First of all, we determine the installation location, or rather, the installation height of the handles.

There are no strict restrictions in this regard. Typically, the height of the handle from the floor ranges from 1 to 1.2 meters. This height is sufficient for both adults and children.

They are different for different pens. In addition, they depend on the thickness of the interior door.

Also in the instructions, as a rule, there is a template for installing handles, where all geometric parameters are indicated. We will be mainly interested in the dimensions of the holes for the pawl, the handle itself and their relative position. The diameter of the feather drill and crown depends on these dimensions.

Therefore, the necessary tool must be bought after buying pens.

It is important to note that the drill and crown must be purchased with a diameter equal to the diameter of the hole in the instructions for installing the handles. If you use a larger tool, then it is likely that the decorative overlay will not close the hole. If it's smaller, then the handle just won't fit. At the same time, remaking holes for a larger size is very laborious and problematic.

Much easier and faster to do everything right at once.

Now you can directly proceed to install the handle in the interior door. For this, holes are marked for the handle itself and the dog. For these purposes, it is convenient to use a ruler as in the photo.

To do without burrs and chips on the door, proceed as follows. First, a hole is drilled with a drill with a diameter of 5-6 mm. Then, with a crown, an incision is made on one side of the door with a depth of at least 5-10 mm. After that, a hole is drilled with a crown on the other side of the door.

The latch has a platform 2-3 mm thick. To ensure that the door closes well under the platform, a groove is cut with a chisel. It is convenient to first drill a hole, then insert the latch and mark the groove along it, and then cut it out with a chisel.

After the holes are ready, insert the dog and circle it with a pencil.

And with the help of a chisel we make a groove. This groove is necessary so that the pawl platform is flush with the door and does not interfere with opening and closing.

Wrap the screws carefully and do not break the notch for the screwdriver. To simplify screwing, you can pre-drill holes for self-tapping screws with a drill with a diameter of 3-4 mm.

This groove can also be made using a milling cutter. But for this you need to pre-make a template, which is not advisable for a “one-time” installation of handles.

After the preparation is completed, install the handle on the door and wrap the screws.

One half of the handle is installed in the latch groove. The halves of the handle are connected with screws.

Installing a door handle-lock in an interior door

It is important not to overtighten the screws, otherwise the handle may wedge.

It is also advisable to stock up on a conductor. It is a template that greatly simplifies the operation of marking holes on the door leaf and their subsequent drilling.

Mortise mechanism

Having prepared these devices, determine the installation height of the fittings we are interested in. Experts say that the handle should be about 0.8-1 m away from the floor. In principle, you can choose a different height, given your own height. The main thing is that you and your family members feel comfortable using the pen. Now you can do the markup. 2. In the middle of the drawn line at the end of the interior design, put a mark. It indicates the place where you will drill a hole for the tongue.
3. On the drawn line, you also outline the areas for mounting the handle itself (marks must be placed on both sides of the canvas).

This completes the preparation for installation. You can proceed to the main event.

Let's see how to install the door handle itself simple type- overhead. The first step is to make a through hole in the canvas. In order not to damage the door, use crowns and an electric drill to carry out such an operation. After that, it is necessary to drill the interior structure from the end. In this case, you need to use a crown with a smaller size or a special drill-pen. Further, everything is simple:

1. Insert the locking mechanism with the tongue into the hole made. Check if the system is working or not.
2. Outline the overlay. Be sure to remove a small layer of material in the circled area with a chisel. Then, when installing the overlay, you will not worry that it will spoil the appearance of the door. After processing the specified area, you can easily mount this part of the handle flush.

You will need to drill an additional hole in the door leaf so that the position of the latch mechanism is fully aligned with it. Then you thread the axis into the lock and put a cap on it. • mark the door structure;
• draw a contour;
• drill several holes in the marked area, and then, using a chisel, hollow out the required area to accommodate the mechanism;
• remove 2–3 mm of the door covering to install the decorative trim flush;
• mount the lock, fix its elements.

After that, insert the handle, fix it. Put the nozzle into the recess on the frame and fasten it with self-tapping screws. To make the installation of the latch handle as easy as possible, you will need:

1. Hand drill or screwdriver.
2. Crown on a tree with a diameter of 50 mm.
3. Drill for wood with a diameter of 23-24 mm.
4. Chisel.

The crown and drill bit can be bought separately, or as a set, which is called the “Latch Handle Insertion Kit”.

Installing the latch

1. We begin the installation process by marking the door leaf for drilling. The marking scheme, as a rule, comes with the handle.

If there is no scheme, then you can mark it manually. To do this, put a mark at a distance of 60 mm from the edge of the door.

2. On the side edge of the door along the axial marking line, mark the center for drilling.

3. Using a chisel, we hollow out a three-millimeter recess under the front latch plate. It makes sense to pre-mark the center with an awl so that you do not have to mark it again.

4. We drill a through hole with a crown with a diameter of 50 mm. It is better to do this on both sides of the door in order to avoid damage to the door covering at the exit of the crown when drilling.

Using the supplied key or any other thin flat object:
