Installation of the air conditioner advice of installers. Installation of air conditioners: advice from a professional installer. Test run of the air conditioner

Do you want to buy an air conditioning system at a bargain price? You can always buy air conditioners in Odessa inexpensively in an online store, but for their installation you will either have to contact a specialized installation company, or do everything yourself ...

If you decide to do air conditioner installation independently, it should be understood that this process will require you to carry out serious and responsible work. In order for everything to go as smoothly as possible, you will need to follow a few useful tips:

    Hotel wiring. Even to install a low-power air conditioner, it is necessary to carry out separate electrical wiring and even install a separate machine in the electrical panel. Often the old wiring does not withstand the load and heat up, as a result of which a short circuit can occur, which will cause the failure of many electrical appliances in the room;

    Fastening outdoor unit. The first thing you should remember is that the outdoor unit must be mounted in an easily accessible place (refers to apartment buildings), because otherwise you will have to seek help from climbers for its maintenance, and this incurs additional costs;

    Installation indoor unit. The installation of the indoor unit should be strictly without distortion, because otherwise water (condensate) will flow out of it. If the installation is carried out according to the rules, then the water will be discharged through the drainage into a special tank. Also, do not install the indoor unit of the air conditioner above any heat source, as the air conditioning system will have to constantly work at full capacity, which will lead to a quick failure;

    Piping installation tips:

    • freon. In no case, in a small area, do not bend the tubes with freon several times and unscrew their connections. If you do this, then this will lead to a freon leak, a decrease in power and failure of the air conditioning compressor;

drainage. The drain pipe, through which the accumulated moisture (condensate) must be removed, must be installed at a slight slope (8-10 mm). This will ensure the natural flow of water from the system. When such an inclination cannot be made for some reason, then it is required to install a special pump that allows forcible removal of moisture.

Remember that violation air conditioner installation technology causes the air conditioning system to operate less efficiently, and that's at best. At worst, the air conditioner will quickly fail and you will have to fork out well for its repair.

When there is simply no opportunity to do everything on your own, then the installation of air conditioners in Odessa can be ordered at the A-CLIMATE trade and installation company, where, in addition, you will find big choice inexpensive air conditioning systems for an apartment, home or office.

So, the air conditioner is bought and delivered. Now it needs to be installed and connected. Experts know that installation determines the quality and service life of a new air conditioner by 90 percent. For all its external compactness and simplicity, an air conditioner is a rather complicated device, only a reputable company with expensive professional equipment can competently and reliably mount an air conditioner.

Professional installation air conditioners

When installing an air conditioner, first of all, its real dimensions are determined, which are not limited to the dimensions of the installation itself. Also evaluate the strength of the support on which the equipment is mounted, especially mounted on the outside of the building or on the roof.

After determining the installation site of the air conditioner, the noise level produced during the operation of the installation is calculated. It should not further interfere with those who are in the room. With rare exceptions, the units are mounted on a foundation, which means that there is a problem of vibration. Powerful compressors and fans must be placed on special anti-vibration supports, which protects the building and the refrigeration unit itself from premature destruction.

The quality of the installation of pipelines greatly affects the performance and trouble-free operation of refrigeration units. General rule during their installation - reducing to a minimum the length and number of bends of pipelines between external and internal blocks. Inside the cable route and copper tubes there must be a complete vacuum, for which a complex procedure for pumping out air, called evacuation, is carried out.

If the process is not approached in good faith, then a refrigerant leak is possible. This leads to the combustion of the compressor, the price of which is 60-70 percent of the total cost of the air conditioner. Air conditioners, especially household ones, are outwardly similar, but each of them, with the same basic principles and approaches, has its own installation features. This is known and taken into account by the installers.

Installation of air-cooled air conditioners with axial fans. Compressor-condenser units, chillers (finished refrigerator designed to cool the liquid), rooftop air conditioners are mounted from the outside of the premises. When installing two or more such installations, the guaranteed clearances specified in the manufacturer's instructions must be observed.

The condensers should be cooled with atmospheric air free of corrosive substances. Therefore, they are installed so that hot air does not enter them from the windward side of the pipes of fireplaces or boiler rooms. The presence of trees near the installation site is also undesirable, as the heat exchanger may become clogged with leaves, which will reduce the efficiency of the units. Direct exposure to sunlight also leads to a deterioration in the performance of the capacitor.

When installing on terraces, when it is not completely clear where the rain flows will go, air conditioners are installed on a special foundation, and the water itself is sent to the outlets. For the installation of rooftop air conditioners, in addition to all of the above, a waterproof support panel with a frame is created, the air conditioner itself is strengthened on the frame, pipes for air inlet and outlet are brought from below.

Installation of air-cooled air conditioners and centrifugal fans. Such air conditioners are installed inside the building - in attics, in basements, in utility rooms. Air for cooling the condenser is taken, as a rule, from the street through an air duct system. In such cases, it is necessary to ensure an unhindered supply of air from the street to the room and the removal of warm air, install intake and exhaust ventilation grilles.

They are connected to circulating water supply systems, a special water control valve is installed that changes the water flow depending on the required refrigeration capacity. A water drain is provided in case the system is turned off in winter. The water used to cool the condenser must be free of contaminants, so mechanical filtration is used. Filters protect circulation pumps in the system from various deposits on the surfaces of the heat exchanger, clogging and corrosion of materials.

Split - this means "separate", this is the division of the air conditioner into two parts, sometimes installed at a decent distance from each other. One part with the compressor is fixed outside the room. There it makes less noise and better discharges heat from the rooms to the street. The second block, internal, filters the air from the room through filters, cools or heats it.

The outdoor unit is mounted on a sufficiently strong wall in a place convenient for subsequent maintenance. It is fixed on the finished mounting bracket with special bolts. The indoor unit of split systems must be installed taking into account the functional requirements and design of the room.

It should not be placed near sources of heat and humidity, near the doorway, there should be no obstacles for the air blown out, a reliable condensate drain should be arranged. The installation location of the unit is chosen in such a way that there is no direct supply of cooled air to people. The distance from the indoor unit to the walls, ceiling and floor should not be less than certain values. Fastening is carried out using a mounting plate and brackets, which are fixed to the wall with screws strictly according to the level.

Fankoil is the unit installed in the room and including the heat exchanger the fan, the filter, the control panel. Fancoils, as a rule, are installed in groups, distributing them over floors or rooms. The task of a specialist when setting up hydraulic system- to ensure the required distribution of liquid across all fan coil units with the help of special balancing valves. The minimum time required to install the air conditioner is 4 hours.

If someone undertakes to do it faster, it will only be to the detriment of quality. Usually the warranty for the system is 1-2 years, if you are promised a longer period, then most likely you are dealing with a company that will cease to exist even before the system fails.

Finding good installers is much more difficult than finding manufacturers. Contact firms that have already proven themselves in the market and value their own reputation. Professionals prefer quality parts, well-established service department, direct contacts with manufacturers. good firm has an appropriate license for the installation and maintenance of air conditioners, one-day firms do not have such documents.

Last winter in Moscow, one citizen who loved to wander along the snow-covered streets of the capital was almost killed by someone who fell literally "like snow on her head" outdoor unit conditioner. In the course of a hot pursuit investigation, it turned out that the outdoor unit of an air conditioner installed in one of the offices was simply torn off the wall by a gust of wind. It turned out that the owners wanted to save a little on the installation of the air conditioner and neglected the services of qualified installers. They hired "masters" from the outside. Nothing good came of this venture.

Don't trust crooks. Air conditioning is a delicate thing. He loves when he is shown increased attention and surrounded by care. Especially during installation. The reputation of the company in which the climatic equipment is purchased, and the high qualification of employees performing installation work, - a guarantee of reliable operation of equipment for a long time. By the way, practice shows that more than 80% of all defects found in air conditioning systems in last years, - this is a consequence of unskilled installation of air conditioners.

Interrogation with predilection.

It is better to take care of the installation site of the air conditioner in advance. The necessary advice can be obtained from the design manager. He must inspect the room that is planned to be air-conditioned. It is better to immediately clarify with him all the nuances of installation, to express the existing wishes. It would be useful to ask you to provide you with a complete list of the proposed work in writing, to find out how much time it will take to complete them. Ask how and by whom the warranty service of the installed equipment will be carried out.

Directly during the installation of climate control equipment, do not interfere with the specialists, give them the opportunity to do their job carefully and accurately. Remember that the life of the air conditioner largely depends on its quality. When accepting work, ask the installers to introduce you to the basic techniques of working with the air conditioner.

Shall we go to the authorities?

Very often, customers who want to install an overly powerful air conditioner in an apartment (or several conventional units at once) forget that the home electrical network can simply pull them. The consequences of such a rash step are going through the authorities.

When beauty is not power

Many owners of air conditioners, for obvious reasons, want to remove external units as far as possible from the window. At the same time, they forget that the equipment needs service. And for this, the valves of the external units must be within reach.

On the roof of my house.

When installing outdoor units on the walls of rooms made of "sandwich" type panels (tin, fittings and thermal insulation), as well as on the roofs of buildings with metal roofing(corrugated sheet, metal tile), strong vibration and increased noise of the outdoor unit are possible. Therefore, special measures must be taken. For example, plan a separate foundation with special stands and vibration isolators.

Think ceiling.

When installing cassette and duct air conditioners, it is necessary to strictly regulate the distance from the suspended to the regular ceiling. Often, builders significantly reduce it, thereby complicating or making installation impossible or worsening air exchange (duct), as the geometry of the air ducts is violated. Therefore, first of all, consult with experts. They will help you choose the right model of air conditioner, choose a place for its optimal placement, and lay the cable and pipes in advance.

Everyone knows how much dust there is in our rooms, what a harmful "air cocktail" is obtained in combination with the heat. However, there is an opportunity to qualitatively change it. To do this, you need to buy an air conditioner.

They are so different...

People on a tight budget will be attracted to an affordable window air conditioner. For those who rent housing, a mobile air conditioner is suitable - it does not need to be installed and, if necessary, will move to a new place of residence after the owner. But for cooling and air purification in a large apartment, "mobile phones" and "windows" are not suitable. Better to fork out for a split system. It is compact, efficient, practical, gives great freedom in choosing the type and location of the indoor unit. Owners of multi-room apartments can be advised to install a multi-split system. Its only outdoor unit serves several indoor units at once. Curiosity is not a vice What you should ask the seller when buying an air conditioner in order to get the maximum useful information? First you need to make sure the experience of the company in the market and the high qualifications of its staff. Ask what services you can offer.

Find out if you have the appropriate licenses and certifications. Find out how much time and money it may take to complete the entire range of work, including installation of equipment. If the company inspires confidence and the information received is satisfactory, ask the consultant to help you calculate the required cooling capacity and choose the right air conditioner for you.

Measure seven times...

At the same time, the specialist must inspect and measure your premises and only after that offer one or another model, giving specifications each. Specify in what place it is best to install the climatic equipment, whether there is a possibility of flow and exhaust ventilation, presence and type of heating. Take an interest in the possibilities of air filtration and purification, special operating modes, additional functions.

Get rid of drafts.

The self-oscillation function must be enabled horizontal blinds, turning the draft into a light breeze, or fix the horizontal flaps in a better position. Did not help? Try turning the airflow to the left or right with the vertical air flaps. In most air conditioners, this operation is done manually, but in some models it can be done using the remote control.

SOS! Water is dripping from the indoor unit!

Most likely the drain line is clogged. Most often, this situation occurs when an air conditioner with a drainage pipeline brought outside is turned on for cooling at sub-zero temperatures. In this case, the condensate may freeze, forming an ice plug. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to heat the drainage pipeline to +5 degrees using a special cable. If an ice plug nevertheless arose, then it is worth waiting for a thaw, and until that moment do not turn on the system for cooling.

Reduced airflow - Try cleaning the air filter. This can be done with a vacuum cleaner or by washing it with a soft sponge in warm water. It is not recommended to operate the air conditioner without a filter, as it protects not only your lungs, but also the heat exchanger of the indoor unit. When the latter is contaminated, the efficiency of the air conditioner decreases.

Installing a split system in a two-room apartment or a small office is not a problem. But to create comfort in a large building (for example, in a 3-story mansion), you have to break your head. The main thing is not to lose it completely, when suggestions are pouring in from experts on how to do it more profitably and efficiently.

Installation tips. Where is the best place to install an air conditioner?

Before you buy a split system in Krasnodar, it is advisable to determine the place where you will hang it.

It is technically possible to install an air conditioner in a room absolutely anywhere, however, for its high-quality work, without the risk of failure, there are certain rules and some nuances that must be observed during installation.

In this article, we will try to describe in as much detail as possible the most common mistakes during the installation process, as well as give recommendations on the correct installation of the air conditioner in order to avoid unforeseen problems in the future.

1. Install the indoor unit of the split system at a distance of at least 10 cm from the ceiling. Because the air conditioner takes its cooling/heating air from inside (not outside), the short distance from the ceiling to the top of the ceiling (where the air intake grille is) can make it difficult to recirculate the air. In this case, firstly, the air conditioner will not be able to produce enough cold / heat, and secondly, it will work for wear, which will lead to a quick failure of its compressor. That is why it is forbidden to put various objects on the air conditioner and cover its upper part. If you are installing an air conditioner at the stage of repair, take into account the possible lowering of the ceiling level (stretch ceilings, plaster ceilings, etc.).

2. Do not mount the indoor unit of the split system above cabinets, shelves, chests of drawers if the distance from them to the lower edge of the indoor unit is less than 70-100 cm. Firstly, this causes dust accumulated on the top surface of the cabinet to be blown off every time the air conditioner is turned on. Moreover, the close location of horizontal surfaces leads to the creation of a circulation of the air flow, which leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the air conditioning system. The flow from the air conditioner is drawn back into the air intake, the air exchange in the room deteriorates, the air conditioner, taking in cold air, begins to "think" that it is time to stop its work, because the temperature sensor is located at the flow inlet.

3. The air flow must not be directed directly at people. When working in the cold, the temperature of the air stream from the air conditioner is 7-15 ° C lower than the ambient air temperature in the room. If such a stream blows on a person for at least several tens of minutes, bad feeling subsequently secured. As a rule, air is directed so that it passes between workplaces or where people are least likely to be. In the bedroom, you often have to make a choice on which wall in relation to the bed to hang the air conditioner. Most often, people are afraid to place the indoor unit over their heads and mount the unit on the wall to which their feet are facing. If it is not possible to remove the unit from the bed as much as possible and direct the air in the other direction, it is better to mount it overhead. In this case, cold air will not blow on the head, but on the legs, which are usually covered with a blanket.

4. Do not install the air conditioner indoor unit above a heat source (such as a radiator). Due to the flow of warm air rising from the heat source, the air conditioner will think that it is not cooling the room enough, and will work for wear, as a result of which it will quickly fail. In addition, excessive heat may cause the plastic casing of the indoor unit to be deformed.

5. Do not install the air conditioner in a place where air circulation will be difficult (for example, behind curtains, etc.). The distance to the obstacle should not be less than 3 meters. The cooled (or heated) air flow from the air conditioner will be reflected from the obstacle and will return back with the same temperature with which it "came out". The air conditioner will decide that the work has been done, the desired climate is set and turn off.

6. The indoor unit of the split system must be installed strictly according to the level. This is necessary so that the moisture condensed on the heat exchanger can be freely removed to the outside through the drainage system. If the indoor unit is installed with a significant skew (±3-4 mm is allowed), there is a possibility that water will accumulate in the drain pan and periodically flow out of it directly onto your floor.

7. It is not recommended to install the air conditioner in rooms where devices with high-frequency electromagnetic oscillations are constantly operating.(e.g. drill, drilling machine). High-frequency vibrations can knock down the chip (processor) installed inside the air conditioner.

8. Try to install the indoor unit so that the length of the refrigerant pipe is as short as possible. Firstly, a long route increases the cost of installation, and secondly, it reduces work efficiency. Moreover, if you decide to lay the track in a box, then a long box through the entire wall greatly spoils the interior.

9. If possible, run a separate power cable to the air conditioner. To any, even a low-power air conditioner, it is necessary to carry out a separate electrical wiring and put a separate machine in the electrical panel. Because the old wiring may not withstand the load and it will ignite. Be especially vigilant if your house is older than 1990. In old houses, the wiring is not designed for the loads from the use of powerful electrical equipment.

1. Do not install the outdoor unit on a glazed balcony or loggia because heat dissipation will be very difficult. Installation is only possible if the windows can be opened wide. In this case, it is necessary to pay attention to the operating range of outdoor air temperatures. The upper temperature limit for different air conditioners is not the same and ranges from 40 to 46 C.

2. The outdoor unit should not cause inconvenience to your neighbors(noise, dripping condensate).

3. Try to place the outdoor unit in such a way that the sun's rays fall on it as little as possible. The direct rays of the sun can provoke a protective shutdown of the device due to overheating.

4. Locate the outdoor unit in such a way that during operation, the heat removed from the room can be freely discharged into environment (For example, do not install the outdoor unit where the prevailing wind is directed towards the air conditioner, otherwise the normal operation of the fan will be disturbed).

5. Do not place the outdoor unit in close proximity to the canopy of trees. Leaves and fluff from poplars clog the heat exchanger, moreover, during gusts of wind, branches can get into the equipment, damage the fan or heat exchanger fins. If, nevertheless, your house is all buried in greenery, then you need to cut down some of the branches located next to the air conditioner.

6. It is forbidden to install outdoor units on the ground and in those places where they can be soiled with mud, covered with snow, flooded with rain or sewage. Blocks must be installed on a special stand.

7. It is forbidden to install outdoor units in places where there is a possibility of leakage of explosive gases. In particular, this applies to the air conditioning of the first and second floors, where gas pipes gasified buildings.

8. When placing the outdoor unit on the ground floor, install it in a special protective grid. This will prevent theft and acts of vandalism.

9. Take care of the condensate drain. Most often, condensate is discharged to the street. In this case, the flowing water should not fall on the wall of the building. Condensate discharge to the sewer is preferable, but expensive. If you plan to install a block above the sidewalk, then this is the only acceptable option.

10. Do not install the outdoor unit on a weak base, for example, on a wall made of hollow bricks or thin metal. The fragility of the supporting structure almost always causes excessive noise, the elimination of which takes a lot of effort and money. Yes, and the air conditioner can simply fall.

If you need a high-quality installation (installation) of split systems in Krasnodar, the company's specialists will help you with this website

All air conditioners are divided into two large classes according to different designs: monoblock - consisting of one block (window, mobile) and split - systems (from the English 'split' - separate) - consisting of several blocks.

In split systems, the following are separate: an indoor unit located inside the room and an outdoor unit located outside the room with a compressor located in it. Also, all air conditioners can be divided into household, semi-industrial and industrial. Domestic air conditioners include: air conditioners with a power of up to 7 kW, used for air conditioning small rooms - in our case, apartments.

Monoblock air conditioners

1. Window air conditioners with power from 1.5kw to 5.5kw are designed for cooling. Sometimes you can find models that have a heating function and even a remote control. The main disadvantages are a decrease in the illumination of the room, due to the use of most of the window opening, where the air conditioner unit crashes and a high noise level compared to modern split systems. The advantage is the possibility of adding fresh air from the street (up to 10% of the volume passing through the air conditioner). Although they are cheap and easy to install.

2. Mobile air conditioners look like a small bedside table with wheels. They can be easily moved from one room to another, because. they do not require special installation, it is only necessary to bring the air duct (flexible hose, up to 16 cm in diameter) through a hole in the wall or a window. Together with the air, heat is transferred from the room to the street through this duct, so that such air conditioners work like an exhaust hood. The disadvantages of mobile air conditioners are: low cooling capacity, low efficiency and increased noise, because. the compressor is in the room.

Split systems

leaders modern market are split-systems of a household type (systems consisting of two blocks: internal and external). They meet all the requirements of modernity and are most effective in operation.

The outdoor and indoor units of the air conditioner are interconnected by an electric cable and copper pipes through which the refrigerant circulates. Most modern split systems have different additional functions, such as: heating mode, dehumidification mode, ventilation mode.

All modern split systems are equipped with a remote control with a liquid crystal display. With its help, the following are set: the mode of operation of the air conditioner, the temperature in the room, and also the time of turning on or off the air conditioner, the speed and direction of the flow of cooled air are regulated.

Such air conditioners are divided into: wall, ceiling, floor, column, cassette and channel.

1. Wall air conditioner - the most popular and not very expensive type, it is quite easy to install. The power of domestic wall-mounted air conditioners ranges from 1.5 to 12 kW, which is enough to cool an area from 15 to 120 m²

2. Ducted air conditioner - a conventional split system with an outdoor unit and a ducted indoor unit. indoor unit duct air conditioner it looks like a metal box with holes for air intake and exhaust, as well as fittings for freon communications and a drain pipe outlet.

Ducted air conditioners are designed for concealed installation, but their main advantage is that they distribute air through the duct system. A fan is installed in the indoor unit of the duct air conditioner. Thus, the use of one channel air conditioner can solve the problems of both ventilation and air conditioning of several rooms at once.

3. A column (floor) air conditioner is used in large rooms where it is undesirable to violate architectural features. They are commonly used for large old mansions, estates and castles. Depending on the shape and size of the room, the column system can be installed as a channel-type split system, that is, to distribute cooled or heated air throughout the system ventilation ducts. At the same time, the efficiency of using the air conditioner is significantly increased.

Cassette air conditioner

Cassette air conditioners have a capacity for cold and heat (5-14 kW) and are used in rooms with false ceilings. They fit perfectly into the interior and in many cases their use is the only solution to the problem of air conditioning. Cassette air conditioners also consist of an external and internal unit. The indoor unit is mounted in the space behind the false ceiling. Uniform cooling / heating of the room is achieved by supplying air in four directions at once. The tilt angle of the blinds is set using the remote control.

4. Floor - ceiling air conditioner is an alternative to cassette air conditioner. They differ in small depth - 18 - 25 centimeters. They are installed, as the name implies, either at the bottom of the wall or on the ceiling. In this case, the air flow in the first case is directed upwards, in the second - horizontally along the ceiling.

5. A multi-split system is a type of split system in which several indoor units work with one outdoor unit at once. Typically, such air conditioners have from two to five wall-mounted indoor units with a capacity of 2-5 kW, however, there are multi-systems with indoor units of duct, cassette, floor, ceiling type or combination units various types. It is reasonable to use multi-split systems when the task is to air-condition several neighboring rooms - rooms country house. Each indoor unit maintains the set temperature independently of the others and has its own remote control. Each compressor serves and has its own independent refrigeration circuit.

Air conditioning is a rather complicated device, and therefore perform correct installation Devices are not for everyone. As a rule, they turn to a service center for help in installing an air conditioner, since this work requires both certain knowledge and the availability of specialized tools. Nevertheless, the happy owner of the air conditioner will also find something to do. He will have to determine where the blocks will be mounted, and where - the communications of the unit.

About installing the outdoor unit

Often this part of the split system is recommended to be placed on the balcony, but in this case you will not be able to glaze the balcony. If this prospect scares you, there is an option to install an outdoor unit on the roof or in the attic of the house. I must say that the last location will require you to periodically ventilate the attic or organize forced ventilation in this place.

The least successful experts recognize the installation of air conditioning on the facade of the building. In this case, the block becomes vulnerable, so it will be enclosed in a protective cage. In addition, such a box does not decorate the facade of the house at all. However, the choice is always yours.

About indoor unit installation

It is not recommended to install this element of a split system in a nursery or bedroom, as this is the shortest path to colds. In addition, with this arrangement, it becomes inconvenient to remove the condensate. When installing the indoor unit in the corridor, you have the opportunity to bring the drainage pipeline into the sewer.

Also important is the correct placement of communications that connect the external and internal units. When installing the outer part on the facade, you can connect the individual components of the split system by laying grooves on the ceiling or walls. When installing the unit on the roof, you have two placement options. The first (optimal) is to place communications in an elevator or ventilation shaft, the second is to run them along outer wall Houses. In the latter case, it certainly spoils appearance building. In addition, such communication pipes will always be endangered from the outside.

About wiring

On average, the considered systems consume about 7-9 kW of power. As a rule, the wiring of apartments is not designed for this load, so you will have to carry out a separate laying of the electrical cable from the power panel.

Carrying out the installation of an air conditioner on your own is a rather risky undertaking, because in this case all warranty obligations for the maintenance, repair and replacement of this equipment are removed from both the manufacturer and the distributor. Despite this, the desire to save on the installation of air conditioning prevails over caution, and people carry out the installation themselves. It should be noted that the presence of detailed instructions, some tools and an assistant makes the installation of an air conditioner on your own quite real. In order to visually verify this, you can familiarize yourself with our scheme. self installation conditioner.

An air conditioner, as a rule, consists of two specialized units - an internal one, designed for indoor placement, and an external one, located outside, they also come with accessories necessary for its installation. After studying the instructions and understanding the purpose of all components, you can proceed to the installation itself. Installing an air conditioner on your own is carried out in stages, and each stage deserves special attention.

Who should install the air conditioner?

Who should install the air conditioner? Do it yourself or leave it to the professionals? Everyone who has ever purchased an air conditioner has asked this question. From correct installation air conditioner depends on the duration and reliability of the climate equipment. Often, due to poor-quality installation, the air conditioner fails in the first months of its operation.

So, the model and brand of the air conditioner is selected, the air conditioner is purchased, it's up to the installation. The installation of an air conditioner is not limited, like any household appliances, to a simple connection to the network, there are special rules defined in SNiP. Installation of the conditioner begins with installation. In practice, it looks like this: an installation team comes to you with special tools, various components and assembles your air conditioner. Your air conditioner will serve you faithfully for a long time only if you contact a trusted serious organization with qualified specialists.

Buying expensive climate equipment, buyers often think that installing an air conditioner is not a serious matter, so they turn to little-known companies that claim that installing an air conditioner from them will cost a much lower amount than from other companies. So-called "one-day firms" under various names suddenly appear on the market and just as suddenly disappear. Enticed by the low price, statements about the “quality of components” and an eternal guarantee, the consumer also purchases the equipment itself from dubious firms, not realizing the true quality of the “pig in a poke”. Turning to the "one-day firm" for the installation (assembly) of the air conditioner, you sign a death sentence for your climate technology. Pseudo-specialists do not spend money on a professional tool, but manage with a minimum number of tools such as pliers or a hacksaw. What is the quality of the work performed and the guarantee for the equipment?

Contact the companies where the installation (assembly) of air conditioners and any other climatic equipment is carried out by qualified specialists who have previously been trained in the installation centers of the largest climatic companies. Professional installation of the air conditioner will significantly save time, money and nerves, eliminate the need to deal with issues of warranty (post-warranty) service. Don't skimp on installation!

Proper installation of the air conditioner

Important details. Take an interest in the dimensions of the proposed equipment. It may happen that in all other respects the air conditioner suits you, but it will not fit into the interior of the apartment in any way. An important, although forgotten by many, moment is the color of the external unit. A good technique should have a multi-layer acrylic coating, which is 5-6 times more reliable than ordinary paint, protects the device from corrosion. Ask about reliability different models, the availability of warranty and service. When buying air conditioning equipment, experts recommend paying not for the amount of air conditioning function, but for its reliability.

Often, customers who want to install an overly powerful air conditioner in an apartment (or several conventional units at once) forget that the home electrical network may not be able to cope with the upcoming load. The consequences of such a thoughtless step are going to authorities, agreeing on permission to increase electricity consumption, laying cables, additional financial costs, etc. The power of the consumed energy is approximately half or a third of the cooling power. For example, an air conditioner with a cooling capacity of 2.5 kW consumes about 0.8 - 0.9 kW of electricity.

It is better to install the air conditioner before or during the repair, because. for laying electrical wiring and mounting brackets for the indoor unit, it is necessary to hammer and drill the walls of the apartment.

When concluding an agreement with the company for the maintenance and installation of an air conditioner, pay attention to the fact that the text of the agreement contains all the services agreed earlier, as well as the terms for the installation of equipment. A quality installation will cost at least S200-300 dollars. Practice shows that more than 80% of all defects found in air conditioning systems in recent years are caused by unskilled installation of an air conditioner or other equipment.

Where does the installation begin?

To any, even a low-power (from 1.5 kW) air conditioner, it is necessary to carry out hotel wiring and install a separate machine in the electrical panel. Old wiring may not withstand the load and heat up.

During the standard installation of a split system air conditioner, the following operations are performed: - fixing the external and internal units - drilling holes in wall-mounting freon pipelines - installation drainage system- installation of electrical connections - removal of air from freon pipelines - test run of equipment.

Fixing the outdoor and indoor units When mounting the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, the following points should be taken into account: It is practical to install it on a non-glazed balcony. If the balcony is glazed or not, the outdoor unit of the air conditioner must be installed within reach, because. equipment needs preventive maintenance. Otherwise, you will have to call a climber, which is quite expensive.

The surface of the wall must be strong enough to bear the weight of the block, and smooth - otherwise the block will vibrate and deform. The external unit of the air conditioner must be installed at a distance of at least 10 cm from the wall, otherwise the compressor will overheat in the heat and fail.

To mount the outdoor unit, holes are drilled and special brackets and bolts are used. Fastening takes place with the help of a mounting plate strictly according to the level and must withstand a weight several times greater than the weight of the block. Features of mounting the air conditioner: Regardless of the height at which the outdoor unit is installed, it is necessary to make a metal visor above it. This will protect the device from snow and icicles.

On high floors, the outdoor unit is mounted from a machine equipped with a sliding ladder. If the installation is carried out above the 5th floor, climbers are called. Such calls are paid separately and cost from $60 to $150. If you live on the upper floors, then the outdoor unit can be placed on the roof. At the same time, the difference between the indoor and outdoor units in height should not exceed 3-20 meters (depending on the brand of air conditioner and model).

When installing outdoor units of air conditioners on walls made of sandwich panels (tin, fittings and thermal insulation), as well as on the roofs of buildings with metal roofing (corrugated sheet, metal tiles), strong vibration and increased noise are possible. Therefore, it is necessary to plan a separate foundation with special stands and vibration isolators.

When installing an air conditioner in an apartment on the ground floor, you can hang the outdoor unit at a height of 1.8-2 meters above the ground and hide it in a special cage. Installing an outdoor air conditioner unit is a responsible matter. During the warranty period, the company that installed the air conditioner is responsible for the consequences of dropping a loose unit or poor performance.

The indoor unit is also installed on special brackets, which are fastened with screws to the wall (if the unit is wall-mounted) or the ceiling (if it is ceiling-mounted). When installing the indoor unit of the air conditioner, there should be no distortions. Otherwise, water (condensate) will flow out of it onto the floor, which, according to the installation rules, must be discharged through a drainage pipe into a special tank. (Usually bring the drain tube to the street or into the sewer).

Places where the indoor unit should not be installed.

  • Over any heat source. Otherwise, the air conditioner will constantly work at full capacity and quickly fail. In rooms where devices with high-frequency electromagnetic oscillations (drill, drilling machine) are constantly used. Their work can knock down the setting of the processor installed inside the air conditioner.
  • Above the bed or above the workplace (to avoid colds). In places where air circulation will be difficult, such as behind curtains. The distance to the obstacle (wall, furniture, etc.) must be at least 3 meters. Otherwise, the air flow from the air conditioner will be reflected from the obstacle and return back with the same temperature as it left the unit. The air conditioner setting will show that the desired climate is set and the unit will turn off.

In a standard apartment, when installing a channel split system, they most often do the following: the indoor unit is hidden under a false ceiling where a high ceiling height is not particularly needed (in a dark room, in a corridor or in a toilet). Air grilles are installed above doorways, leading from the rooms to the common corridor - and the false ceiling in the rest of the living quarters can be omitted. Drilling holes. Holes are necessary for laying inter-unit communications (freon pipeline and electric cable) and for installing a drainage system. For work, a perforator with a drill of 45-70 mm is used. The holes are drilled with a downward slope towards the outer wall to allow the condensate to drain freely from the sump of the indoor unit.

Installation of freon pipelines.

Installation of the pipeline is the most important stage, on which the final result largely depends. Usually the pipeline is laid in decorative box or hiding behind a wall. In the latter case, appropriate strobes are prepared in advance in the wall of the room. Pipe cutting, bending, edge cleaning and flaring are performed using special tools (pipe cutters, pipe benders, scrapers and flaring tools). In some cases, soldering may be required. Signs of poor performance in this case are the neglect of cleaning the pipeline from chips, poor-quality rolling, pipe creases.

It is impossible to bend the tubes with freon several times in a small area and unscrew their connections. If the tubes are twisted into a ring with a radius of less than 100 mm, then it will be more difficult for the compressor to pump freon. The consequence of all this will be a freon leak, a decrease in the power of the air conditioner, and a compressor failure.

Installation of electrical connections, drainage pipeline.

Inside the room, the freon pipeline, electric cable and drainage hose are usually laid together (in a box or in a strobe). It is important that the section of the electrical cable used matches the power of the air conditioner. It is also necessary to remember about grounding, to prevent creases and ruptures of the drainage hose when passing holes in the wall and touching bare parts of the pipeline. The hole in the wall after laying this "beam" is filled with a heat insulator to prevent freezing of water and the appearance of drafts in the room.

For the device of the drainage pipeline of the air conditioner, it is necessary to use only a specially designed reinforced tube. It should bend easily, without changing the round internal section, and be perfectly smooth inside. The drainage tube, through which the accumulated moisture is removed, must necessarily go at an inclination of 5-10 mm so that there is a natural flow of water. If for some reason the tilt cannot be done, it is necessary to install a special pump to force the removal of moisture.

Violation of the technology leads to an electrical hazard, melting of the drainage hose, drafts, and condensate entering the room. When draining the drainage into the sewerage system inside the premises, a siphon (water seal) must be installed on the line in front of the drainage discharge point so that unpleasant odors do not penetrate.

Removal of moisture and air from the pipeline.

The pipeline of the air conditioning system must be cleaned of moisture and air, since their interaction with freon adversely affects the operation of the air conditioner. A vacuum pump is used for operation. Neglect of this operation leads to loss of air conditioner power, possible failure of the compressor, a sharp reduction in the life of the equipment.

Test run of the air conditioner.

At this stage, the installers must turn on the split system by installing it on the test program. If everything works, and the case does not vibrate, then it is in order. If necessary, the refrigerant is recharged or bled off.

Operation and preventive maintenance.

For long trouble-free operation of the air conditioner, certain operating rules must be observed.

Specialists of RostComfort LLC name the following main reasons for the failure of the air conditioner.

1. Dirty filters of the indoor unit. The air filter protects the heat exchanger of the indoor unit, which, if dusty, reduces the efficiency of the air conditioner. In fact, the air conditioner works like a vacuum cleaner, and the filters play the role of a dust collector. To clean the filters, it is enough to rinse them in warm water and dry them for a few minutes or vacuum them once every two to three weeks.

If the filters are not cleaned for a long time, then the air in the room will cool worse, the operation of the refrigeration system will be disrupted, which can lead to freezing of copper pipelines. In this case, when the air conditioner is turned off, the ice will start to melt and water will drip from the air conditioner. Filter cleaning is not included in the standard warranty service and must be carried out by the consumer in accordance with the instructions for use.

2. Freon leak. The second most common cause of air conditioner failure is a regulated freon leak. Rated leakage (about 6-8% per year) always occurs. To compensate for it, the air conditioner must be refueled with freon every 1.5-2 years. The compressor during operation is cooled by freon, with its lack, overheating and jamming are possible. The cost of replacing a compressor is about half the cost of a new air conditioner.

3. Drops in the middle of winter. If you turn on the air conditioner with the drain piping outside for cooling at sub-zero outside temperatures, the water inside the piping may freeze, forming an ice plug. Therefore, it is necessary to take care in advance of heating the drainage pipeline to + 5 ° C. For this, a special cable is used. If an ice plug does arise, you will have to wait for a thaw, not turning on the cooling system until the onset of heat.
