What are the slopes of the plastic windows attached to. PVC window slopes - features and detailed installation. Installation guide for plastic window slopes

The process of installing windows is coming to an end and you are already in anticipation of the new look of the room? However, do not forget about the slopes, without which it is clearly impossible to get an aesthetic picture. How to make slopes on plastic windows? How difficult is it to do it yourself? You will receive answers to these questions by reading the article.

As a result of reading our article, you will have the same beautiful window

Why plastic slopes

Currently, plastic slopes are becoming more and more in demand. A one-piece design that fits into any interior quite harmoniously, low cost and ease of installation, which allows you to do all the work yourself - these are the main competitive advantages of panels made of plastic.

There are two ways to make plastic slopes with your own hands:

  1. by using start profiles;
  2. without using the start profile.

The starting profile allows you to install slopes as evenly as possible, which, in turn, will affect the correct shape of the window as a whole. In addition, its use in the construction of slopes allows you to get a strong hermetic connection. However, there are times when using the start profile is quite difficult or even impossible. For example, if the distance from the wall to the frame is too small.

Advantages

The advantages of slopes made of plastic include the following factors:

  • low cost;
  • fairly long service life;
  • a wide range of colors and as a result the ability to decorate any room;
  • ease of care, because dirt is perfectly removed from the plastic with a damp cloth;
  • quick and easy installation;
  • Possibility of use both indoors and outdoors.

disadvantages

The disadvantages of plastic slopes include exposure to high temperatures. In addition, if for some reason a crack or hole appears on the plastic, you will have to change the panel completely.

The choice of panel thickness for slopes

If you have made your choice in favor of plastic slopes, let's figure out how to make them yourself. The first thing you will encounter is the purchase of the panels themselves. Do not choose them with a thickness of less than 8 mm. Based on the dimensions of your window opening, take panels with a small margin, especially if this will be your first slope.

In addition, you will also need the following materials:

  • mounting foam;
  • wooden blocks that will be attached to the side and upper sides of the window opening;
  • self-tapping screws and dowels for fixing the starting profile and wooden bars;
  • the starting profile itself and the F-shaped bar;
  • silicone in the color of plastic panels;
  • decorative corners;
  • liquid Nails.

Do not forget that slopes can be made only 36 hours after the end of the window installation. It is during this period that the mounting foam finally hardens.

Installation of slopes using the starting profile

Procedure (photos can be enlarged by clicking on them):

We clean the wall from various debris, cut off the foam where it will interfere with work.

  • We protect the glass and frame from possible damage, if necessary.
  • We determine all the dimensions of the window and cut out the wooden bars of the desired length.

  • We fasten the bars

    We fasten the bars on each side of the window using a level. The heads of the self-tapping screws are sunk a few mm into the tree.

  • We carefully check the position of the wooden frame: all the bars must be in the same plane. If on this stage give a blunder with evenness, you can forget about the correct geometric shape of the window as a whole.
  • We fix the starting profile

    Along the very edge of the wooden bars, we mount the starting profile as tightly as possible to the frame itself using a construction stapler. It is very important to cut the profile exactly at an angle of 45 degrees in those places where there will be a point of contact between the horizontal and vertical planes. Otherwise, it will not be possible to achieve a perfectly flat surface. It is best to purchase a profile that is denser, as it will not bend. Moreover, it will take no more than 3 meters to finish one window.
    Measure and cut

    We insert a plastic panel into the groove of the starting profile and mark the height of the opening. After that, we take out and carefully cut. To avoid unpleasant situations, remember that we measure and cut each panel separately with a small margin.

  • We insert the panels already cut to size with one edge into the starting profile, carefully fill the space between the panel and the wall with mounting foam. You should not foam the slope too much, because it can be severely spread or even a bend or crack may appear if the plastic is not of high quality. The closer the outer edge of the opening, the less foam.
  • We fix the leveled slope with masking tape for 24 hours.
  • Cover with tape until completely dry.

    After that, we close the places of contact between the wall and the slope with decorative corners, which we fasten with liquid nails.

  • The vertical and horizontal stripes that cover the insulation are cut out at an angle of 45 degrees.
  • We seal all existing joints with silicone in the color of the panels.
  • What to do if the distance from the panel to the wall is too large

    If the distance from the wall to the future slope is quite large, it is reasonable to make another frame of wooden bars along the outer perimeter of the window opening:

    1. An F-shaped bar is fastened to it, also with the help of building brackets.
    2. We insulate the space between the wall and the future slope, and then insert the panel with one edge into the starting profile, and with the other into the F-shaped bar.
    3. After that, we fix each panel to the F-shaped bar using staples in increments of 20-30 cm at an angle of 45 degrees, install decorative corners and seal all joints with silicone.

    When working with mounting foam, you should know a few features. If the surface is smooth, the level of grip will not be very good. In order to avoid this, the surface, which will later be turned to the wall, should be treated with a sandpaper and a primer. In addition, for the full polymerization of the foam, the surface must be slightly damp. For this reason, the slope wall is minimally sprayed with water.

    Mounting without using the start profile

    The procedure, the first steps are the same as the first method:

    1. We completely clean the walls of debris and interfering foam.

    2. Also, do not forget to protect the glass and frame from possible damage, for example, with mounting tape.

    3. We measure the size of all external window openings and cut out wooden bars of the desired size.

    Rails are fixed around the perimeter

    4. We fasten the bars evenly on each side with the help of self-tapping screws. The heads of the self-tapping screws are sunk a few mm into the tree.

    Cutout in the foam across the width of the panels

    5. We measure the width of the plastic panel and exactly the same amount of mounting foam is cut around the entire perimeter of the frame.

    6. Carefully mark the panels (taking into account 1 cm, which will go into the foam and a little should be taken as a reserve) and cut out. For greater convenience, you can use cardboard or old wallpaper as a stencil. If the cut edge is uneven, it should be processed with a file or sandpaper.

    Inserting the top panel

    7. Insert the panel with one edge 1 cm into the cutout prepared in the foam, and fix it to the wooden bar with the other. The easiest way is to use a construction stapler, driving staples every 20-30 cm at an angle of 45 degrees.

    This is how it should be

    8. The cavity between the wall and the slope is insulated with mineral wool or mounting foam.

    We fix the joints with masking tape until the foam grabs

    9. We close the contact points of the wall and the slope with decorative corners fixed on liquid nails.

    10. All joints are sealed with silicone.

    2. Mounting method without starting profile:

    Rules for finishing the slopes of plastic windows and step-by-step installation instructions for your own hands

    Replacing old frames with the installation of new window blocks makes the slopes unusable. Installation work is accompanied by cleaning of the plaster layer adjacent to the attachment points. As a result, the space around the window looks unaesthetic. When finishing slopes plastic windows use traditional way and modern, less labor-intensive technologies.

    The device and materials of slopes

    Window slopes perform decorative, light and heat-shielding functions. The mounting seams between the window system and the wall are covered with foam, which must be protected from ultraviolet radiation. Under his influence construction material begins to collapse, as a result, through cracks may form.

    The heat-insulating layer next to the frame will eliminate the penetration of cold air from the street. Window design is an integral part room design, which should harmoniously fit into the interior.

    PVC panels

    For slopes, a plastic ceiling lining is used. It is made in the form of two plates with internal jumpers, giving it rigidity. As a finish, panels with a thickness of 1.2 centimeters are suitable. Thinner ones will have finger dents when installed and will not withstand the pressure of the foam. The color scale of plastic panels allows to pick up any tone. Natural wood frames are suitable for plates with imitation of natural material. When installing PVC planes, you will need fittings that hide corner joints and places of contact with the wall and frame.

    Surface cladding is also performed with special thermally insulating sandwich panels, in which polystyrene is located between the plastic plates. Thickness wall panels- from 1.2 to 1.5 centimeters with a width of 1-1.2 meters.

    Advantages of slopes made of PVC and sandwich panels:

    • moisture resistance;
    • frost resistance;
    • ease of care;
    • environmental friendliness;
    • creating a hard, even surface;
    • combination with plastic windows;

    Installation is not accessible to a specialist finisher, if you follow the installation instructions carefully and slowly.

    Plaster

    The traditional method of finishing slopes with a cement and putty mixture, followed by painting. Plastering requires experience and time to make the coating even, without cracks. Quality plaster has a long service life.

    Drywall

    Dry plaster (drywall) is often used as internal slopes. The building material is easy to work with, it can be installed with a heater. To protect against moisture and create an interior, plasterboard panels are primed and painted.

    Necessary tools and materials for installation

    The complete list of tools depends on the finish option.

    Tools needed for any kind of design:

    1. Level. With its help, planes are leveled, profiles, strips are installed.
    2. Square. The slope angle from the frame can be straight or more, which is determined by the tool.
    3. Pencil for marking walls and panels.
    4. Tape measure to determine the size of the opening and material consumption.

    To plaster the surface of the opening, you will need:

    • trowel for applying cement and putty mixture;
    • spatulas for leveling slopes;
    • rule for guides;
    • grater for grouting surfaces;
    • corner leveler;
    • container for the mixture;
    • power tool with kneading attachment.

    For plastic panels and drywall you need:

    • a sharp blade to cut the foam;
    • saw for metal - cut panels;
    • scissors for metal - cut fittings;
    • gun for polyurethane foam and sealant;
    • construction stapler.

    Plastered surfaces and drywall are primed and painted with flute brushes. Accessories for the installation of plastic panels:

    • starting profile;
    • F‑profile;
    • corner profile;
    • self-tapping screws / dowels;
    • Staples.

    Wooden slats will be needed for plastering openings and can be used when installing PVC panels. When replacing plastic plates on a sandwich panel, there is no need for a start and corner profile.

    Depending on the type of slopes, they purchase mounting foam, putty, primer mixture, paint, white silicone.

    How to properly trim the internal slopes with your own hands

    Regardless of the finishing option, preparatory work is carried out:

    • remove old plaster if it is cracked;
    • remove wallpaper or a layer of paint;
    • clean surfaces from dust;
    • primed with an antifungal agent.

    Further steps depend on the type of design of the window pier.

    Plaster without insulation

    The sequence of finishing the openings with a plaster-putty mixture:

    1. Installation along the outer contour of the window opening of a metal profile (external guides) using a level. Wall fixing with dowels. The profile should be wider than the edge of the wall by the thickness of the plaster layer (about 1 centimeter).
    2. The perforated corner is attached close to the frame in height and width (internal guides). Its height must coincide with the protruding edge of the outer profile.
    3. The prepared mixture is applied to the walls for a given thickness of the plaster. An outer corner is formed.
    4. After the beginning of the hardening of the solution, it is leveled with the help of a rule and guides. The movement starts from the window sill to the ceiling, along the guides. Excess mixture is immediately removed.
    5. After the plaster has dried, the outer profile is removed. A gypsum putty is applied to the corner ledges, on which a paint corner is installed.
    6. When the paint corner is dry, it inner part hide under a new layer of putty, leveled by the rule. Outside, they are fixed with a mortar, pressing and leveling with a spatula.
    7. For internal corners use an angled spatula.
    8. A millimeter of finishing putty is applied to the finished layer.
    9. The last stage: grouting the surface.

    Plastered surfaces are primed and painted.

    Plaster with insulation

    Thermal insulation of plastered slopes keeps the walls warm in any frost. For insulation, polystyrene foam panels up to 1.5 centimeters in thickness are used. Installation begins with side slopes. "Liquid nails" are applied to the surface of the panel and glued to the prepared (leveled, dust-free) wall.

    Wide slopes require additional fixation for strength. From the side of the wall, a dowel with a wide cap (fungal dowel) is inserted into the insulation (recessed by 1 millimeter), through which expansion nails are driven in.

    Then, corners are glued to the outer corners, from which a fiberglass mesh is laid to reinforce the plaster layer. Buttons are used to evenly distribute the mesh over the foam, after which a thin layer of starting putty is applied to it. After leveling and complete drying, apply finishing putty. The completion of work is similar to puttying without insulation.

    PVC panels

    The fastening of ordinary plastic panels and panels with insulation has minor differences. A starting profile is attached along the inner contour, to which a corner profile is attached. Attached to the outer edge of the opening plastic F-profile, acting as a panel holder and casing. Then they make measurements of the slopes, cutting the material and installation. Sandwich panels are mounted with a starting profile or through a groove in the mounting joint.

    Installation of plasterboard slopes

    To remove slopes from drywall, you will need mounting foam, putty. Installation begins by cutting a gap in the mounting foam around the window frame. With a clerical knife, a recess is made in it by 5 millimeters per sheet width. Slopes are measured and material is cut.

    The top slope is placed first. Putty is applied to the edge. Drywall is inserted and slightly bent. The gap between the slope and the wall is foamed, after which the slope is pressed with a piece of board along the entire length of the slope.

    Until the foam is completely dry, the slope must be pressed against the wall.

    Sidewalls are installed in the same way. Then a metal corner is glued to the putty around the entire perimeter. After drying, drywall is puttied twice: with a starting and finishing mixture. The last stage of installation: priming, painting.

    How to install plastic slopes step by step

    In more detailed description installation of plastic slopes presents a step-by-step procedure.

    Ordinary

    PVC panels are installed using profiles and mounting foam.

    Opening preparation

    If plastic windows were replaced, then wallpaper, paint should be removed from the slopes using water or a building hair dryer. Retracted old plaster preventing the window from fully opening. Then, with a sharp knife, the foam protruding beyond the horizontal of the window frame is cut off. Foam is removed in the new building. The surface of the window opening is primed with an antiseptic.

    Guide profile fasteners

    Starting plastic profiles are attached to the frame with self-tapping screws, starting from the top opening.

    Do-it-yourself plastic slopes - quality for centuries

    Necessary tools and materials

    After installing new windows, do you feel like something is missing? Of course - you need to finish the slopes. And there is nothing difficult in installing plastic slopes with your own hands!

    Why is it better to stay on plastic slopes?

    If you decide that it's time to replace your old windows with new PVC windows, then you will have to carry out additional work to install new slopes. The slope is the space that is between the window and the wall. Literally a couple of years ago, this part of the window opening was given almost no attention - most often the space was simply plastered and whitewashed. However, today it became clear that this amount of work is not enough.

    Indeed, without well-treated slopes, the rooms will be damp, warm air will go outside through unsealed cracks and cracks, and mold may appear in the corners of windows due to dampness and temperature differences. High-quality processing of slopes will save you from such problems., especially since the cost of modern products is quite pleasant. In addition, plastic products have other advantages. So, they include:

    • low cost of products;
    • simple installation of plastic slopes with your own hands;
    • a wide selection of colors, so you can choose panels that match the design of the room;
    • practicality and long service life.

    In addition, we must not forget that such slopes will fully correspond to the window material, which is very important. For example, plaster slopes due to a mismatch in characteristics may begin to flake off after a few years. Although, it is worth recognizing, there are disadvantages. So, such products are characterized by low resistance to damage, and therefore all work must be carried out as carefully as possible.

    But this minus is easily "overlapped" by significant advantages. Thus, choosing from the mass of existing options (wooden and plaster slopes, drywall slopes), it is preferable to focus on PVC products.

    Do-it-yourself plastic slopes - execution technology

    Decided to install plastic slopes with your own hands? In fact, there is nothing complicated in this work, and absolutely any person who knows how to hold Building tools in hand. The main thing is to follow our instructions exactly.

    How to install plastic slopes with your own hands - step by step diagram

    Step 1: Surface preparation

    After installing windows, there is often dust and dirt that needs to be removed. In addition, do not forget about the need to remove excess foam. At this stage, you should also stick on a vapor barrier tape (inside the room) and a waterproofing tape (outside), especially for those who have wooden frames. Otherwise, after a couple of years, even the highest quality windows will begin to freeze through.

    Step 2: Applying the primer

    On the entire surface of future slopes, we apply a primer or a special antifungal solution, which can be purchased at a hardware store. You can start the next step only after the mixture is completely dry.

    Step 3: Installing the start profile

    Starting profile - a product that allows you to install slopes without the use of materials such as glue or silicone. It is attached either to the leveling rail, or to the window itself - as it is more convenient for anyone. However, experts prefer to choose the first option, considering it more reliable and practical. To install the leveling rail, measure the length along the inside of the slope. Next, we cut off the bar according to the specified parameters and fasten it with self-tapping screws along the contour of the window.

    After mounting the rail, we attach the starting profile to it. For this, it is preferable to use a construction stapler. If you decide not to install a leveling bar, then the starting profile is attached to the window using self-tapping screws in increments of up to 20 cm.

    Step 4: Installing the batten

    To create the crate, we use bars measuring 2 * 4 cm, which are attached to the outer edge of the slope with nails. To check the correct installation, it is advisable to use the building level.

    Step 5: Installing plastic slopes

    Installation of slopes starts with the installation of the upper bar. To begin with, we cut the product along the length, then carefully insert it into the starting profile and align it in width, cutting off the unnecessary. After the product has fallen into place, we fill the space between the wall and the slope with mounting foam. Don't forget that the foam will expand a little as it dries - if you don't leave some room for the foam, the slope may warp after a while. Then we press the product to the crate and fix it with self-tapping screws. The side slopes are installed in the same way.

    Important: It is best to use a jigsaw to trim the product. In extreme cases, you can use a metal file, the main thing is that it is equipped with small teeth - this minimizes the risk of damage plastic materials.

    Step 6: Installing the Trim

    Platbands - products that perform several tasks at once after the installation of slopes. Their main function is to connect two mating surfaces so that appearance windows and walls looked complete. In addition, it is the platbands that close the connecting seams from moisture, sunlight, dust and dirt.

    We measure the length of the platbands we need and cut it off using a hacksaw. By the way, it is undesirable to use a jigsaw for this operation, which can lead to damage to the product. The profile is carefully inserted into the ends of plastic products without the use of any connecting materials.

    Step 7: Finishing Stage

    At this stage, we need to carry out work to prevent the ingress of small debris and moisture between the slope and the window: it is better to seal all joints with white sealant. For its high-quality application, use a construction syringe, and carefully remove the remnants of the material with a rubber spatula that will not scratch the PVC slopes.

    Proper surface care - and repairs are not needed

    Now you know how to install plastic slopes with your own hands. But it should be noted that, despite all its positive qualities, PVC slopes and other window elements require care and maintenance. Only in this case it is possible to speak about their long term services.

    • Glasses and frames can be cleaned with common cleaning products. The main thing is that they do not contain "aggressive" ingredients (for example, alkali, acetone, solvents). On sale you can also find special care products for PVC surfaces.
    • All moving parts of the window should be lubricated at least twice a year technical means resin free. This will extend the life of the products.
    • All seals should be flushed with clean water to remove dirt and treat with cleaning products that include glycerin.

    If you want your windows to serve you as long as possible, you should consider the following tips from experts:

    Installation of plastic slopes. How to make slopes

    Do-it-yourself apartment renovation

    Plastic windows have become an integral part of our lives in the modern world. But installing such windows is only half the battle. After installation, you need to make window slopes. Slopes - this is the gap between the plastic window and the inner surface of the wall, that is, the window opening. Slopes are distinguished as internal (located inside the room) and external (located on the outside of the window). Today we will talk about how to make internal slopes with your own hands.

    Many people think that if the window is installed and foamed, then it has excellent insulation. In fact, this is not entirely true, since mounting foam, if it is not protected, can quickly absorb moisture, and deform during strong temperature changes. Therefore, the installation of slopes must be done in any case.

    Since they not only hide all the defects of the window opening, but also protect the mounting seams, improve noise and heat insulation, and also prevent the windows from fogging up. But all these positive properties will appear only with their high-quality and proper installation. With poor installation, up to 40% of heat will go through the slopes. From this we can draw an unambiguous conclusion: the installation of slopes of plastic windows is important and mandatory!

    How to make slopes. Types of slopes

    Stucco slopes
    If we consider plaster products, we can see that they do not have many advantages, but more disadvantages. Over time, the plaster will begin to crack, there will be a loss of color under the influence of the sun, and in the event of an inevitable shrinkage of the house, it can generally “move away” from the wall structure. In addition, these structures are not convenient in terms of installation time.

    Slopes are plastered in with the help of several layers, while each layer must be allowed to stand and dry. Then they are primed and painted. The whole process takes 1-2 weeks. And besides, when plastering slopes, it is desirable to have certain skills so that they turn out to be even. These slopes do not imply thermal insulation devices, therefore, with each hypothermia, condensation will appear on the window panes.

    Drywall slopes
    Products made of drywall are much more durable than their plaster counterparts. When insulated with mineral wool, they have good thermal insulation qualities.

    However, the "Achilles' heel" of drywall is its fear of moisture, as a result of which you will not get reliable waterproofing. So it is possible to mount such structures only in rooms with a small and constant level of humidity.

    Drywall slopes also require a certain skill level of the craftsman, as well as the production of priming and painting. In addition, the production time for such products does not differ much from plaster products.

    Plastic slopes
    This is the most versatile type of slopes. They are installed quickly, practical, wash well and do not fade in the sun. Plastic is quite durable and can last you about 15-20 years. It goes well with the plastic window itself, especially if you choose the right shade of the material.

    As a heater in such structures, mineral wool is usually used, which can give the slope good hydro and thermal insulation, which prevents windows from fogging and heat loss. The installation of plastic slopes is quite demanding on the performance class. Although, with a good study of technology, I think anyone can install them.
    Well, I hope we have given enough arguments in favor of plastic slopes. And if you decide make do-it-yourself slopes, without the help of professionals, then this review is what you need! So, here step technology installation of plastic slopes.

    How to make slopes on windows

    Installation of plastic slopes. Tools and materials

    To install plastic slopes you will need:

    1. Six-meter plastic panel 0.8 cm thick.
    2. U-shaped starting strip of plastic.
    3. F-shaped strip of plastic (F-ka).
    4. Wooden slats, 1-1.5cm thick
    5. Building level.
    6. Construction stapler and staples.
    7. Hammer drill or impact drill.
    8. Mineral wool as a heater.
    9. High-quality metal scissors and a sharp knife.
    10. Self-tapping screws 0.95 cm. In quantity from 10 pcs.
    11. Self-tapping screws (bugs) 0.45 cm.
    12. Silicone white.

    Do-it-yourself installation of plastic slopes

    Until the end of the process of “dusty” work, do not peel off the protective films from plastic windows and window sills so as not to scratch them.

    Stage one
    We nail wooden slats along the entire perimeter of the slope, using self-tapping screws 0.95 cm long. Make sure that our rail is fixed flush to the wall structure and does not stick out. Using a hammer drill or impact drill, fasten the rail directly to the wall structure. A prerequisite quality slopes is the precise vertical fastening of wooden slats.

    Small wooden blocks are used to level them. To achieve the ideal vertical, use the building level. All this work done will give the flexible plastic the necessary rigidity, create a frame on which the plastic panel will be attached.

    Stage two
    We fix the prepared starting strip along the outer perimeter of the plastic window itself, using self-tapping screws (bugs). Before stuffing our strip, it is necessary to make markings, for this, using a pencil and a level, outline the upper horizontal and right and left verticals, and fill the starting strip along even lines. On the starting strip there is a groove into which we will insert the plastic panel.

    This completes the second stage. You can remove the protective film from the plastic window and start pasting the wallpaper. No more dusty work!

    How to make slopes from plastic. The device slopes of plastic windows

    Stage three
    We fill the F-shaped strip. First, you need to cut it properly. We make marks exactly according to the height of our plastic slope, and cut the excess part as follows:

    The thing is that after stuffing the F-ki, an overlap is formed everywhere. Therefore, taking into account it, it is necessary to leave the "launch" when cutting it. Upon completion of all work, our overlap is removed with metal scissors.

    Now back to the method of attaching this strip. It is mounted with a stapler to a wooden rail. Moreover, the fastening occurs only for one of the two parallel ribs, since it is this space that will be hidden by the inserted plastic panel.
    The use of this technology is especially good in that it saves you from having to glue wallpaper around the window opening. The F-band will cover the defective area.

    Stage four
    Installed plastic slopes are insulated at the same time! We place the plastic panel in the starting strip at the far edge of the opening, place a layer of cotton wool behind it and fix the plastic in the F-ke. It should be noted that the plastic panel must be measured quite accurately. As you can see, in addition to insulating the window itself, we also create an environment that ideally preserves the building material of the wall. Because everything is pretty tight.

    And finally, a little advice: not perfectly fitted plastic joints must be covered with white silicone.

    That's all, the installation of plastic slopes is completed, you can enjoy the work done! We hope this article helped answer the question - how to make slopes with your own hands? Good luck with your repair!

    To complete the installation work front door or windows need to trim the slopes. A door or window slope can be made using plaster, drywall, plastic panels.

    The most common option for facing slopes are plastic panels. Since finishing window slopes inside with plastic is a universal solution. It should be noted that this building material is used for indoor and outdoor work.

    Benefits of plastic

    For facing the slopes of the house, the plaster method was previously used, then drywall, which was widely used for sheathing. But with the advent of PVC windows, plaster and drywall faded into the background. Since finishing the slopes with a plaster method has significant disadvantages. The main disadvantages are:

    • If you plaster the slopes yourself, it takes a lot of time.
    • With this type of finish, a lot of construction waste occurs.
    • Due to shrinkage and temperature changes, cracks may occur on the surface.
    • The constituent elements do not form the required adhesion with the plastic, as a result of which the slopes peel off from the window.

    To plaster the window opening well, you should use a perforated corner and beacons. The perforated corner is installed on the outer corners of the slope. To do this, you need to cut off the corner of the required size, putty is applied to the slopes and the perforated corner is pressed. The plaster beacon is installed vertically along the window frame. To do this, cut the lighthouse to the desired size, apply putty along the box and attach the prepared parts. After 40 minutes, you can plaster the slopes.

    Such a finishing material as drywall provides an opportunity to make slopes faster and warmer. But even the moisture-resistant version of this material does not withstand temperature changes and the influence of condensate. PVC slopes on windows have a more interesting appearance.

    But beauty is not their only advantage, the positive characteristics include:

    • The panels are made of the same material as the window frame, therefore, the near-window space P the premises acquires a monolithic structure.
    • It is enough just to install a heater. It should be noted that with proper insulation, the occurrence of condensate is impossible.
    • Installation of plastic panels practically does not create debris and noise.
    • This kind of building material can be used outside and inside, since polyvinyl chloride does not emit harmful substances.
    • Insensitive to moisture.
    • Duration of use.
    • It tolerates temperature fluctuations.
    • Ease of operation.
    • The building material differs in its excellent pricing policy, therefore, it is available to anyone who plans to install plastic window slopes with their own hands.

    The disadvantages of plastic include the impracticability of fragmentary restoration.

    The choice of building material

    Before you think about how to make plastic slopes yourself, you need to consider possible variations in materials. There are 2 types of plastic panels:

    1. Decorative.
    2. Sandwich panels.

    Decorative slopes can be used:

    • For the formation of partitions.
    • As a facing building material for balconies.

    For all other purposes, preference should be given to sandwich panels. This kind of material differs in that it has 2 protective layers, a facing layer of insulation. Such a structure avoids additional insulation. Key points panel selection:

    1. Preference should be given to building materials made from virgin plastic. Since the material is correctly selected, it will not change color, and the composition will not cause harm to health.
    2. It is better to give the choice to material with a significant cover of plastic. Panels with thin PVC sheeting are not durable. Over time, the plastic peels off the surface.

    Finishing window slopes with plastic requires the following materials:

    • Profile.
    • Self-tapping screws.
    • Dowel.
    • Wooden slats.
    • Gypsum insulation wool.
    • Liquid Nails.

    Preparatory moments

    To make the finishing of window slopes inside with plastic with high quality with your own hands, you need to clean the walls and prepare all the necessary fixtures and building materials. To form slopes, the thickness of the plastic strip should be 8 mm. The width and duration of the plastic should correspond to the size of the opening. Prepare and clean the walls step by step:

    1. Remove excess foam.
    2. FROM window profile you need to remove the shipping tape.
    3. Seal the inside seams.
    4. The upper and side sections of the hole should be freed from whitewash and leveled with putty.
    5. It is recommended to wipe the prepared area and apply 1-2 coats of primer.

    Technologists i formation and installation

    After preparing the opening around the circumference, a vapor barrier film should be glued. At the combination points, the sections of the film should be laid with an excess of 5-7 cm and glued along the seam. The tape must be glued so that the edges do not extend beyond the window frame. After that, you can proceed to the formation of slopes using the following instructions:

    • Fastening lumber material. For these purposes, wooden slats 15 mm thick and 40 mm wide are taken. It is necessary to trim the rails along the width and height of the outer edge of the opening. You need to fix the rails with dowels around the circumference of the opening. If the walls of the hole are wavy, then it is recommended to place wedges under the planks.
    • Make the right measurements carefully . It should be understood that all measurements must be taken from the frame, and not from the edge of the special profile.
    • Open slopes. The length and width of the walls of the hole should be correctly measured, and attention should be paid to the angle of inclination on each side. On the plate it is necessary to mark the cutting points and cut out the workpieces. The resulting elements should be attached to the wall and check their location and angular fit.
    • Special profile mount. A special profile should be attached along the outer edge of the opening with short screws. At the corners, when rallying the bars, the special profile should be fixed so that no gaps form. Installation of slopes begins with the manufacture of edging. This structural component is made from an F-profile. All manipulations should start from the top element. The profile must be cut to the size of the outer opening and sawed down at 45 degree angles. The prepared special profile should be attached to the bar so that it can be closed with plastic, but at the same time, do not block the groove for fixing the slope.

    • The profile is fixed to the bar with brackets. In a similar way, the remaining segments are mounted. The prepared slope element should be placed in a special profile, pre-coated with sealant. The resulting gap between the plastic and the wall must be sealed with a heater. It should be noted that the layer of insulating material should not be excessively massive or have vacuums. The outer edge of the slope must be brought into the groove of the special profile and pressed to align the panel. Next, you should sew up the side slopes, while scrupulously distributing the thermal insulation. If external walls insulated, then such manipulations with slopes can be omitted. In such a situation, the gaps between the panels and the base of the slopes should be sealed with mounting foam.
    • The final period involves the fastening of decorating corners, which should be glued with glue. The points of contact between the panels must be degreased and all cracks covered with acrylic sealant. Acrylic should be squeezed directly into the gap, rubbing and leveling is carried out, the resulting excess should be removed with a damp cloth. All manipulations should be done in small areas and wiped gently clean. Since, until the acrylic has hardened, it is quite easy to remove. The section of the opening under the window sill is being plastered.

    PVC sheathing

    Advice! You can veneer window slopes in another way, which differs significantly from the previous one. This method allows you to sheathe a window slope using any PVC material. Note that this option is used when mounting seam has an insignificant interval, that is, the distance from the frame to the wall is minimal.

    The initial stage should be carried out in stages:

    • Cleaning.
    • Elimination of defects.
    • Applying a primer.

    Sheathing slopes should be adhering to the following rules:

    1. Remove excess foam, while you need to make sure that the cut is placed flush with the surface of the frame.
    2. Facing slopes with plastic plates provides for surface treatment with a primer. Preference should be given to penetrating compounds with the addition of antiseptic components.
    3. Fixing rails.
    4. An important point is the trimming of the mounting foam. Cutting is done in such a way that a groove is formed for fixing the plastic. Cutting is done in close proximity to the frame to ensure maximum fit of the material.
    5. Reveal the details.

    After the performed manipulations, a number of actions should be performed:

    • Using a jigsaw, you need to cut plastic. As a rule, burrs may remain along the edges, which can be removed with sandpaper.
    • Performing pre-assembly. Such manipulation will determine the presence of defects. If double-sided plastic is used for facing slopes, then one side needs to be sanded a little, thereby indicating the wrong side of the material. Carrying out such manipulation promotes better adhesion. Since the fixation of PVC panels is carried out using mounting foam.
    • Prepared elements are placed in the right place. They need to be installed in the prepared groove. Using a level, the structure is leveled.
    • The outer edge of the part is moved away and spot foam is poured.
    • All parts of the structure are attached to each other with masking tape. Fixation is carried out along the circumference of the structure and at the points of joining.

    Important! For beginners, the question arises: how long will it take to dry completely? As a rule, it will take a day for a thorough drying. After that, additional finishing measures are performed. It should be remembered that external slopes also require attention.

    Quite often, siding is used for such purposes. Working with building materials does not cause any particular difficulties due to the characteristics of the material. But if there are difficulties, then in the vastness of Runet there are many videos and photos from detailed instructions regarding siding installation. Simplicity installation work will allow you to make the lining yourself.

    The turmoil associated with an important change, the purchase of plastic windows, is the choice of profile, design, fittings, but not only. There is a decision to be made about slopes. Without the help of specialists, different types of slopes can be made, save some money and buy a window sill, for example, more expensive.

    The downside is that, most likely, it will not be possible to repair windows under warranty. On the other hand, they shouldn't break. The warranty is just insurance.

    Often it is necessary to insulate the window opening, the quality of the “native” slopes is not satisfactory. Only by dismantling the old ones, improving them with a heater, will it be possible to change the situation.

    Mosaics made of glass, mirror splashes, fragments, a relief surface and other extravagant design options are created in a separate order, mostly by hand. Do-it-yourself photo of slopes, from different materials help you make a choice. But much depends on the features of installation work, their simplicity or complexity, accessibility.

    Pros and cons of plaster

    Increasing the slope by plastering is the most elementary way to design a window opening. No need to buy tools, modern materials. Previously, people plastered walls only on their own and did an excellent job with this task.

    Cons of this method:

    • the surface may end up uneven;
    • it is desirable to insulate such slopes additionally;
    • it will take quite a lot of time to work, because it will be necessary to apply the building mixture in several layers, let each one dry.

    If you try, the new slopes still turn out to be even, beautiful. As they say, the eyes are afraid, but the hands are doing. You should buy the necessary materials, start restoring the natural, usual design for apartments and houses.

    It is important to consider that as a result, the slope will not look as harmonious with the windows as plastic. The feeling of novelty, progress will be lost. But it will be cozy, beauty in the retro style will return to the house.

    The harmony of the design of the window opening is understood different people differently. This applies not only to curtains, the choice of plants, the colors of the window sill, the color of the windows, but also the slopes.

    Mounting Features

    How to make slopes with your own hands when wrinkling plaster without defects? The surface is easier to make if you use special plaster beacons. They are on sale, they can be plaster, metal, wood.

    It is better to choose plaster because they are very easy to handle. The metal ones are perfectly fixed, while the wooden ones are easier to remove during the restoration process.

    How many beacons do you need for one window? They are installed according to a clear scheme. The first is attached next to window frame, up close. As a result, the distance of the overlap, overlap of the slope on the frame should be about 50 mm. Lighthouses are also needed at the outer corners of the window opening. These areas are subject to greater stress, this element strengthens them.

    Paint corners help to improve the effect, achieve optimal results, form the right angle. Attach them with gypsum putty.

    In order for the plaster not to crack, before proceeding with the creation of a new surface, the old one must be thoroughly cleaned. It is possible to achieve better adhesion of new materials to the surface if notches are made, although this is not necessary.

    The surface must be primed. For plastering, a mixture of cement and sand is used in proportions of 1 to 2. Gypsum dry plaster is ideal for the upper slope.

    Each layer is applied as carefully as possible, it is allowed to dry, leveled with a spatula, then proceed to apply the next one. Sanding the last layer is a responsible process. You don't need a spatula, but Sander or sandpaper - with large grains and smaller.

    A sealant that can be used for painting will help eliminate gaps in the corners, along the line connecting the slope with the window frame, the wall.

    That's all, the slopes are ready. The surface is primed and painted in the desired color. If insulation is provided, it is necessary, after removing the old slopes, treating the walls with a primer, putty, to mount the insulating material, fix it with foam or with the help of nails intended for this. Then apply plaster.

    Drywall slopes - a lot of advantages

    Do-it-yourself installation of slopes from drywall is difficult at first glance. They do everything "scientifically", as they say. Because of this, perhaps, the result is luxurious - the windows are neat, stylish, fashionable. True, you will need special tools that not every home has.

    People are used to the need for a hammer to hammer in a nail, but it turned out that it was more practical to purchase a screwdriver. At the dacha, a hammer is relevant, but not in an apartment with a modern renovation. And all because of the drywall.

    This is a light weight material, cut with a grinder. With its help, in a short time it is really possible to create a perfectly flat surface. Such slopes can be repaired in case of minor damage with putty.

    The disadvantage is that it is unstable to moisture. Be sure to use a primer. It cannot be used to decorate surfaces from the side of the street.

    They start with the installation of the frame: a metal profile is attached, guides. Then the insulation is fixed, drywall sheets are installed. Sheathe the sides first, and then the top.

    If desired, if there is a skill, the work can be done faster than if you choose plastering. Do-it-yourself door slopes are often also made from this material. It's beautiful and practical.

    Sandwich panels for slopes

    How to make slopes on the windows with your own hands without any extra effort? Sandwich panels - what you need. Having bought them, you can simultaneously complete the decor and insulate the window opening. They are different colors, easy to fix.

    In order to put the slopes in order, it is not necessary in this case to remove the old ones, but it is desirable - a truly durable surface will be created that will last for many years. If you decorate with sandwich panels old surface, the duration of their operation will depend on its condition.

    The starting profile is placed next to the frame, and a wooden rail is taken for the outer edge. A sandwich panel is attached to them using screws, self-tapping screws.

    Mounting foam carefully fills the void between the panel and the wall. The decorative profile is put on the corners, fixed. It remains only to wipe the new surface, remove dust. The slopes are done, the new design will please the eye with beauty modern materials, their combinations.

    DIY slope photo

    The durability, reliability and stability of windows depend on the quality of installation of slopes. Slopes provide tightness, heat and sound insulation. If they are installed incorrectly, the window will not last long and functionally, and will soon have to be replaced. Therefore, it is very important to choose the right type of slopes that is suitable for your windows, and install it correctly.

    Types of window slopes, their advantages and disadvantages

    Depending on the location of the slopes, they are divided into internal and external or external.

    Internal slopes are located directly in the room and do not have a special functional role, except for tightness, and also act as a design for the joints between the window and the wall. Unlike them, external slopes provide sound and heat insulation, protect the room from moisture, heat and temperature changes.

    Depending on the material from which the slopes are made, there are:

    • plaster,
    • wooden,
    • plasterboard,
    • plastic,
    • Sandwich panels.

    1. Plaster slopes are a classic option. It will take at least two days to install such slopes. Since the plaster must dry after application. And then it needs to be sanded to make it smooth. After grinding, internal slope, it is treated with a primer and painted water-based paint.

    2. Wooden slopes for windows. For windows made of natural wood, wooden slopes are ideal. At the same time, the design of the room will become more aristocratic and refined. For the manufacture of such slopes choose the best wood, carefully dried and processed. Therefore, wooden slopes will last as long as, for example, plastic ones. One of the significant advantages of wooden slopes is their environmental friendliness. After all, the tree natural material, which does not emit toxic substances, unlike plastic.

    3. Slopes for plasterboard windows. Drywall slopes are used for significant damage to window openings. They close up only internal openings. Plasterboard slopes allow you to get rid of additional moisture on the windows. First you need to beat all the plaster and cover it with a primer. Then sheets of moisture-resistant drywall are installed, and a heater is placed between them: polystyrene foam, polyurethane foam or mineral wool. Further, this slope is primed, painted or finished according to the interior design. And at the junction between the wall and the slope, a corner is glued. The disadvantage of such slopes is that when wet for a long time, drywall slopes swell.

    4. Plastic window slopes. Plastic slopes are more expensive than drywall. Such slopes are ideal for plastic windows, as they have the same coefficient of thermal expansion during temperature differences. This eliminates the possibility of gaps between the window and slopes. Plastic slopes are suitable for finishing both internal and external slopes.

    5. Sandwich panels - as a kind of plastic slopes. Sandwich panels are a type of plastic slopes. Unlike plastic, sandwich panels consist of three layers, two sheets of plastic and insulation between them. Sandwich panels can withstand temperatures up to 45 ° C, thereby providing protection from moisture and cold. Of all the window slopes, they are the most expensive.

    Installation of slopes on metal-plastic windows

    There are three types of slopes suitable for PVC windows:

    • plastic,
    • plaster,
    • Plasterboard.

    Slopes made of plastic or sandwich panels are best suited for finishing plastic windows. Plastic slopes are applied after the installation of plastic windows. To better understand the technology of their installation, let's get acquainted with the tools that will be needed in the process of work:

    • plastic panels,
    • start lane,
    • corner,
    • Profile,
    • self-tapping screws,
    • Insulation: polystyrene foam, mineral wool or polyurethane foam,
    • silicone gun,
    • Screwdriver,
    • Scotch,
    • bubble level,
    • Putty.

    The technology for installing slopes of plastic windows is not too complicated, if you carefully understand everything:

    • To begin with, from the outside, remove all excess mounting foam. This can be done with a construction knife. Next, you need to putty all the cracks, using any mixture for exterior and interior work, depending on the type of slope.
    • Using a level, measure the dimensions of the internal slopes. Install a wooden frame, on which our plastic slope will subsequently be attached. The starting strip is installed at the bottom of the window frame.
    • Attach the profile to the wooden frame. Insulate the slope using polystyrene, mineral wool or mounting foam.
    • Now install the plastic base. To do this, simply fix it on the profile, and process the joints with silicone. This technology for installing slopes on PVC windows for external and internal slopes is absolutely the same.

    Watch the installation of slopes of plastic windows - video:

    Advantages of installing plastic slopes:

    • No serious room pollution.
    • Since plastic does an excellent job with thermal insulation, energy savings are guaranteed.
    • Replacing a window does not require repairing the entire room.
    • Plastic slopes are easy to clean and do not collect dust.
    • The slope performs the function of absorbing moisture, thus eliminating the appearance of mold.
    • The plastic slope is made of the same material as the window, which means it will last the same lines.

    Plaster slopes for metal-plastic windows

    Plaster slopes are also installed on plastic windows, but they have more disadvantages than advantages. Firstly, they do not keep heat well, which means that fogging of windows is guaranteed. Secondly, plaster slopes will not last as long as plastic ones, because they crack over time. Thirdly, it will take a lot of time to install plaster slopes. Since such slopes are laid in layers, and each layer needs at least two days to dry. The advantages of these slopes are low cost of operation and versatility.

    To install plaster slopes, we need:

    • plaster mix,
    • Perforator,
    • Hammer,
    • dowel,
    • self-tapping screws,
    • Screwdriver,
    • Level,
    • Putty knife,
    • square,
    • Primer.

    Installation steps:

    • Before starting work, stick a protective film on the window sill, do the same with the window if there is no special branded film on it.
    • We clean the excess foam with a paint knife. Next, we prime and insulate future slopes. Styrofoam is glued around the perimeter of the slope location.
    • Next, you should install beacons and dilute the plaster solution. It is recommended to use ready-made cement mortars based on gypsum or cement.

    Tip: Before applying the mortar, attach the plaster mesh over the foam.

    • The plaster should be applied first with a wide spatula at a right angle, and then level the surface at an angle of 45-50 degrees.
    • Sanding, primer and paint
    • Primer, putty and paint

    Plasterboard slopes for metal-plastic windows

    Plasterboard slopes are installed only indoors, the use of external plasterboard slopes is unacceptable.

    To install plasterboard slopes on plastic windows, we need:

    • Moisture resistant drywall
    • profiles and guides,
    • metal screws,
    • assembly knife,
    • dowel,
    • Level,
    • insulation,
    • screwdriver,
    • Perforated corner.

    For correct installation slopes on the windows, a number of such actions should be performed:

    • We measure the distance from the window to the place of the future slope. Consider the width of the drywall as well, 12mm thick drywall works best.
    • After you have measured the distance, put marks on the wall.
    • Install the guide profile. Its outer side should go along the line, and the profile itself should be behind the line.
    • Next, draw lines on the floor and ceiling and nail the next profile.
    • When the frame is ready, we insulate the slope. As well as when installing a plastic slope, using mounting foam, polystyrene or mineral wool.
    • According to the exposed profiles, we measure the slope, and cut out the required dimensions with a mounting knife.
    • The next step is the assembly of drywall slope. Using self-tapping screws, we fasten the drywall.
    • Using a perforated corner, check the corners.
    • Glue fiberglass or interlining at the joints of drywall.
    • Next, we carry out Finishing work: putty and paint.

    Tip: To install a drywall slope, choose moisture-resistant drywall, as moisture collects in the corners and mold forms.

    There is another option for installing drywall slopes. This is gluing them to the surface of the slope. To do this, first remove the excess mounting foam with a knife and prime the surface. Then we level the slope with putty. We measure and cut sheets of drywall the right sizes. We glue them with a special glue for drywall.

    Tip: When gluing drywall sheets, they also use a finishing putty, which does not set as quickly as glue, so it is ideal for those who make such slopes for the first time.

    Installation of slopes on wooden windows

    For wooden windows, a wooden slope, made of the same wood as the window itself, is best suited. It is advisable to install a wooden slope on the second day after installing the window, so that the mounting foam has time to dry.

    To install a wooden slope, we need:

    • assembly knife,
    • Primer,
    • screwdriver,
    • self-tapping screws,
    • Wooden casing.

    It is necessary to measure the future slope in advance, to prepare the casing of the desired size. Next, cut off the excess foam and prime the surface. Then we install and attach the slope, connecting the slopes to each other using self-tapping screws.

    Another type of slope suitable for wooden windows is cork slopes, made of drywall covered with cork oak bark.

    Advantages:

    • Installation of such a slope does not take much time,
    • environmental friendliness,
    • Excellent sound and heat insulators.

    Disadvantages:

    • Price.
    • Very soft, easy to damage.

    To install a cork slope, you need to install a profile, and attach sheets of the required size to it. Next, insulate the space between the sheet and the window with mounting foam. Then treat the joints with silicone.

    Plaster and plasterboard and plastic slopes are also suitable for wooden windows. The technology for installing slopes on windows, both plastic and wooden, is the same in this case.

    Installation of slopes of plastic windows

    Among the numerous companies for the installation of plastic windows and doors, it is very difficult to find those that would immediately deal with slopes. During the time spent on finishing the slopes for one opening, company employees can install 4-5 windows and get a lot more money. And some types of slopes cannot be done within one day, the technology requires time for the material to harden and dry, which further discourages them from engaging in such services. In addition, the very need to install slopes changes the algorithm of action of the "installers" of plastic windows. They must take out old windows very carefully so as not to create large destructions of the existing finish, carefully consider the specific place for mounting the frame, taking into account the thickness and material of the walls. No slopes - no problems, here is the method of installing plastic windows by company employees.

    Another nuisance for window installers is that if you make slopes yourself, you need to control the distance between the frame and the window opening. In this way, further installation of decorative elements of the window opening can be facilitated. And an ordinary installation requires them only to drill four holes for dowels in the vertical walls of the opening, fix the frame under the level and foam the cracks. After that, the masters receive their money, and the owner is forced to hire another team of builders to finish the windows or do it on his own.

    Important. If windows are installed by company employees, then be sure to require them to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the window opening from dust and dirt, and moisten them with plenty of water before foaming.

    In most cases, such work is not done, the fixation strength of the structure is significantly reduced. Later, under the influence of wind loads or during the opening / closing of the cocoon, the frames loosen a little, cracks appear near the slopes and frames you made. Eliminating them is useless; to eliminate the marriage, you will have to strengthen the fastenings of the frames. In terms of labor intensity, these works are no different from the installation of plastic windows. In essence, you will have to do anew the work for which the money has already been paid.

    Only inexperienced developers may think that there is no difference between internal and external slopes. It exists, and quite significant. Understanding the features of the arrangement of external slopes will make it possible to avoid mistakes, improve their appearance and increase operating time.

    As you can see, the installation of external slopes is not such a simple matter, work very carefully and carefully.

    Prices for platbands and extensions for windows and doors

    Trim and trim for windows and doors

    Preparatory work

    So, the plastic window is installed, the mounting foam is frozen. The factory polyethylene film on the frames and sashes has not been removed. If not, then you will have to take measures to protect surfaces from contamination and mechanical damage.

    We will consider several options for manufacturing external slopes for plastic windows, starting with the most practical and reliable - from a cement-sand mortar.

    Plastering slopes on brick houses

    Before starting work, decide what the ebb will be: from galvanized iron or standard plastic.

    The algorithm for its installation depends on the material of manufacture. The frame of plastic windows has a special groove in the lower part, an ebb must be inserted into it. "Bait" it and see at what angle it lies, at what distance from the walls. Make marks, they will be useful to you during the plastering of the lower slope.

    Remove the same dimensions on the sides and top of the opening, find out the required thickness of the plaster. The larger it is, the more difficult it will be to make a slope. After taking measurements, analyzing the condition and developing a scheme for the production of work, you can begin to plaster the slopes.

    Prepare the cement-sand mixture based on about 2.5–3 parts of sand per part of cement, but no more. The solution must be greasy, otherwise, with repeated freezing / freezing, it will begin to crumble. You will have to redo everything or use various methods of surface protection. In addition, an increased amount of cement increases the coefficient of adhesion of the mortar to the walls, and this is very important for slopes.

    Step 1. Protect the surface of glass panes from contamination. Use plastic wrap and tape for this. Cover all places where the mass can get. Stick the adhesive tape firmly so that the film does not fall off during operation.

    Step 2 Cut off the foam that has protruded beyond the planes of the frame. If there are large gaps after foaming, close them. You can use a mortar or various sealants. Cut the foam with a sharp knife in continuous movements, avoid tearing. How better insulation– the less heat loss. But that's not all. If cold bridges form along the perimeter of the frame, then condensation appears on the slopes, which causes the reproduction of fungi and mold. Microorganisms not only adversely affect building structures and materials, but can also cause various allergic reactions.

    Step 3. Prepare your tools. You will need a grout, a trowel, a plumb line or level, dowels, a spray gun or a brush to wet the surfaces with water.

    Working tools

    Masters often mention a bevel for slopes. This topic needs to be discussed in more detail. What is a malka and what is it used for?

    Malka is a tool with which you can level the plaster at various angles. We have already said that slopes need to be made at obtuse angles, due to this, the window opening increases. Malka can be bought ready-made in the store, made independently or replaced with an elementary device.

    The standard bevel consists of two metal strips connected by a hinge. After selecting the desired angle, the slats in the hinge are clamped with a screw. You can also make it from wooden planks, but this is a long time; for one-time work, it makes no sense to waste so much time for several windows.

    If there is an irresistible desire to align the angles of the slopes with the help of a bevel, then you can make it from one board. One end is cut at the right angle, it will rest against the window frame. The second part of the stick slides along a guide board fixed to the wall. But there is another way to maintain the desired slope angle, which is used by all professionals. How they work, we will describe below. We assure you that this method allows you to achieve excellent quality and at the same time do not waste time at all on the manufacture of bevels or special devices.

    It is advisable to pre-sprinkle the surface with cement-sand milk. This is the same solution, only very liquid. The milk will perform two tasks: it will moisten very dry bricks and increase the adhesion of the plaster to the surface.

    Step 5 Mount the guide rail on the wall. To do this, you need to fix a thin board with absolutely even sides on the wall above the window opening. The side edge of the board should be horizontal, make the fastening with dowels, the holes in the wall will then be closed without any problems. Fasten it securely, it should not stagger and, moreover, fall off. One end of the rule will slide across the board.

    Step 6 If you need to apply plaster of great thickness, then this should be done in several stages. Sketch the first layer about 2-3 cm thick, let it dry a little. Then throw on the second layer and so on until about a centimeter remains until the final alignment of the slope. Throw the solution with the back of the trowel, only throwing will ensure that all cracks on the surface are completely filled.

    Important. Beginners often fail to throw, it’s not scary, learn, after a while experience will appear. But never try to smear the solution on the surface, nothing will come of this venture. You can slightly grease only the recesses obtained after throwing. But that's not how professionals work. They always throw, and for different purposes they take a different amount of solution.

    Step 7 You can level the mass with a small or ordinary bar. We have already talked about Malk, now we will tell you how professionals work. They prepare an ordinary flat rail, the length should exceed the width of the slope by about 10 cm. As for the width, there is a special requirement here: it should not exceed the width of the gap from the sash to the end of the window frame. Further, the alignment of the solution on the upper slope is done as follows:

    • one end of the rail rests against the frame, the side edge is pressed tightly against the sash. The second end of the rail will slide on the board;
    • slowly move the rail along the board and sash in zigzag movements, the mass protruding beyond the thickness of the slope is leveled;
    • in a place where there is a gap between the leaves, remove the rail from one leaf and install it on the next. Do not worry that after rearranging it, a small tubercle will remain, it is leveled with a grater without any problems.

    Step 8 After the excess mass is pulled together by a rail, depressions of various parameters will inevitably remain on the surface. Large ones need to be repaired with a trowel. Take a little mass on a plywood stand, pick up small portions with the back of the trowel and close up the holes. The mass must be glued with force. Hold the plywood under the patched area, any excess mass will fall onto it.

    Step 9 Wait 40-50 minutes for the mortar to harden. Once it has become a little stronger, start working with a trowel. Do not apply great efforts, work in a circular motion, constantly control the position of the working surface of the trowel (trowel). If the solution has hardened strongly, moisten it with water. Carefully work in the corners of the slopes. You can correct the corners with a trowel or a spatula, there is no difference. Use those tools that are more familiar and easier to work with.

    Now you can move on to vertical slopes. Before finishing the side, put the ebb in place. The technology of its installation depends on the type chosen. But for all cases, one condition must be observed - the protruding part of the ebb must fit tightly into a special seat on the frame of the plastic window. Take all measures to prevent water from double-glazed windows from entering the space between the frame and the ebb. For a guarantee, you can smear the seat with silicone.

    Step 1. Install the tide in place, on the side surfaces of the window opening, mark the place of its position on the upper surface. Do not forget that the ebb must be installed at an angle for a reliable stack of water.

    Step 2 Remove it, level the lower slope with a cement-sand mass at the level of the marked lines. During work, use the same tools that worked on the upper slope. You can not achieve special cleanliness of the surface, it will close anyway.

    Step 3 After the mass hardens, install a low tide on the window. Cover it with a cloth or film from possible dirt or damage.

    Now you can start finishing the side surfaces of the slopes. The algorithm for the production of works is almost no different. First, boards are installed on the sides, the position is leveled with a level or plumb line. Next, a solution is thrown, alignment is always done from the bottom up, so less mass falls on the ebb. It lingers on the surface of the rule and is thrown into the container.

    Finishing work

    On the second day, you can remove the guide boards. Remove the retaining nails or dowels, do not open the rail towards yourself, but carefully pull it away from the slopes, press it firmly against the wall. So you can avoid chipping fresh plaster.

    There will definitely be small gaps under the board, close them with a trowel, smooth the surfaces with grout. After the slopes are completely dry, the surfaces can be painted with facade water-based paint (white or color) or made decorative plaster the same material as on the facade walls.

    Plastic slopes

    The option is rare, but has the right to life. The use of plastic slopes makes it possible to complete the production of slopes in one day. We do not recommend doing them for one reason - the service life of plastic slopes is about 15 years, do you really want to do construction work again after this time? The slopes are made of plastic panels for external work, the color and texture should be in harmony with the appearance of the facade walls of the building.

    Under the plastic slopes, you need to make a supporting frame. It can be made from rolled metal or wooden slats. There is no fundamental difference, lumber is reliably protected from the effects of precipitation, the service life is the same as that of metal. We will consider the manufacture of simple option frame - from wooden slats.

    Step 1. Pick up the slats of the desired length and thickness. They must fit into the space between the wall and the window frame. If necessary, correct the surface of the wall a little or reduce the thickness of the rails in some places. Reiki must be fixed along the perimeter of the slope: at the bottom and at the top and on both sides of the opening. If the plastic windows are large, then put an additional few rails on all planes. Pre-fix them with liquid nails, fill the gaps with mounting foam. After the foam has hardened, to increase the stability of the slats, you can fix it with several dowels to the wall. But it is not necessary to do this, the frame will hold on very firmly. The foam that comes out after solidification will be cut off.

    Step 2 Install guide boards on the walls above and on both sides of the opening. How this is done is described above.

    Step 3 Put the tide in place. Installation technology depends on the type of product.

    Step 4 Check the position of the timber frame. All slats must lie in the same plane, side, lower and upper slopes at an angle. Keep the side slopes vertical.

    Step 5. Take exact measurements, prepare plastic panels and decorative corners.

    Practical advice. It is better to start installing panels from the side of fixation. At this point, the panels have a beautiful rounding, nothing will have to be additionally sealed. Cut off a thin plastic strip to which staples or studs are fixed, and press this edge against the frame.

    Step 6 Measure and cut each panel separately. Can be cut with a utility knife electric jigsaw or Bulgarian. This operation is best done on a cutting machine. ceramic tiles- the angle is precisely adjusted, the cut is perfectly even "factory".

    Step 7 Fix the plastic slopes with a stapler, small nails or self-tapping screws in the place provided by the manufacturer. Press the panels firmly, do not leave gaps. If the window is large, then the slope is additionally glued to the wooden cross rails with liquid nails.

    Step 8 Close the corners with decorative corners, fix them with liquid nails. Cut the corners at the joints at an angle of 45 °.

    This option for making slopes is best used if the whole house is finished plastic panels. Even during the work on finishing the walls, consider the possibility of making a frame for slopes.

    Council of professionals. It is very difficult for novice craftsmen to cut off the corners exactly at an angle of 45 °, there is always a gap at the junction. Of course, it can be covered with a sealant or silicone, but the correction is noticeable, the appearance worsens. We advise you to cut only one corner at a 45° angle, and the second at a 90° angle. From the corner at 45 °, the lower platform of the square is cut off, and the thin upper platform overlaps on the cut one at 90 °. This technique completely eliminates the possibility of gaps, there are no joints, the elements overlap. At whatever angle you cut, the cut is always located on the bottom whole area.

    How to mount slopes on special profiles

    For the manufacture of the slope, you will need plastic profiles and sandwich panels.

    The dimensions of the panels are selected taking into account the parameters of the window. During the installation process, pieces are cut from the whole panel according to the size of vertical and horizontal slopes. You can cut with a grinder with a metal disc, an electric jigsaw, a mounting knife or other tools. If burrs form during circumcision, they are removed with a knife edge or sandpaper.

    Step 1. A plastic U-shaped profile is screwed around the perimeter of the window frame. Carefully check the horizontal and vertical position. The ends of plastic slopes are installed in this profile. Use small self-tapping screws to secure.

    Important. It must be remembered that the violation of the integrity of the metal profile of the window frame with self-tapping screws negatively affects its performance.

    First, fix the two extreme screws, after checking the position of the element, screw in the fasteners every 15–20 cm.

    Step 2 Make sure the dimensions are correct. All is well - insert the slope into the profile. To facilitate the work, use a piece of plastic. Insert it into the gap between the panel and the profile and gradually move it along the panel, press on the end. The element will fit into the groove along its entire length without much effort.

    Step 3 Stick strips of masking tape on the second (free) end of the slope and leave free pieces. With their help, then it will be fixed to the wall before foaming. The adhesive tape will not allow the slopes to bend under the influence of expanding foam.

    Step 4 Carefully seal the gap between the slope and the wall, set the elements in a horizontal position and fix its position with free pieces of adhesive tape. Don't forget to wet the surfaces. Water not only improves grip, but also speeds up the hardening of the foam.

    Step 5 Cut off any excess foam. Depending on the material and technology of finishing the external walls, install decorative corners or platbands.

    That's all, according to the same algorithm, you can finish all the remaining plastic windows, regardless of their size and the method of opening / closing.

    wooden slopes

    Such slopes are installed on houses made of rounded logs without additional external cladding or on houses made of ordinary timber, the outer walls of which are finished with natural clapboard.

    For the street, you can use two options for slopes: from natural lining or furniture board. The furniture board is made of glued boards - the probability of deformations under the influence of precipitation is excluded. Wide boards are sure to warp and are not suitable. If they are firmly fixed on the frame, then there will be no warping, but very deep cracks will form. In this regard, it is not recommended to use them as a material for the manufacture of slopes. For example, we will consider a variant of a furniture board with a thickness of about 1 cm.

    Step 1. Take the dimensions, cut off the slope blanks according to them. Do everything with maximum precision, furniture boards are expensive. Use only serviceable and adjusted tools, observe safety precautions. Woodworking machines and tools are among the most dangerous mechanisms, injuries from them are very serious. Sketching slopes can be quite complex, all sides at different angles, etc. If you have little experience in taking measurements, make a template out of cardboard. Adjust its dimensions several times until it takes the appropriate form. Using the template, cut out the side and top slopes for each plastic window.

    Step 2 Set the tide, do not forget to make a slope. To increase the strength under the drain, it is recommended to make a frame. For manufacturing, it is better to use slats 20 × 50 mm, be sure to soak them with an antiseptic. If not, dry the slats well in a warm room or under a fan and coat them several times with ordinary vegetable oil, it perfectly protects against putrefactive processes.

    Step 3. Try on the slope, install it back to back in the gap between the plastic window frame and the wall. Align its position according to the level.

    Step 4 Fasten the wooden slope in place. To do this, you need small self-tapping screws or cloves and trimming rails about ten centimeters long. Nail the slats to the slope and the log house, always at the top and bottom, the distance between the fixing points is no more than 20 cm. necessary condition for the next operation.

    Step 5 Wet the gap between the slope and the wall well with a spray gun. Fill it with mounting foam. If the width of the slope is large, then you will have to foam in two steps. In order for the foam not to bend the wooden slope, we made it securely fixed with slats.

    Step 6 After hardening, cut off the remaining foam, check the strength of the fixation of the slopes. Practice shows that no additional fasteners need to be done anymore.

    Step 7 Prepare cashiers. Wooden slopes must be trimmed with platbands. Nail them to the slopes with studs or self-tapping screws, the attachment points can be puttied.

    When choosing plastic materials for slopes, be sure to pay attention to UV resistance. Never work with indoor plastic; it is categorically unsuitable for outdoor slopes.
