themselves.
  • Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder, kidneys; diabetes. If none of the above reasons are observed for you, then the problem is in a state of health. Contact a gastroenterologist and an endocrinologist for an examination, as malfunctions in the digestive and immune system directly affect the condition of the nail plates.

What is nail whitening

Under clarification, or whitening, nails understand the elimination of unnatural surface shades: yellowish, grayish, brownish. Since discoloration can have many causes, restoring it with home remedies like masks is not always effective. In the case of diseases, it is necessary to treat the ailment that caused the consequence in the form of an unpleasant shade.

How to make nails white at home

To whiten nails at home, use natural herbal or pharmaceutical products that are always at hand. Of the products successfully used milk, lemon, salt, soda, natural juices, vinegar. Of the pharmacy products, hydrogen peroxide and toothpaste are effective. Substances showing the best result are vinegar, lemon. They act aggressively, therefore they are recommended to bleach not in pure form and also observe the dosage. In addition, if there are wounds, cracks or burrs on the fingers, a burning sensation will be felt upon contact with them.

Mask with toothpaste

This remedy is considered extreme because abrasive toothpastes can even damage enamel (the hardest tissue in human body). You need to bleach them carefully, repeat more than three times a week, it is not recommended. Instructions for the procedure:

  1. apply a thin layer on the nail surface;
  2. lightly massage the plate with a brush;
  3. hold for up to 5 minutes (if the paste is not whitening, up to 7 is allowed);
  4. rinse with plain warm water.

An alternative is not to whiten with pure toothpaste, but to prepare a special brightening mask. The recipe is this:

  • lemon - 1 pc;
  • baking soda - 1 tbsp. the spoon;
  • toothpaste - 2 teaspoons.

Squeeze the juice from the lemon, mix it with soda (it will start to foam, this is normal, wait until the mixture calms down). Add toothpaste, then you can apply on your nails. You can keep it for 15 to 20 minutes. Overdosing is not recommended - the mask will dry out the surface. For this reason, after washing off the mixture with warm water, you should apply a nourishing moisturizer to your hands.

Lemon acid

This substance does not bleach in its pure form. Baths and masks are prepared on its basis. To whiten toenails and fingernails with citric acid, you can use one of the following methods:

  1. Bath that returns the natural color and shine of the nail plate. For 250 ml of warm purified water, 1 teaspoon of citric acid is taken. Soak your fingers in the prepared bath for 15 minutes. Then wash off the acid and moisturize your hands with cream.
  2. Bath and mask. Prepared separately, used in turn. For a mask, mix 1 teaspoon of citric acid with a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide. Apply for 5 minutes. Then they wipe their fingers from the mask and lower them into the bath. Solution recipe: dilute a teaspoon of acid in a glass of water. Hold 15 minutes. After the procedure, the nail surface is polished with a buff.

Lemon juice

In this way, you can not only whiten, but also strengthen the nails. Lemon nourishes them with vitamins, makes them stronger, restores shine. There are several ways to whiten with this citrus:

  1. Rub pure lemon juice. It is not recommended to bleach too often so as not to overdry.
  2. Masks are prepared from lemon juice with almond, olive or essential oils. It whitens and nourishes nails without drying them out.
  3. Nutritional whitening mixture. Mix two tablespoons of olive oil with the same amount of liquid honey, then add the juice of one lemon, drip essential oils any two citrus fruits. Immerse your fingers in the gruel for 20 minutes. Wash off with soap, then apply a moisturizer.

Milk

This product was bleached back in Ancient Egypt. Nobles took milk baths to make their skin color noble. Now the product is added to masks for the face, hands and nails. Milk in these cases is replaceable with kefir, natural yogurt or sour cream. In order to whiten the nail plates, fat cream is best suited. They are heated to room temperature, then applied to the hands, or fingers are dipped into a container with the product. A pleasant procedure restores the natural color of the nail surface and is beneficial for the skin.

natural juices

This is an alternative to lemon, so juices should be from fruits or berries that are high in acid, which has bleaching properties. These include blackcurrant, redcurrant, lime, cranberry and strawberry. By mixing the juice of any of these products with warm water (1:1), you get a bath that has a pronounced brightening effect, rich in vitamins. To improve the nutritional properties, you can drop a little essential oil.

An alternative way to whiten nail plates with juice is to mix it with baking soda. If you are using strawberries, use 5-6 berries per tablespoon of powder. Get a mask that should be applied to the nail surface for 15 minutes. This is a fast bleaching method. After drying, you can wash off the residue and repeat the procedure. This manipulation can be carried out repeatedly until the result of clarification suits you.

Sea salt

To strengthen and whiten nails useful tool, it is not necessary to go to the sea (although it is possible to combine business with pleasure). Alternative option: buy it in the store and make a bath. The simplest recipe with sea salt:

  • 2 teaspoons of salt are taken per glass of warm purified water;
  • essential oils are added as desired;
  • damaged nails are lowered into the saline solution for 20 minutes;
  • the procedure is repeated twice a week, it not only whitens, but also promotes nail growth.

A double lightening effect is observed if sea salt is mixed with another agent of a similar effect. The following recipe whitens better, but can dry out hands:

  • a glass of warm water;
  • a teaspoon of sea salt;
  • two teaspoons of lemon juice;
  • hold the nails in the solution for about 7-10 minutes;
  • after the procedure, lubricate the hands with a nourishing cream.

Vinegar

The aggressive effect of ordinary vinegar helps to whiten the nail plates, but can harm them. A softer apple version is better, but if there are wounds on the hands, it should also be discarded. Vinegar with water is diluted in the proportions of a teaspoon per glass. Only the fingertips are dipped into the composition, for a maximum of 5 minutes. If you feel any discomfort or tingling, remove immediately. Wash vinegar off hands with soap and water only.

Procedures are often not recommended. Alternatively, you can soak cotton pads in vinegar and wipe the nail surface with them. If whitening is ineffective, it is better to consult a doctor to determine the cause, since this is a proven remedy, and if it does not work, then there are problems with internal health and this affects the appearance.

Whitening baths

Components are used not only in pure form, but also diluted with water. With them, effective baths are prepared in order to make the nails light. It is convenient to keep pens in ready-made solutions, using a manicure bowl as a container. Best Recipes baths:

  • Salt. In 250 ml (one glass) of water, dilute 1 teaspoon of sea salt, juice of half a lemon or 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Fingertips are kept in this solution for 25 minutes.
  • With chamomile. One tablespoon of the flowers of the dried plant is poured into 200 ml hot water and leave under a closed lid to infuse. When the broth cools to room temperature, it is filtered and poured into a bowl. Soak your hands in the bath for 15 minutes.
  • With soda. Take one teaspoon of soda and the same amount of lemon juice in a glass of warm water. You can keep your hands in this solution for up to 10 minutes.
  • Soapy. Heat water and pour it into a bowl. Throw a bar of ordinary baby soap there. Wait 5-10 minutes until the nails are steamed. Then scrape the softened bar. After that, clean your nails with a brush.
  • Soda-salt. Take two glasses of water. Add one teaspoon of salt and soda. Drip some lemon juice. Soak your fingers in the solution for 15 minutes.
  • Starch. Dilute the powder in milk or lemon juice so that you get a consistency like sour cream. Soak your nails for 20 minutes. After that, be sure to lubricate your hands with cream.
  • With potatoes. Grate the vegetable and pour into a bowl. Put your hands in there. You can keep up to half an hour. Such a bath is the most harmless, whitens, but does not dry the skin at all.

How to remove yellowness from nails after varnish

If whitening nails with soda and peroxide did not help, you can turn to the products that are on the shelves of cosmetic stores. Keep in mind that they, like home-made lightening methods, will give a lasting result only if you have eliminated the cause of the yellowing of the plates. If you continue to be careless with your nails, use low-quality varnishes, any remedy will be useless.

Whitening varnish

Many products from this list contain those natural ingredients from which baths are prepared at home. Their principle of operation is based on the same as the masks described above. In addition, there are active additional elements that enhance the properties that protect and nourish the nails. Therefore, such varnishes are convenient to use as a basis for coating.

So, the main active component of Beam up from Essie is lemon extract, but unlike citrus, regular use of this product does not dry out the nails, but prevents yellowing. You can paint at least every day, instead of a transparent coating or as a base. The main thing is not to use it instead of the finishing layer - then there will be no effect, since the product does not have such deep penetrating properties.

Oriflame Nail Whitener comes in gel form and is therefore not to be used with polish. It is water-based, contains a clarifying component - hydrogen peroxide - and nutrients, aloe vera and D-panthenol. Using Nail Whitener is simple: you need to apply a small amount of gel on clean, dry nails and rub in. This will help not only whiten them, but also restore shine and health.

Mava-white from Mavala is the only one of the presented products that has not only a cosmetic, but also a healing effect. It will not help from onychomycosis, but it has a complex effect. Against yellowness, Mava-white contains titanium oxide, and caring ingredients strengthen the nail. The remedy will help the plates weakened from constant coating. As a preventive measure, you can use Mava-white as a base for varnish, but if you are undergoing treatment, you should give your nails a rest and just manicure regularly.

Alessandro brand has a universal whitening agent. On the shelves, this is a bottle of varnish called Pro White Original. A well-groomed appearance of the nails appears immediately after application of the product, since it not only whitens, but also gives a natural shine. You can also paint it under the coating. In general, Alessandro has a whole line of brightening products for nails, including coatings, masks, etc.

Whitening Pencil

Initially intended for nail design (for example, to make a French manicure), but it is able to remove their unpleasant shade. It works according to this principle: it does not lighten the surface and does not eliminate the pigment, but simply colors the plate from the inside. For this reason, with a pencil it will be possible to whiten only the free edge of the nail (and then under it).

The tool still has an advantage over conventional varnishes. The painted part does not look glossy, but looks natural. French with a pencil is neat, beautiful and natural. To achieve this effect, manufacturers add white clay or medical chalk to the composition. These components are easy to wipe off, so it is recommended to apply a clear varnish on top. In theory, this works. In practice, an expressive jacket cannot be achieved, but in order to whiten the surface, this is a good option.

So, a combination of a pencil and a medical varnish will work best. The first one will help to immediately make the smile line bright and healthy, and the second one will hide, and after regular use it will eliminate the pigment, besides strengthening the nail. Another advantage is the fact that during the treatment you will not have to walk without beautiful design. Another advantage: the pencil can be carried with you, if necessary, correcting the manicure.

An improved version of the product is made on the basis of wax and, unlike its predecessor, has healing properties. Such pencils are applied in a similar way: the reverse side of the nail is stained, but the layer is more dense and resistant. After several applications, the plate is lightened (at the site of application), and also strengthened. The nail becomes less brittle and ceases to exfoliate, but it will also not work to whiten the entire surface with such a tool.

The third type of pencil is useless for lightening purposes. It is called varnishing and works like a corrector or pen. When the pencil is pressed from its tip, a tool gets onto the nail surface, which lies in a line 1-1.5 mm wide. This is an ordinary white varnish, which does not possess medicinal properties, therefore, it can only visually correct the situation, and in fact - even exacerbate the problem of yellowing. It is also inconvenient to use such a pencil for a jacket, because it lies unevenly.

Yellow nails, of course, can be covered with several layers of varnish, so much so that no one will guess about this small cosmetic problem. However, when there is no varnish ...

No, it is absolutely not necessary to go to the salon, you can whiten your nails at home, as with cosmetics and using natural remedies.

Whiten nails at home - recipes

The best and most effective nail whitening products are, of course, natural ones, which, moreover, cost ridiculous money.

soda and peroxide

Mix a tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide and two and a half tablespoons of baking soda in a ceramic bowl until a smooth paste forms. Apply this paste with a cotton swab on the entire surface of the nail plate and under it.

Wait three minutes, rinse with warm water. Even if there is a significant improvement after the first application, the procedure should be repeated once a week for six to eight weeks.

Lemon is an excellent remedy for whitening not only the skin, but also nails. And various natural additives only enhance its properties.

  • The easiest way to use: just apply freshly squeezed lemon juice liberally on the nails for five to seven minutes, rinse with warm water and apply a nourishing cream.
  • Lemon bath: mix a quarter cup of lemon juice with a glass of warm water and one to two tablespoons liquid soap, hold your fingertips in this water for about five minutes, wipe and apply a moisturizer.
  • Lemon and soda: Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice and two to three tablespoons of soda until a smooth paste. Apply the paste over the entire surface of the nails and under their tips, leave it for 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water and soap.
  • Scrub from lemon with salt: take lemon juice and salt in equal proportions, mix, rub over the entire surface of the brushes, paying special attention to the nails, leave for five minutes. Wash off with warm water.

Toothpaste

Whitening toothpaste can whiten not only teeth, but also nails. It must be applied to the nails, and washed off with warm water after five minutes. The procedure can be repeated no more than once a week.

Sea salt

A sea salt bath strengthens and whitens even sore nails. In a glass and a half of warm water, you need to add three tablespoons of sea salt and hold your fingers until the solution has cooled. Then just rinse your hands with warm water.

You need to take 250 ml of warm water and mix it with a tablespoon of alcohol vinegar, then soak your nails in the bath for about eight minutes. Rinse your hands with warm water and apply moisturizer.

Whitening nails - pencil and varnishes

You can quickly and easily (but not for long) eliminate yellowness by simply painting over it, for which a whitening nail pencil is suitable.

Such pencils are intended mainly for creating the famous French manicure and, in principle, only visually hide yellow nails. It is recommended to apply such a pencil on the inner surface of the nail at night.

There are special whitening nail polishes that are very effective, especially those that contain titanium oxide. It is used like a regular varnish, covering the entire surface of the nail plate.

But still: yellow nails - what is the reason?

Yellow nails are unpleasant, ugly and unhealthy. In general, some "not". At the same time, the nail whitening process is absolutely safe for health: sparing components easily whiten without harming the nail plate.

However, the choice of bleaching method should depend on the cause of the yellowness. Among the common causes are heredity, smoking, the effects of medication or illness, such as anemia and beriberi; a severe case is fungal infections, in which the nail acquires an unpleasant brown color and even a smell.

However, the most common problem that leads to yellowing of the nail plate can be either oxygen starvation, when the nail cannot “breathe” under the varnish, or the effects of prolonged exposure to varnish ingredients, both pigments and formaldehyde, which, according to experts, poisons the nails and makes them turn yellow.

Therefore, do not forget to apply the base coat at the very beginning of the manicure.
